That's a really cool video and a nice color scheme! As for the name, I would suggest going with Hive Fleet Jötunn (the frost giants from Norse mythology). Would fit nicely with the GW naming convention :)
love how this turned from a kill-team painting video into a mini diorama. As a hive fleet name, how bout Hive Fleet Remorhaz? named after the d&d ice monstrosity that thrives in cold environs and has a somewhat similar colour scheme to your nids
The tyranids should know the planet as jötunheim , if their fleet gets called jötun, and they should be canonically a little larger than normal tyranids, or just have more big tyranids, and have cool icy things about their biology. Like mabey their body temperature is liquid nitrogen level cold, so the air around them condenses, and you can see the condensed atmosphere radiating from them visually showing that this creature is freaking cold. After getting in fights with the jötunar tyranids the survivors would have dead frostbitten areas, they have to get amputated because its all dead tissue from the extreme cold of the tyranids body clawing them, or biting them.
Hive Fleet Jötunn! Also maybe some ice-blue color on the exoskeleton would work as well? Like they've adapted to try and hide themselves as just more patches of ice but then they explode out of their powder cover to devour whatever prey they sensed
I love the way this turned out, especially how you turned a mistake into an advantageous feature of the diorama. Bio-Plasma or even Fleshborer shots. I love it. I would actually like to suggest Hive Fleet Karkinos, as Karkinos is a mythical giant crustacean that lives in colder waters. And the orange and black on bleached bone carapace actually makes me think of the Coconut Crab shell.
Pro tip, Use a jug of hot water to heat up the can after a shake to let the paint thin and gases expand, only for like 5 - 10 minutes. Then shake lightly after each spray to keep them going. Helps especially during Aussie winter, I can vouch as someone currently trying to undercoat a chaos army.
Not only was this enjoyable but I also had no idea you could soften the plastic models in hot water for doing slight repositioning. Thanks for the tip!
Those turned out AMAZING! Murray's style always fits SO nicely with a more complex, and detailed base! That poor guard!! I've always liked the more thought-explained videos yall do! Seeing the process of changing color schemes, or poses, and the little details that may be left out is really nice! The process of trying to see what worked for changing their faces was really cool!
Something fun I did for my 'gaunts tails is holding a lighter flame near them--it curled the tails and made them look way more dynamic! Obviously ya gotta be careful you don't burn or melt the plastic though.
Great diorama. I really liked the format of the video. Getting some insight into the thought/creation process was outstanding. I especially like the little tips you threw you (hot water - nope, heat gun - nope, cut it apart - yeah, then, oh yeah, let's use a pin vise). Very inspirational.
I loved this!! Your underpainting and the way you blended the colors is just *chefs kiss* Hive Fleet name ideas: Lurking/Permafrost Brood, for how long they were frozen beneath the surface and how long they waited to tear into their enemies
Hivefleet: Somnus (latin for "sleep" or "slumber", because they were in hibernation for years and years) Also I loved this format! Great to see you doing solo vids, Murray! (Murry?)
I really liked the format of this episode, it captured me and I wanted to watch all the way through, some past videos they couldn't really hold my attention
If you are looking to precisely heat up a model part, like the jaw of a tyranid, I would highly suggest using a soldering iron. Letting it heat up and then holding it very close (but not touching) the model for a few seconds can apply heat very precisely and not risk damaging the rest of the part. Well, there's always a risk but it's much better than using the heat gun lol
One of my favourite tabletop time vids. It was a nice change of pace with the style, and the end result is terrifyingly stunning. Idea for the name: hivefleet frostbite?
I really like the colors of this and if this could be made into its own thin like we have the space bears and the skuri tau I could see this becoming a tyrani fleet of their own one that since they had been encased in ice for so long, it caused them to become more adapted to more icey planets leading these tyrnids to become more epuipted with ice based weapons and tracks slow gameplay down their prey before devouring them.
Hive Fleet Jörmungandr would be a cool name. That or Apophis. I loved this type of video. We don’t often get a video where it’s just Murray and it’s really cool to watch his process. I would love to see more and will catch you in the next video.
I like the idea of the Hivemind looking that their current opposition, and deciding what colour its fresh spawn will be, in order to contrast nicely on the battlefield. "When it came to these Questing Tendrils, I just grabbed some greenstuff and let my imagination run wild..." Rule#34? Murray's painting style is so cool, and the remodelling on the 'nids jaws works very well. I imagine that the icy Zoanthropes of Hive Fleet Snow Koan, cause, "Brain Freeze" in their targets.
Hivefleet Elder - All hivefleets are named after various monsters from pop culture or legend - In Lovecrafts: "At the mountains of madness" researchers discover frozen in the ice of Antarctica: "the remains of fourteen prehistoric life-forms previously unknown to science". These beings later revealed to be "elder things", awaken and brutally slaughter most of the research party. - Awakened from the ice with unknown purpose and brutal methods fits pretty well to your backstory Also: This style of video is great!
This is such a cool way of doing this video, makes it more interesting, also please keep in fails/mis-adventures to allow us mere mortals know even near-gods mess up too. LOVE how the spray paint affected the foam, added a really cool texture, that was a fail better moment there! Gentle Hugs
im honestly most intrigued how good and fleashy that melted polystyrene looks. It would be amazing for doing a game board where the tyranids are slowly dissolving the planet during the battle and the defender are desperately are trying to stop the inevitable consumption of their planet.
Given that many hive fleets are named for mythological creatures, and given the blue and frosty look of your Tyranids, I'm suggesting Hive Fleet Jörmungandr. The world serpent that was cast into the icy sea by Odin.
I love this way of video. Murray its great to see the your 'brain' process its one of the things I struggle to find the colours that will work for me. This is great I hope we get loads more of this.
My brother is going to love this! He's a huge Tyranid fan playing around with his own idea of a custom hivefleet color palate, and this might inspire him further.
if you are still looking for a name how about hive fleet Koguhpuk since they spent so much time frozen under the ice (according to google the Koguhpuk is an Inuit monster that lives underground to avoid the rays of the sun and only surface during the winter).
It is really cool to see the process. I'm a big WH4K lore fan but have not yet been able to get into painting models. You should name this hive after the ice dragon Kuraokami. It isn't Behemoth or Leviathan but it is similar in grandiosity and it it ice themed to boot.
I was thinking of hive fleet Banshee, as they herald the death of a loved one/ family member and the patterns on their backs sort of resemble red eyes of which banshees are said to have. Also RIP Guardsman may he live on within the great devourer.
I really like the format and the style of video! Need more of these videos for tabletop time! Interesting spraying style with using red, green and blue over the black. It works and is very ... alien. Can’t wait to see both Xeno forces face off in the next KT battle report. Hmm how about Hive Fleet Frostbite.
Hive Fleet Ymir Jotunheim, Jotun, etc are all a bit on the nose imo, but Ymir is one of the names of the father of all giants, and sounds a little alien-esque to me. Frost Giants are the first of his progeny, and the Google bit I read says he was created when the first drops of water fell from the ice of (places), which to me mirrored the "born from the ice" motif these had in the battle report
Those things are terrifying! I love it! Your creativity and paint jobs are always outstanding! Cutting off the jaws and painstakingly sculpting them back on? That’s commitment. Love this format as well! Really interesting to see the whole process. How about Hive Fleet Tesca (latin for tundra).
I suggest "Ice Morays" or "Frost Muraena" for the fleet name. It includes: 1) the terrain type 2) the creators' name in a roundabout way 3) I think morays are a weird kind of predators of the animal kingdom, which fits the tyranid theme.
Love this! I also loved how you used the rattlecans. I have starting using zenithal highlighing, but haven't played around much with different colors for the highlighting/shading. I do want to play some Tyranids again, it's been so long... They've changed so much since 4th ed though
Well done dear. The diorama just hits that note from old Japanese films were it cuts from a sweeping pan of a battle to an intense moment of a random guy holding onto his severed arm as the enemy runs over him. Intense, but well done. Hive Fleet Kurosawa?
For the hive fleet name, what about "Wendigo"? All of the hive fleets are named after mythical creatures. Wendigos are from Native American folklore which would tie in with Jazza's Space Bears, and they're also associated with cold and snow to tie into the planet where they were first discovered.
given that they've been discovered an icy planet, you could call them Hive Fleet Jotunn
Veery good pick
Good idea
That is the perfect name
if they're called Jotunn then they need to be lead by something big. A propper Ice Giant of the tyranids.
I was just gonna suggest Hive Fleet Yeti. Jotunn is WAY better.
Poor Guardsman, this is epic. The blue and white is perfect for the winter/snow killteam board. Its like they have evolved for the terrain 👏👏
no it's not it's kill team
Definitely feel the name Hive Fleet Jötunn or Jötnar fits the theme and setting. As others in the comments have already suggested.
That's a really cool video and a nice color scheme!
As for the name, I would suggest going with Hive Fleet Jötunn (the frost giants from Norse mythology). Would fit nicely with the GW naming convention :)
Please do keep this video format. I loved seeing your thoughts and how everything slowly came together.
Murey painting video letsgooo! Really excited to see where these nids end up in the campaign
Same! does he have a personal channel we can subscribe to
love how this turned from a kill-team painting video into a mini diorama.

Love the final color scheme!
Hive fleet Jötunn seems to be the idea most used for the name, it looks horrifying
Hive Fleet Jötunn! Also maybe some ice-blue color on the exoskeleton would work as well? Like they've adapted to try and hide themselves as just more patches of ice but then they explode out of their powder cover to devour whatever prey they sensed

I like this one!
Murray has my favourite miniature painting stile from the TTT crew!
Loved this video, feel like we don't get to see Murray paint often.dose he have a personal channel ?
After you spent all that time openning up their maws I was sure you'd pose it with the guardsman's head enclosed or bitten off.
Murray, you're insane, and I'm here for it.
Would love to see more Murray always
Could you do a longer video that explains your painting style in more detail. Looks amazing 👏. Very well done.
Those tyranids look really great in the snoerrr. It’s a really impressive effect…that snowrrr.
Pro tip,

Hive Fleet name ideas: Lurking/Permafrost Brood, for how long they were frozen beneath the surface and how long they waited to tear into their enemies
I cannot wrap my head around the way you paint, but the results are absolutely amazing :O
Always enjoy a peak into the Murray-verse. Its nice to take the ride with you and see where the models and ideas take you.
This looks awesome!! Ngl, there were multiple points in this video where I said, "Aw now he's ruined it" but it really came together in the end.
Hivefleet: Somnus
(latin for "sleep" or "slumber", because they were in hibernation for years and years)
Also I loved this format! Great to see you doing solo vids, Murray! (Murry?)
Noice work Murray!! You always do cracking paint jobs mate.
I really liked the format of this episode, it captured me and I wanted to watch all the way through, some past videos they couldn't really hold my attention

This narrative is so satisfying. From the hobby stuff to the story stuff, it’s everything I love about tabletop games!
One of my favourite tabletop time vids. It was a nice change of pace with the style, and the end result is terrifyingly stunning. Idea for the name: hivefleet frostbite?
This looks awsome! I have a name suggestion: Hive Fleet Pandora.
Awesome job mate, captures the essence of the terror factor with the way you painted them. Can't wait to see more
This was a lot of fun to watch, I'd love to see more mini dioramas like this.
That's sick man, also loved the type of video and the flow. Also good hive fleet name would be Hive fleet Yeti
Definitely agree with several other comments, Hive Fleet Jötunn is very fitting for them.
Man that is just so dynamic...loved it. Well done sir.
this was a great video. Loved the insight into Murrays method

I've just started painting warhammer minis for my son. I cant believe how detailed you get🤯 I can barely see them🤣
Murray style of painting..... Amazing, could definitely watch more videos of this style.
consensus seems to be building for "Hive Fleet Jötunn", and I have to admit it sounds rad
Jim the Guardsman awakening could be a cool event. Who knows what hidden knowledge -- hidden power -- that he may have within him.
They are looking absolutly amazing even for me and i am not the biggest Tyranid fan.
Great Job.
Ok this was SO WELL PUT TOGETHER. You guys are nailing this home brew 40k universe!
Hivefleet Elder

I love this narrative
Sick end result!
I’m always happy to see someone’s process when doing anything
It provides great insight and ideas, at least for myself anyway
im honestly most intrigued how good and fleashy that melted polystyrene looks. It would be amazing for doing a game board where the tyranids are slowly dissolving the planet during the battle and the defender are desperately are trying to stop the inevitable consumption of their planet.

Coming here after watching "RAGTAG" on TTTR
All I hear is Meiuriina in Murray's VOICE!!!
AAAAAAHHH😄😅❤❤❤
GREAT video!!!
Love this style of video. It's interesting to see how a project evolves over its course.
I love this way of video. Murray its great to see the your 'brain' process its one of the things I struggle to find the colours that will work for me. This is great I hope we get loads more of this.
I prefer the build it as you go video format. I think it helps to understand your process of thinking about how to problem solve
FINALLY a big yt channel paints some tyranids (nice job!) as for my hive fleet name; hive fleet gelda, meaning frozen in latin.
I really love your creative and painting styles, I would like to see more videos of your work
My brother is going to love this! He's a huge Tyranid fan playing around with his own idea of a custom hivefleet color palate, and this might inspire him further.
Hair dryers heat more gradually and deliver the heat less dramatically. Saves my details frome being melted up and allows for easier cooling.
Nah this video was fantastic, with equal parts amazing skill and brilliant methodology.
Keep up the amazing work and I cannot wait to see more bugs
The “murey’s brain (live feed) moment had me in absolute stitches love it so much 🤣🤣
if you are still looking for a name how about hive fleet Koguhpuk since they spent so much time frozen under the ice (according to google the Koguhpuk is an Inuit monster that lives underground to avoid the rays of the sun and only surface during the winter).

This is fluffing sick! Lowkey want to make my own tyranid drama now
Best Mini build on this channel yet!
Custom Space marines, Tau, and now Tyranids too? This is gonna be so sick!
Love that mini diorama. Hive Animatur Corpus (corpse animator roughly) in keeping with the tradition of weird latin names.
I was thinking of hive fleet Banshee, as they herald the death of a loved one/ family member and the patterns on their backs sort of resemble red eyes of which banshees are said to have. Also RIP Guardsman may he live on within the great devourer.
I loved this vid Murey. And as a fleet name I throw out the ice "The Unending Frost Tendrils"...
Absolutely awesome Murray! Dave and Jazza's armies won't know what hit em'!! 😂😂😂😂
Hive Fleet Ymir
Jotunheim, Jotun, etc are all a bit on the nose imo, but Ymir is one of the names of the father of all giants, and sounds a little alien-esque to me.
Frost Giants are the first of his progeny, and the Google bit I read says he was created when the first drops of water fell from the ice of (places), which to me mirrored the "born from the ice" motif these had in the battle report
I hope to incorporate some custom 3D printed bits to this army!
I'm so looking forward to a tyranid kill team to come out to be able to attempt to mimic this awesome paintjob, they look stunning!
Squeeeee, thank you Murray! Made my day 🙂
Great video. Did not expect where this would go and loved the ride.
I enjoyed this format. It is similar to my painting process.
Its a name I gave mine, but I don't mind sharing. In keeping with mythical sea monster names, Hive Fleet Cetus.
That turned out so cool!
The Guardsman's friends tell stories of his bravery
Amazing little diorama! And yeah, this video format is entertaining to watch so, keep at it I say.
Would def. like more like this - was a fun Project!
I like the style of vid you created Murray. Great work man
Your painting style is so interesting and flavourful! I love it! Haha such interesting uses of colours! Very inspirational haha
I suggest "Ice Morays" or "Frost Muraena" for the fleet name. It includes: 1) the terrain type 2) the creators' name in a roundabout way 3) I think morays are a weird kind of predators of the animal kingdom, which fits the tyranid theme.
This was fun, seeing the process is this was really cool to see.
does that paint style have a name? its so fast and fluid and makes such unique looking minis, they look more like paintings than miniatures!!!
Love this! I also loved how you used the rattlecans. I have starting using zenithal highlighing, but haven't played around much with different colors for the highlighting/shading. I do want to play some Tyranids again, it's been so long... They've changed so much since 4th ed though
I really like how this diverges from the traditional implication of any Tyranid presence = the planet is doomed, it's only a matter of time
Love that multi model piece, looking forward to seeing more!
Love it! I like the sound of hive fleet Ymir!
Well done dear. The diorama just hits that note from old Japanese films were it cuts from a sweeping pan of a battle to an intense moment of a random guy holding onto his severed arm as the enemy runs over him. Intense, but well done. Hive Fleet Kurosawa?
