you complaining and whining about why doing the extra things that will take you to the next level doesn’t make me wanna subscribe, buy from you.. this video should be called “omg ONE sold sooo good!!!”
That's why I closed my store too. You sell way more online. Employees are expensive and they aren't always trustworthy. I've had employees steal starting day 1.
Weird. I explicitly avoid cards I want but that my LGS doesn't have in stock and build around their absence, just to continue supporting them. I'd never let my lgs go outta business even if that means I play worse magic for it.
Congratulations on the upgrade! I always wanted to open up a drive through barber shop/game store with an open bar in the back. Please don't take my idea.
I feel for ya man. An LGS is a great thing I have very fond memories of going to my LGS as a kid. It is just becoming increasingly hard to run an LGS as time goes on. Best of luck to you and may your store be profitable and host to many fond memories!
The only potential issue I see with an in store pickup drive through is it keeps people out of your store and from seeing any new product you may have stocked. If you offer some sort of food and or drinks for the drive through, then you have potential! Could be completely wrong, though.
@rng-gamez I don't know the space, but you could always do ice cream / Popsicles and hand out a complimentary pack of cheap cards to kids to try to draw in new customers.
Great to hear from you again and glad all is well. Thanks for the highly valued view points and experience. We appreciate you even if google star reviews are 4 😜
I've been running an e-commerce business for 10 years and absolutely exhausted. Endless tasks and details, slim profit margins (if any), lots of stress, customer issues... after 10 years I'm still just paying myself for the essentials. Thinking it might be time to move on... but the problem is the business has lots of debt. Been super stressed out and anxious about it all lately.
Learning from a lot of entrepreneurs while I worked for a Tech company... Most owners work IN their company , most owners don't work ON their company. pack per win may be standard, but 2 prize packs per player rather than 1.5 packs per player makes a big difference. 4 rounds pack per win would be fair.
90% of your profit should be online, 9% of your profit should be sales in store, and less than 1% of your profit should be drafts and other in-store events.
Those pre release kits could be a patreon special. I remember Rudy running a pre release variety kit sale. That could be fun, if you had enough to do the sale. Or maybe do some sort of raffle with them or something like that. They aren't dead weight!
this is building a business as well… it just depends if you want to level up your business higher or if your happy at where your at ? nothing competes with adrevenue
Good luck! its amizing to succeed where most fail its extremely hard to make money selling stuff where you have to compete vs the manufacturer. If you where in any other businesses you would have made a lot more money thats for sure.
Gotta choose your end goal and make sure everything you are doing is taking you a bit closer to the end goal. All actions need to take you closer to achieving that, anything else is a distraction. If you can hire someone to run the business and still make money , do it, if not you'll have to choose your passion. Moving to a larger unit means more overhead, maintenance, upkeep, but will it increase revenue?
You can also park your money without the monthly fee and have better cash flow not having a business location, especially in older product that ages better than modern product
Lgs owner here, you don't run events to make money. You run events to let the players have fun. Players gotta win somewhere and competitive players buy those staples.
Remember there are more casual players so that why wotc is catering and they are bigger so you are correct catering to the casuals. More money short term and long term. Let the super competive go to those stores that end up going out of business catering to them. Some folks don't know what a hobby is!
I don’t think it’s been done, you’re always innovating/ahead of the curve though. Hope the new move gives you more time to build online presence/channel (free marketing).
Your videos are a great inspiration for my five year business plan but Id like to talk about organization so when it comes to tax time I can right it off

Eh Rudy comes across as kind of a bs artist. Your shop is great and has a good bunch of regulars. As long as you don't start sleeping in the store. Lol
Hasbro is killing the game and this is why...they are squeezing LGS profit margin to zero. Too many products to keep up with. Phyrexia is sweet, but there is no time to capitalize on it because the new set is already here.

Oh yea?
As someone who is looking into opening an LGS, this videos are pure fire. Thank you for being honest
That's why I closed my store too. You sell way more online. Employees are expensive and they aren't always trustworthy. I've had employees steal starting day 1.
Or you like the employee but the customers hate the employee so they stop going and Online becomes the only profit.
Sorry for stealing 😔
@@TheFrio937 that just happened to me at my favorite LGS so o had to stop going and just buy online Dx
A good employee who everyone trusts and appreciates will keep more customers coming back. Thats why i go back to mine

We all have this idea....just how to make it profitable lol Id love a brewery/card shop/sandwhich shop lol

Very true didn’t think of that.

He closed his store?
sent you an email but showing that move would be awesome, how many sq ft is your current store?
1200
When did rudy close his card store?
Don’t you need a store to buy product at wholesale?
Not if you had a store in the past, all you need after that is a commercial location
I used to go to a game store in Michigan that very clearly used to be a bank but they never used the drive through.
pack per win may be standard, but 2 prize packs per player rather than 1.5 packs per player makes a big difference. 4 rounds pack per win would be fair.
So do anyone know how to get a hold of TCGseller? I have tried to email them but all I’m getting is a animated email.
Escalate it to TCGPLAYER that will most likely get a response

I can't seem to find any videos from Rudy talking about this. Did he announce it on another platform?
This was like last year
@@rng-gamez Interesting. I honestly never saw or heard anything about it!!

Teach me the ways of building a business
I've been there already a few times after finding out it was in my area.
It's a cool place ...great vibes.
The drive thru would go crazy! Hell yeah
Barnacle?
I hope you can hire the help you need to feel sane brother. I appreciate all of this
I'm just glad you make videos when you can

Question about your Patreon do u only offer for them to buy mtg product or can u buy other product?

i had an idea and it is stringing ideas together to make a combo of interesting proportions
You can also park your money without the monthly fee and have better cash flow not having a business location, especially in older product that ages better than modern product
More brief non edited videos!!! We like them

There isn’t enough money in the gaming industry. Period.
There is if you do enough volume.

A space with a drive through would be cool. Sounds like its got some room for events cool!
Because people are craxy.
Shadow Realm Fire Sale!!
Ultra sweaty
💦💦💦
Ultra Sweaty😂
You could literally set up the camera and while your packing up orders an just talk as you pack stuff up . There's always a way
Sounds like a surefire to get distracted and make a mistake on an order
The drive thru is a dream!! So excited!!!
its best just to run an online store only at this point
Glad to see you're alive lol!
I’ll take 2 all will be one’s combos with an extra side of UPC, chaff on the side please…

Casual player base is definitely the best to target imo
Fuck the haters, your store is awesome and you're awesome my dude. I'm gonna be all about that drive thru
When LGS don't exist anymore, game dies, profit dies. Wizards should incentivize LGS's.
"Oh yeah, a drive thru yeah. So I can get these smelly ass customers out of here. oh yeah..."
Oh lord
@@rng-gamez lol🤣🤣🤣
Don't you need the store to talk to distributers? The brick and mortar thing you talked about.
You do but if you still have commercial locations you are still fine
haha you are fun rudy just doesnt care but he is frugal . for him onlin emakes more revenue than dealing with poor customers
All I hear is excuses.

I would work for Magic. Pay me in magic and im good.
You shouldn't hire nerds for minimum wage, expect them to buy from you, and think to yourself that everything is going to be fine.
I would hope that my two employees aren’t the only people shopping at my store
Eh Rudy comes across as kind of a bs artist. Your shop is great and has a good bunch of regulars. As long as you don't start sleeping in the store. Lol

Sleeping in the store is his dream!
So my lgs the owner actually lives in the store lol
