If you get a chance check out Back in the box by hawkwind live. That's a good live performance. But yes, this is a great show. Worth getting on Blu-ray.
I just saw them 2 days ago, and im still shocked. Their performance of anesthetize was absoulutely mind blowing, and you should have seen the audience!
Just wanted to throw in a quick note to say that John Wesley, the guitarist on the far left who took the first solo, is hands down one of the nicest musicians I have ever met. I have had the good fortune to meet him twice when he was opening for Marillion, and he was incredibly gracious, kind, and keen to give full credit to the other musicians in his band for their contributions. A World Class musician and absolute gentleman.
Totally agree. Wes was not only their live secret weapon (guitar and vox), but he's an incredibly nice guy. I got to meet him before a PT show in Philly with a few friends and he took the time to chat with all of us. Super cool memory for us. Porcupine Tree is one of the finest live bands I have ever seen.
I really love your reaction videos... and LOVE that you let the music play. I've just discovered PT. WOW!!!!! (but there's so much material to experience!!) PT are my new favourite band.
This band is a treasure and Steven Wilson is a genius. I have no words to describe Gavin's skill. It is a gift to the world that they have reunited. Please do yourself a favor and catch them live. Thank you Thomas!
Raider I'm 61 years old and was introduce to this band with this very song which just blew me away, and yes I will be seeing them 9/20 in Chicago. I couldn't get any of my friends to come (some just can't afford the price) but I was not going to miss this opportunity so I said screw it I'll go myself.
IMO the turning point in the music of PT was when Gavin Harrison joined them. His drumming put the music to a higher level. Same when he joined Pineapple Thief.
The trigger for Gavin joining PT was when Chris Maitland quite the band before recording In Absentia since Chris didn't like the direction Steve was taking the band in. For In Absentia Gavin was initially only hired as a section drummer to fill in for the departed Chris, but after the recording was asked to join the band full time. Good move! No doubt Gavin played a role in the new sound, but I think it was mostly driven by Steve. I like PT's full catalog, but my favourites are those with Gavin. Kind of missing Edwin on the new album.
I was introduced to this song three years ago on a reaction channel I subscribed to and been in love with this track forever. What a frickin masterpiece Anesthetize is. This band Porcupine Tree Mary Mother of GOD, so 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Is Steven Wilson is from another planet? I don’t know. The lead singer songwriter/ musician is absolute 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Thank you for reacting to this MASTERPIECE! I love it so much! ❤❤❤❤
I've been a fan of Porcupine Tree since first hearing about them in 2013. Sadly by then, they had stopped being a band, so I had no expectations of ever seeing them live except through their concerts available on UA-cam. I just found them incomparable live. But I will get to see them live for my 71st birthday in September in Denver. So sometimes wishes do come true. I will be traveling from Puerto Rico to see them. Glad you liked Anesthetize, but then again, what's not to like by Porcupine Tree?
Well done guys, you have now been Anesthetized. Your world will never be the same again. Next up has to be the title track of this album, ‘Fear of a blank planet’. That one also really needs attention to the lyrics
You beautiful, amazing people. Love you guys! Sorry I'm late in replying, but I've been away on holiday for a week and not had great access to wi-fi.Thanks so, so much for the shout out and we WILL do a collaboration! I'm glad you liked this live version, and glad you both got to it too!
What I like the most about Porcupine Tree is Steven Wilson's mind. The brainwaves that make him Genesis flow into Symphony X, avant-garde prog-rock into agressive prog-metal. It's magic. Like soft cooked bratwurst and chili tacos on the same plate. Cheers Nick & Lex. Warm greetings from Belgium
I know what you mean.....blown away. The whole Tilburg concert is out of this world. Can't get any better. About 15 years ago a friend was visiting me in the forest with his son for some days and before they left my friend told his son to leave all they had done on my computer. It was there for one and a half year. I did try some songs every month, but no. Then suddenly after one and a half year I found the song that opend the door, then I didn't listen to anything else for more than a year, in my house, in the car. The Tilburg concert is my all time favortite.
Hearing them play like ten feet away was so amazing. Git my ticket for radio city music hall in September. After about ten shows of porcupine tree and Steven Wilson solo about ten times I can not get enough live shows.
This is probably my favourite PT track and this live performance is just amazing. All band members were on point throughout the whole track and Gavin - well what can be said about his drumming, it’s nothing short of perfection. Thanks for reacting to this guys.
Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson, and his Band members are amazing all togethers, not only this album, but all what I am listening from them are very beautiful a good finished job, Steven is a performer also in the solo songs that he dit, also a word of you guys, is really a pleasure to listening yours comments and reactions...you are simply an amazing duo, stay like this !
What ?!? First time listening, guys, really ? 😵I'd almost like to be in Lex's shoes to experience again my first "blown away" sensations! 🤪🥳🤯😎I own the dvd/blu ray of this fabulous concert, bought when it came out in 2010. Very precisely, it's been recorded at "013" (Poppodium), Tilburg, The Netherlands on 15th and 16th October 2008. At the time, Porcupine Tree is : Steven Wilson, Gavin Harrison, Richard Barbieri (keyboards) and Colin Edwin (bass, but he's no longer part of the band ☹for their unexpected but stupendous come back with a new album and a Tour). + John Wesley (guitars & backing vocals), here, a very great guy & gifted musician who had completed the band on stage since the mid-2000s.
The new album is great, but my favorite is The Incident. I think every track is great on that album. My favorite songs, among many of theirs, are Black Dahlia, Flicker, and Drown With Me. From the new album, the best ones are Rats Return and Herd Culling.
My first live experience with Porcupine Tree was at NEARfest 2001 in Bethlehem, PA. Lightbulb Sun was the band's new album at the time. Their performance was lightbulb shattering (literally). Afterwards there was a set maximum decibel limit at future NEARfests. Good times, for sure, and a wonderful weekend of music back then.
Here is a link to the concert footage I found for that show. It is only a mile from my house but I did not discover them until 2008. ua-cam.com/video/nbqHZVZQ65M/v-deo.html
And they’ve already confirmed they’re playing this live on the new tour. I have tickets for London. Hope you get tickets, love your energy. This was the first Porcupine Tree song I ever heard, this live video in fact and I still have the same wow feeling 8 years later.
I heard Porcupine Tree for the first time about 5 or so years ago ( I'm 62) and IMMEDIATELY bought everything in the catalog, including Steven Wilson's solo stuff and his work with Blackfield (another ridiculously good collaboration), and never looked back. Steven Wilson rarely makes a bad song ( I would argue that Voyage 34: The Complete Trip is his worst outing excluding Phase 1) and whatever he touches turns to gold. He is not the godfather of progressive rock though as you mentioned but more a preservationist of the genre in his remixes and musical influences (notice I said remixes and NOT remastering because there is a vast difference between the two, remastering is just a marketing excuse to sell more previously released cd's by just making the music louder for radio and for cars, it does little to improve the sound like remixing actually does) I particularly enjoy his later more heavy stuff because as you both say he mixes his music up. His heavy stuff has peaks and valleys and does not bang you over the head for 6-10 minutes or longer, he gives his music time to breathe like a feature film would do and I appreciate it. Even his hard stuff has melody and beauty just like his atmospheric musical passages which elevate you and the music. Just to button this up, when you hear a Porcupine Tree song you know it's going to have every element you want in prog music, melody, atmosphere, head banging, peaks and valleys, and expert musicianship. PS: listen to Phase 1 of Voyage 34 and it's literally Pink Floyds Another Brick in The Wall riff slowed down just a bit for about 3-4 minutes, then it's his take on the PF sound complete with a Gilmour reminiscent extended guitar solo, its the best tune on the album. As always keep up the great work and keep loving each other.
This concert was recorded in 2008. On stage (L>R) are John Wesley / Richard Barbieri / Wilson / Gavin Harrison / Colin Edwin ... great reaction guys ... the bewilderment is most appropriate!
Hi again ! Guys, I just finished watching on my big tv. I have the dvd of this concert and have watched many times by myself, so it was wonderful to watch and share the experience. Thankyou. May I suggest, it's Saturday so a little later put your feet up and watch the entire concert. Just enjoy it without having to sit in those chairs doing a reaction. Take some time out for yourselves....Hey they did another earlier live concert on dvd which I'm sure you can pick out something to react to. The concert is called " Arriving Somewhere" and filmed at Park West Chicago in 2007. The footage you just watched is from 2010. Have a great night whatever you decide and thankyou again. Love your company ! Byeee Jim X
You need to try The Pineapple Thief too. Another Modern British Prog unit with roots in Porcupine Tree. Gavin Harrison also drums for them. If you like this you will dig them as well.
Oh yes, and you once did a reaction to David Sylvian (hope you come back to him soon). David Sylvian was originally in a band called Japan, and their keyboard player was Richard Barbieri, who is now the keyboard player for Porcupine Tree.
After seeing an Allan Holdsworth shirt on you I had to immediately subscribe to you! You my friend, are a true music fan. Allan simply is the greatest guitarist of all time, at least in my opinion. And this is potentially one of the best live performances ever! Porcupine Tree are among the modern prog kings. Keep it up guys!
@@NicknLex Indeed! It's sad to see how little recognition he gets, especially with people my age. I'm 15, and I have everlasting respect for him. I love seeing anyone praising him. Also a suggestion, you guys should check out Vola's first 2 albums if you haven't already!
New sub! This is a perfect performance of a modern masterpiece. I absolutely LOVE this band. Have you heard Steven Wilson's solo material? He's incredible
@@NicknLex the main album I've listened to was The Raven that Refused to Sing, highly highly recommend. I'd listen to it now but I have C/C on the turn table... Ahhhhh hell I'm going to have to listen to it. 😁
My reaction was pretty much the same when I first heard and saw this. Astonishing x11! Please do check out Home Invasion, with Adam Holzman on keys (it's on the Home Invasion DVD, live at the RAH). He's a masterful musician and was part of SW's 'backing' band for a bunch of years.
The entire concert is a master class, seen a lot of great live bands and PT are the only band i have not seen but am desperate to. Thought i had missed my chance but now they are back i am waiting in hope they will come to Australia, Steven has been here as a solo artist so i have my fingers crossed.
Amazing song and reaction! This is the song that crossed me over from Rush to PT in 2007, given that Alex Lifeson performed the guitar solo in the first section. Alex lured me in so to speak, then PT sunk the hook with their incredible music. The second section (The Pills In Me) is one of the most excellent passages that I have ever experienced in rock music. That riff and that groove! And the third section is so ethereal and beautiful. Glad you are both enjoying it as much as many of us have over the last 15 years. Can't wait to see them again in DC on September 18th. Highly recommend Way Out Of Here, Cheating the Polygraph, Arriving Somewhere (Not here, and Trains. So many great songs...All monster musicians and Steven Wilson simply is a mad genius. Cheers and happy listening!
Check out the stick marks on Gavin's powdered heads. He is so meticulously precise with every stroke. And imo his secret weapon is his cymbal work. His parts are gorgeously perfect.
I truly appreciate you turning me on to this band! I am in awe every time I hear another track. I loved Nick's reaction to the studio version too, but it was great to see Lex, and also to watch the live video. It added another layer.
Great song, so glad you both got to see them live. My intro to PT was as an opening act for Yes (without Jon Anderson). I didn't know there was an opening act and PT was already on stage when I got there. I was 5th row, center stage. I sat down and was immediately engulfed in their sound. Blown away is an understatement. I didn't even care if Yes performed that night. I just wanted more Porcupine Tree. The next day was the beginning of my PT/Steven Wilson collection. Check out Steven's side projects, Blackfield and No-Man when you get a chance.
Great reaction to a fantastic band and song. I first discovered them in the summer of 2008 while recovering from a bad car accident (some idiot ran a red light). That gave me plenty of time to go through their entire catalog and I was hooked. Fortunately I was able to see them for The Incident tour and then saw Steven for the Hand Cannot Erase and the Raven That Refused To Sing tours. Wish I could see them this year but the tickets I saw were too much. Hopefully they will create a DVD of the tour.
You both are awesome in your reactions! Nick you nailed it when you said “It’s just enough”, though you didn’t finish your comment which I think was exactly how I felt. When I listened to them the first time some 15 days ago, my thoughts were they play just enough of metal/death metal, etc. They take you to the edge of almost to much and then bam they transition. It’s a masterpiece. Like I said, I’m a fan of “15 days”. I’m 59 and until 15 days ago Pink Floyd was my favorite band for the last 45 yrs. I’ve already accumulated 14 CD/DVD’s of PT with more on the way. I bought tickets for the Denver show(like you I wished it was Red Rocks) and am working on plans to see them at least twice but more likely 3-4 times this tour.
I have 'dabbled' into Porcupine Tree's music for a while, without committing. I had heard, and enjoyed, the title track of this album, but this video has sealed the deal! I've just placed the order on Amazon and will be receiving the album tomorrow. Thanks guys for a lovely video, and for pushing me 'Treewards'!
I often wonder what part of the country or the world Porcupine tress grow. If I ever find one I'll be sure not to get to close. Never back into a porcupine tree, lol. I do love the title of the song. Gotta say it's a grooving song with a great jam session thrown in.
I'm so glad that you did this! It's an amazing song. I saw them live during the Incident tour and they only played the middle, heavy section of this song. Brilliant, of course.
This particular entire concert (Live @ Tilburg) IMHO is the absolute zenith of their career as a band. I have this on HiRes DVD and probably play it for friends and family at least once a month. It never gets old...thanks for doing this cut from the Live show. Lex so happy you enjoyed it. I have the feeling you will return to it over and over and the concert just gets better and better. Thanks Again!
So glad Lex got to experience this song! You should do a full album react to this record! It is a masterpiece! Im obsessed with steven wilson! And gavin harrison is a genius drummer! Awesome reaction guys! Love you and your channel so much!
You mentioned the solo sounded like alex lifeson, and you're totally right! That's because the original solo in the studio version is actually played by alex himself!
The guitars are PRS (for quite pragmatic reasons, I recall from an interview I saw - great guitars, reliable, and they could keep a stock of them, swap them out freely or something). Look at where other guitars have their fret dots. PRS have a picture of a bird on the wing there. Hope you guys make it to the concert. Amazing experience, I would think. The other guitarist is John Wesley. He has a bit of a story, which pivoted around this time, this band. He was hired for the tour, but had hopes that this would become his musical home, but the band was disbanded soon after. Then he was hit with a divorce, and found himself out of a job with a little girl to be the only parent of. The pressure was on him to "get a real job", but he wanted to continue living as a musician. His solution was to give himself a crash course in being a barroom one-man-band, and with this, was able to continue in music (and keep up his skills, put out albums of his own band sometimes), as well as raise his daughter. So it all ends happily ever after. However the last song of his I saw on UA-cam was a bit less happy-ended. *To Outrun the Light* ua-cam.com/video/RDtk2Dc_Isg/v-deo.html ( I suspect you might like it, nonetheless.)
Steven Wilson loves *Cardiacs* (has called the late Tim Smith a genius - and he doesn't just throw that word around casually). He did a beautiful cover of one of their songs on a benefit album made to raise money for Tim's medical expenses. (If you get at all into the joys of his music, you'll eventually learn his life took a truly brutally tragic turn in the end - an end that lasted about 12 years). Here's the Steven Wilson cover of *Stoneage Dinosaurs* ua-cam.com/video/OzglcGQHUKE/v-deo.html (You might find the rest of Tim's music takes quite a while to get into. I just say so, because it was like that for me. Took about 2 years, I'd say. 2 years to begin to hear that the fooling around was taking place around something unique and beautiful. Trouble with "intensely unique" music is that there's no "roadmap" for it. You have to learn to navigate it from scratch. Sometimes it's like listening to music as someone first experiencing music itself. Almost. That's an exaggeration, but in the case of some of the songs, not too much of one. Anyway, it's probably not good material for building a channel, but if you trust Steven's judgement, maybe persist with trying to get into Cardiacs, if it's not just love at first sight? Some people just get it right away, so maybe this is just me being a bit dumb about this. I had a few songs I found amusing to listen to, so tried a few more, found a few I liked the melody of enough to listen again, ... and over that 2 years I reeled myself in like a nice cooperative fish.)
Saludos! 🤟🎶
I'll be seeing Porcupine Tree in September in L.A. can't wait. Also Roger Waters, and honestly I can't say which I'm more excited about. Wondering if you guys have heard the new Album?
I’ve been a huge PT and SW fan for nearly 20 years. Have seen PT play live twice and SW play live 4 times. I have tickets to see PT on this new tour in September in Philly. I absolutely cannot wait and am so pumped to experience their live genius again! This recording of Anesthetize from 2008 is brilliant! Thanks for reacting to this one!
I've watched/listened to this since it came out, but actually, I never exactly what all of the lyrics were till Lex turned them on. Also, there's two spots in here where Gavin just blows up a lick and Richard gives him this "look". Lex caught it both times.
What's all this I keep hearing about Porky Pinetree? Freakin' me aout! Fact is, I was going to tell you that my other favorite music reviewers are all over Porky Pinetree, but I don't know them that well, and so this was an overdue gift to myself, because wow. Music lives! Progress lives! And these are the good ol' days. People will look back on the music being created by masters like Mr. Jim Newstead, and yet others, like yer Porky Pinetree here, and conclude that the spirit of creation lives on, and is, indeed, in very capable cloven hooves. Jim recently had a best of prog and best of metal "contest", the results of which are most informative, and surely to your tastes. The reviewers who have reviewed the prog classics (if correctly reviewed) are all basically what we used to call "heads", meaning "nose breathers" and "book readers". Y'all have cemented a solid fan of Mr. Pinetree. Peace through warmth and kindness.
I just watched them do this song live in a performance every bit as good as the one here. It was the highlight of the show for me, being in a crowd of people all going nuts takes it to another level. It's a miracle they put out new music and are touring after 12 years off so if you can get to a show, do it! They haven't lost a thing and you may never get another chance to experience it.
This is absolutely one of the best live performances on UA-cam. Although I own the DVD, I never tire of watching UA-cam reactions to this epic performance! If you really want to see Gavin Harrison show off, please do the live version of Hatesong. Actually, pretty much the entire band shows off in that performance. It's insane!
Truly great performance. Marillion Gaza live is up there with this. So much amazing music to listen to. I really hope Porcupine Tree add more to their tour next year. Feeling lonely here in New Zealand.
This band is so talented and versatile. Their prog and hard sides are probably my favorite but even their softer side is awesome. If you get the chance check out the hauntingly ethereal Lazarus. The song can only be described as beautiful.
Steven commented he likes to hold it low and makes him feel comfortable. He said he feels some guitarists hold it up to high. I guess it is a personal preference. All his shows he is barefoot with him usually standing on a rug. Interesting how he presses all the pedals barefoot.
OOPs, forgot to comment🙃 ... I guess it's all said about PT... but I can add, that O13 in Tilburg is a great concert location, saw Ayreon's Electric Castle there ... hope for more soon. The Universal Migrator double CD played in full would be a dream for 2023 🤘
My favorite thing about Steven Wilson is that he can’t even read music. He has no great knowledge of musical theory. No formal education in music or sound engineering. Now think about all he has accomplished on just raw talent. It’s crazy. Great job
Yes. I think most of the best musicians and composers didn't read music. Allan Holdsworth didn't read music. Mark Knopfler, Jimmy Hendrix , Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman, Stevie Wonder, the Beatles ! I read music and I know theory pretty well but I rather not because you do somehow set boundaries that a self taught musicians don't take into consideration. You're just free of rules
Great comment, Guile ... it reminds me of something Guthrie Govan said when introducing "Gaping Head Wound" at a concert. "Sometimes, I just want to hear something."
This is one of the best performances I’ve ever seen in my life. I can’t get enough of it.
If you get a chance check out Back in the box by hawkwind live. That's a good live performance. But yes, this is a great show. Worth getting on Blu-ray.
Yeah I've probably watched/listened to this a few hundred times. Everything just clicks.
I just saw them 2 days ago, and im still shocked. Their performance of anesthetize was absoulutely mind blowing, and you should have seen the audience!

Thank you for sharing that! ❤️
I like to call Wes “the fifth Porcupine” 🙂…..
Nice to know. Good player
Yes seen him in 91supporting marillion brilliant musician
Holy hand grenades!! I came to your channel for the Tool reactions, but it looks like I've got a great new band to follow here. Thanks, y'all!!!
I really love your reaction videos... and LOVE that you let the music play. I've just discovered PT. WOW!!!!! (but there's so much material to experience!!) PT are my new favourite band.
I went in Barcelona to this exactly tour, amazing, goosebumps.
I was lucky enough to see them live on 3 tours.
The band has stated they will be performing this song on the new tour!
Can’t wait! Absolute masterpiece
And I can't fecking wait.
Gonna be at the Toronto tour opener in a few days. I’m not excited at all.
They did! It was awesome, of course.
THE best song from PT ever!!!!!! THE best live performance of this song ever!!!!! Such a gem, such a beauty, such emotions!!!!
This band is a treasure and Steven Wilson is a genius. I have no words to describe Gavin's skill. It is a gift to the world that they have reunited. Please do yourself a favor and catch them live.

Absolutely. Gavin brings so much music talent and sound engineering to every band he plays with.

Yes!!!
yeah man, that is insane!

So sweet Jim!! 🥲 P. S. We’re also stocked that we’re about to buy tickets to see them in Sept!!! YAY!!!!
PT are the GOAT. I am 64, have seen and heard many awesome bands, but PT has so many layers, so much richness, you can never tire of them.
The shortest 17 min ever!
Awesome P.T.

The first time I heard this song I totally fell in love with Porcupine tree forever and ever....❤❤❤
This is insanity! Best song on the planet for me. Thank you guys for this great reaction and amazing channel :)
Saw them live last night the only UK gig in Manchester, so glad i got to see them live and they chose my locality to play fantastic show ❤❤❤
I was there too, they were simply brilliant. Hands down the best band I've seen live.
Glorious weather as well ! 👍🏻
You're right Nick, Just enough death metal!
Porcupine Tree is one of the bands that I now listen to and discovered through you guys! This was a great reaction!
Thank you for this reaction vid as this has been my very most top favorite song and album of SW's/Porcupine Tree's💙🎵🎶

that entire concert sounds fantastic. Many people say they sound better live than studio!
Most great bands sound even better live.

They played the song on the current tour. Saw them in Berlin together with my son. Extraordinary!
Just saw them live this past fall in Amsterdam, and they were amazing.
November 2002, PT opened for Yes at Newark's Performing Arts Center. What a treat.
You have to do Dark Matter live from this same concert. Also Hatesong live from an earlier concert in Chicago. Amazing songs and performances.
I´ll see them in october here in Chile. 😬✌
You'll appreciate this sir. I just bought C/C on white vinyl. Steven Wilson saved vinyl IMO
I am going to Toronto to watch them live, hope to see you there as well.
This concert was recorded in 2008. On stage (L>R) are John Wesley / Richard Barbieri / Wilson / Gavin Harrison / Colin Edwin ... great reaction guys ... the bewilderment is most appropriate!
Thank you both for listening and reacting to such great music!
Finally I see PC live, November 6th in Oberhausen
Greetings from Germany ✌🏼🤟🏼
Byeee Jim X
Gavin Harrison is simply BRILLIANT !!
Thanks for the love and support!! Long live Allan!! 😎 🤘
Yes not a lot but various tracks. We did hear the entire insurgentes album. That's a street in Mexico City! Love Steven
We mention our reaction to that in this video ;) Check it out!!
Fantastic reaction again guys 😁💙
The band said that they are definetely playing this one on the c/c tour🙌🏻
Love it. Amazing 🤩
Love this performance -- it's almost indistinguishable from the studio version. Except Alex Lifeson plays the solo in the studio...
Yay!!! 👏 Thank you for giving it a chance! ❤️
Yay!!! 👏 Thank you for giving it a chance! ❤️
Just watched Your clip and if You wonder if buy tickets… The Band confirmed playing Anesthetize on Tour;)
I often wonder what part of the country or the world Porcupine tress grow. If I ever find one I'll be sure not to get to close. Never back into a porcupine tree, lol. I do love the title of the song. Gotta say it's a grooving song with a great jam session thrown in.
PT already said in their coming Concert’s they will be performing Anesthetize song!!!
I'm so glad that you did this! It's an amazing song. I saw them live during the Incident tour and they only played the middle, heavy section of this song. Brilliant, of course.
New progressive rock metal, gavin monster, Steve genious
He's always barefoot live. Also, Alex Lifeson did that first solo on the album (which I think you mentioned).
Love it , love it, love it!!!!!
Here's the Steven Wilson cover of *Stoneage Dinosaurs* ua-cam.com/video/OzglcGQHUKE/v-deo.html
(You might find the rest of Tim's music takes quite a while to get into.
I got my tickets for 09/23 Dallas. Can't wait.
I'll be there as well with a friend coming from Memphis. I'd love to meet up with some fans before the show.
@@kevinhale1771 I am coming from Nashville. I just sent a Facebook PM to what appears to be your fb page. If that's you friend me and we can meet up.
To be fair, _Fear of a Black Planet_ IS an album, by the rap group Public Enemy. An intentional reference by the PT guys.
Saludos! 🤟🎶
finally...!!!
This is probably the greatest song and performance ever , in my humble opinion!!!
I'll be seeing Porcupine Tree in September in L.A. can't wait. Also Roger Waters, and honestly I can't say which I'm more excited about.
Wondering if you guys have heard the new Album?
British is best! I'm waiting for the new album to be delivered to me. Monday hopefully. Been a fan since 2000. Great great band.
The other guitarist/vocalist is John Wesley. Highly recommended. His 2016 album is great. Buy it. "A way you'll never be"
I will! thanks
Another great PT live performance you must check out is Arriving Somewhere But Not Here. Awesome!
Truly great performance. Marillion Gaza live is up there with this. So much amazing music to listen to. I really hope Porcupine Tree add more to their tour next year. Feeling lonely here in New Zealand.
Marillion Gaza live is so powerful.
Or This Strange Engine by them too
This band is so talented and versatile. Their prog and hard sides are probably my favorite but even their softer side is awesome. If you get the chance check out the hauntingly ethereal Lazarus. The song can only be described as beautiful.
To me they sound like a combo of Floyd and Tool that's why I love them so much
Steven commented he likes to hold it low and makes him feel comfortable. He said he feels some guitarists hold it up to high. I guess it is a personal preference. All his shows he is barefoot with him usually standing on a rug. Interesting how he presses all the pedals barefoot.
Lex and Nick. Are you going to the Denver show???
Yes we already got the tickets. Are you going too?
@@NicknLex
Yes. Closest they’re getting to Salt Lake is Denver, so maybe we’ll see you there. Very excited to see them live.
oh you've just started a whole new musical journey for sure. Steven Wilson is a legend. Porcupine Tree - "The best band you've never heard of"
John Wesley doing Alex Lifeson's solo from the album version. You guys should check out his solo work. It's really good. "Disconnect" is a good one.
Imagine there's people who have never heard this song, so sad
OOPs, forgot to comment🙃 ... I guess it's all said about PT... but I can add, that O13 in Tilburg is a great concert location, saw Ayreon's Electric Castle there ... hope for more soon. The Universal Migrator double CD played in full would be a dream for 2023 🤘
I laughed very hard when she said "he's so humble" because he's barefoot. I love Steven, but... GIRL! 😂 loved it! Great reaction.
