well this is not meant to be a realistic model of the mamoth. This is a different alien creature that is named mastadon. Also Mastadon means "Breast Tooth" ( from the nipple like teeth they have lol) in greek so there ya go.
Actually this thing has scales and a tail. Also a head crest/ shield and a beak like a ceratopsian. Instead of horns it has tusks like elephant species but more... like the extinct Gomphotherium (has 4 tusks). So it´s obviously a Ceratopsian-Proboscidea HYBRID. ;) And if the creator of this figure sais: *It´s a giant warthog* ...we all are wrong
Please make some kind of massive cuthulu/lovecraftian diorama. Seeing you all make a diorama like that would be AMAZING
WOW this is so cool!! I love everything you guys do! Ever since tabletop time's reboot, I've been wanting to try out mini painting cuz you always make it looks so fun but also very approachable and I finally bought some second hand 40k minis! I can't wait to rebinge all your videos to soak up all the tips and knowledge to finally try it myself. Thank you for all the awesome work you guys do😄❤
Elephant Fact: When an elephant has nice thick fur to keep it warm when it's chilly out, that's a mastodon. Since the dino onesie is cute and fluffy, it is tempting to make an exception.
That's not a mini anymore .. it's a MEGA!! Something I really love that y'all always do with your basing is always adding weight around their feet. The way the sand, glue, and bug mixture pushed up against the big boys feet really gave it it's weight, and grounded it! It's a detail I always appreaciate seeing!
My gf would love this army of Jackals and prehistoric creatures. For someone able to name every single dinosaur, this is the perfect thing. Plus the Mastodon looks crazy good 👍🏻
Anyone else really confused by the name "Mastodon"? They are usually more elephant like...and this looks like Triceratops (with the exception of the tusks)
A beautiful paint job and the model is amazing, the only thing I would have done differently would have been to make all the metal Bronz and copper to keep that primitive feel to the model.👍
I have plans to print a Jackals army that involves one of these amazing minis, but my printer isnt big enough (OG Elegoo Mars lol), so may have to hijack my mates Saturn absolutely stellar work on this big beastie!
I think the dino itself really could have benefited from a nice oil wash to make all those scales pop. Obviously time is a factor in these videos, and it looks great but damn, an oil wash across the board I feel would have just taken this to 11/10.
That is such an awesome model and you totally brought it to life,, OPR has some amazing stuff. I'd love to see like a true OPR battle report, give some exposure to them instead of certain other (bloated) games, you know.
This is such an impeccably cool model - and I'm glad it will remain removable for use in games. It's too cool of a piece to not allow for some tabletop time (ha)
That looked like milliput. It's similar in that it's a two part epoxy clay... But it's a bit cheaper... Comes in a few colours and a few different grades (that do all vary in price tbf) can be easily found on amazon.
@@BowerBomB wonder if ive only found bad miliput or if ive been using it wrong. Ive had nothing but headaches using it as it tends to 'slip out' of what im patching up.
Mini means miniature, as in miniature scale if it's smaller than what it represents, it is by definition miniature, so yes you could have a mini the size of a bus and it would still be a mini
Hey guys, are u UK based? If so can you advise where u got your foam? The hot knife and the silicon glue u used, I'm wanted to make a diorama but am clueless as to what foams I can use
Don't know where you'd get it but most diorama makers i know use insulation foam from a hardware store. You can get it fairly cheap and in different thicknesses. Tabletop are in Australia so don't think they can help either. Any commenters in the UK?
rust is almost impossible in hot deserts because there is next to no humidity to form the rust.. this is nitpicky i know but the model is astonishing nevertheless great work!
It sucks that they never actually showed it in comparison to something, like next to them on the table or something similar. We never got to see how big it actually is all put together. We know its big, but we still dont know how big. I just wish there was a comparison shot
I love it! However, that big horn/plate on top of the Mastodon's head should be the same colour as the tusks and his toes imo. I checked photos of horned lizards, and some do have coloured horns, but all of the horns are the same colour, just like the colour of our hair, doesn't matter where it is, it's the same colour.
ok but how the hell did you run out of black spray paint? you own a hobby shop and also work at the tabletop time studio. i'm genuinely curious. how did you run out??

Masterdon was a wolly mammoth in America
Mastodon? Does not look like a mammut.
It's not only a mini; It still only counts as one!
ha, gimley reference.
Appreciate the reference
Love this, totally love this
Mastodon is a mammoth, so it's not technically a dinosaur or even a lizard but the paint job does look good 👍.
mastodons are not actually a kind of mammoth, they're just different animals
well this is not meant to be a realistic model of the mamoth. This is a different alien creature that is named mastadon. Also Mastadon means "Breast Tooth" ( from the nipple like teeth they have lol) in greek so there ya go.

that's a big chunk of resin, nice job on the print. printing a huge many pieced model is truly a project. It's quite an undertaking, mad props

The pachyderm clan expresses its deep frustration with the misnomer of this vile beast as a venerable mastodon…
Elephant Fact: When an elephant has nice thick fur to keep it warm when it's chilly out, that's a mastodon. Since the dino onesie is cute and fluffy, it is tempting to make an exception.
Yes this really annoyed me too!
Wow this looks awesome love it. PS a mastodon was related to a wooly mammoth and it had fur.
Yes triggering annoying misnomer… grrr…
It's still wierd to see you in jumpers and onesies when it was 41°C here yesterday... Sweet build and paintjob btw!
I have also got this model and was considering printing it out, such a large model to print out though. This makes me really want to now :D
I would love to see you do another One Page Rules video featuring you painting a jackals army. I'd love it
The dry brushed scratches on the top floor plates looks super rad. Big fan of the detail it gives
As I said today, this has to be one of the coolest projects you guys have done!
Yes!! Would love to see more videos like this!!
A giant dinosaur elephant with high-tech dingo warriors in the middle of a desert, the concept is absolutely ridiculous and I love every bit of it
Its not a dinosaur
Y’all are adorable when you film together
Awesome Diorama, I do hope to see more Dinosaur in battle armor. See you guys next time. :D
Wow that beast is amazing... my jore was open in chock through most of that thankyou!
the process was so satisfying to watch!
Yo wassup youtube
The Jackals give me a Mad Max feel
Very impressive model. Where do you store all these projects?
Top class painting, the diorama so perfect.
Ahh very cool. I wasnt familiar with One Page Rules. I'll be sure to check them out for sure!

Actually, a Mastodon is not a Dinosaur, but a Prehistoric Mammutidae
More mat with less gloss dusty looking not new out box. Wonderful work amazing skills never really imagined it would look this amazing.
it turned out amazing
My gf would love this army of Jackals and prehistoric creatures. For someone able to name every single dinosaur, this is the perfect thing. Plus the Mastodon looks crazy good 👍🏻
Anyone else really confused by the name "Mastodon"? They are usually more elephant like...and this looks like Triceratops (with the exception of the tusks)
I also thought that Mastodons had fur, like wooly mammoths, but I guess the 3d Modelers took some creative liberties :)
@@dorkyface lol so true!!
Yes paleo-nerd here very triggered. This is a chemical beast a mix of mammoth and dinosaur and NOT a mastodon!
@@valasafantastic1055 Plus they interchanged Dino and Mastodon and I was like *cringe*
@@ImCassy Strong painful cringe! Missed half of the words in the video due to painful cringe response!

NOOOOOOOOOO you guys beat me too it :((( just finished printing it out.....
Looks gorgeous. Love it
lovely work i wanna see this thing in a battle report!!!!
This beast actually looks like the love child of a mastodon and a Styracosaurus.
Amazing work! I love it!
Thanks for sharing your work 😊
Looks so cool!!
“Sand, sawdust, glue, water and… a bug!”
Grandfather Nurgle approves of your sacrifice.

Wow! Will there someday perhaps be dingos in the Space Bear universe? You both did an amazing job, and the presentation and music were first rate.
What an awesome paint job on this " mastosaur!". The detail is so good! Thank you. Learned a couple of different techniques.
What colors did you use for the Jackals themselves?
This is INCREDIBLE. You guys might like collaborating with Studson Studio. He does insanely detailed dioramas from similar genres.
I wanna see more behind the scenes stuff from tabletop time on Jazza studios
How'd the internal curing go?
This would be cool to see a primeursa universe battle report on, seeing more planets would be dope
I was expecting this to be a model for Jazza’s Orruks (still waiting on Episode 2) but this is also good.
Edit - Also, do you guys do commissions?
The only thing that isn't a mini was that bug XD love your work as always!
Awesome job, ngl! 🤓👍🏻
That is such an awesome model and you totally brought it to life,, OPR has some amazing stuff.
I'd love to see like a true OPR battle report, give some exposure to them instead of certain other (bloated) games, you know.
Oy, did you really call a mastodon a dinosaur?
In fairness that thing is closer to a dinosaur than it is to a real mastodon.
@@andrewness Still grinds my gears
nice sweater dave
This is such an impeccably cool model - and I'm glad it will remain removable for use in games. It's too cool of a piece to not allow for some tabletop time (ha)
That's gorgeous! And I would call it a bigature. I wonder how tall would it be if it actually where 1:1 scale
Nice mini! Also is this the first ever recorded case of Corax White spray going on nicely? I thought it impossible!
1:12 The forbidden spaghetti
WOW!❤
Super cool
the jackals is a great race I really in to test them out
Lol nice elephant
Edit thisodel would be a great alternative to a mumakil (war elephant) for lord of the ring.
All I can here is Gimli saying "That still only counts as one"
You could almost play it as Orkeosaure on 40K :)
It is very nice with some Boyz on board !
what do you guys normally do after finishing a diorama like this?
Is this about gargantuan Squiggoth sized?
Zorpazorp: “say massive one more time”
At first I thought it was the elephant creatures from Lord of the Rings….
Same, was a little disappointed it wasn't. Still cool.
I could use this in my Seraphon army!
I see this model and all I see is a future Ork Squiggoth conversion for the future lmao
what are you using for gap filler? greenstuff drives me nuts for filling long thin gaps.

A mini that’s almost cool enough to distract from Jenn dressed as a dinosaur.
If I don't have a 3D printer can I just buy the mini premade from the site
A Mastodon isn't looking like this
But it is an Elephant
How many points must it cost to field that thing in a game
Mastadon: ITS A DINOSAUR
rust is almost impossible in hot deserts because there is next to no humidity to form the rust.. this is nitpicky i know but the model is astonishing nevertheless great work!
Have you ever been to Ghana? Cold nights produce a lot of condensation and rust abounds.
God, I wanna print that bad boy so bad
Why wouldn't you have a shot of the full model and diorama at the end? The panning b-roll is nice but it doesn't show you much.
It can be dusty but not rusty i don't cus there's no water in the desert wouldn't you think but it came out really good
I'll watch that video in a minute, I have to go walk my massive lizard called a dog xD
Jen's dino onsie still has a tag I wanna reach thru the screen and tear it off so bad
I put forward the question whether a Warhammer warlord titan or manta count as "minis" if yes then this most certainly does
It sucks that they never actually showed it in comparison to something, like next to them on the table or something similar. We never got to see how big it actually is all put together. We know its big, but we still dont know how big. I just wish there was a comparison shot
I did not know that trick about hot water to remove supports
Where has that been all my hobby life??
I love it!
However, that big horn/plate on top of the Mastodon's head should be the same colour as the tusks and his toes imo.

the new color "Car Key" 😜🙏
Trust an ozzy to know how to accurately paint a giant terrifying lizard beast
Can't wait to see this show up in Reboot.Exe. Looks great.
imo you shouldve textured the rock backdrop more but the mini is great
ok but how the hell did you run out of black spray paint? you own a hobby shop and also work at the tabletop time studio. i'm genuinely curious. how did you run out??
Am I the only one that really wanted to see the beetle on the diorama
Great video but the music volume when nobody's talking is too loud
13:14 keep the babies away!
Isn't that just the giant creature from Lord Of The Rings - Two Towers. 'Cause it sure looks like it
When your mini becomes a maxi
those dingos though.
if this dino was real it would be sooo BIG so this is a still a mini
