- There are so many things that I wish I knew before medical school and in this video we're going to talk about 7 important ones. From pre-med students, to current medical students, this video is about making the most of your medical training and providing realistic insight into the life of a doctor.
In my opinion one of the key messages from this video is about enjoying life at medical school, there are so many things to get involved with at university make sure you're taking proper breaks, and also have fun. Medicine is fantastic, but it is not life and if you work efficiently you don't need to spend all day, every day in the library.
Let me know your thoughts in the comments, do any of these surprise you? Or were these expected thoughts?

Completely agree with not making medicine life. "Medicine, law, business, engineering - these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life, but poetry, beauty, romance, love - these are what we stay alive for."
Well said ✌🏽
Definitely agree with it being not as hard as people think.. far too often I think medics particularly in pre-clin years have it ingrained in them that medical school is "supposed to be hard" and get overwhelmed. Life got so much easier when I ignored this myth and talked it on with a more chilled approach
For sure man, if you expect something to be tough it will be tough for you. Glad the chilled out approach is working for you
Great advice! I wish I knew about all of that before starting medicine. This video is definitely something I am going to go back to some day. I immensely enjoy being on the wards however I still want to have my own private life and need to find the balance in the future. I am going to focus more on the most common things as you suggested.
Glad it was helpful!
As someone who aspires to be a doctor this is really helpful, thank you so much
You're so welcome!
Congrats on 2k, brilliant video!
Cheers Ven, you’re almost at 1k 🙌🏾

Topnotch content, sir! Thank you so much! Will take these tips to heart as a 4th year med student. Can't wait to be like you! Hope you can also share what it's like in Manchester too 😄
Hey Padayon, that's great good luck for your med school studies. Where are you based? Manchester is awesome, everything is in lock down at the moment but I'd definitely recommend it as a place to work and live. Loads to do/see/eat!
@@Kiran.Morjaria that's great! I'd love to work in Manchester or London once I get GMC registration! Your videos inspire me to persevere in school. I'm your fan all the way from the Philippines! 😄

Is it possible to have a good work/life balance while being a junior doctor though? Or even as a consultant?
Just found the channel, thanks for the videos.
Yes, absolutely. Some specialities more than others though

I'm a 4th year medical student in russia,i have 2.5 years left until i complete medical school from here and i have literally just studied to pass my exams here which is very easy here ,do you think i can complete my preparation in the left time to appear for plab and what do you suggest i should do from now on if i want to settle as a doctor in uk in the future
Hey Aqib, good to hear from you. When is the exam? I'd say if you want to come to the UK sit the exam as soon as you can
@@Kiran.Morjaria i am a 4th year medical student right now so i will appear for the exam in 2023 probably after completing my medical degree from here
Sir do You know about perfusionist I have some doubt 😟
I’m not sure sorry!
Hello man, hope you good
Can u explain what is ‘ trust grade doctor’ ?
Hey Amjad, trust grade doctor is a doctor who is SHO (so equivalent level of FY2/CT1) but they are not in training. Does that make sense? If not I can explain more!
@@Kiran.Morjaria thank you! Can i have a full registration and work as FY1 as a trust grade doctor ?
@@amjadalnatour1597 yes you can, but why would you want to do that?
@@Kiran.Morjaria tahnk you so much for answering, cuz i am graduated from Europe we don’t do internship, and fy2 will be a huge responsibility for me. So i would like to take fy1
Bro are you from india .... ?? Because your name is similar to Indian name ?? .... by the way I love your content 💯💯
Indian but born in the UK 🇮🇳 🇬🇧
Thanks man!
Thank you man❤❤ .... I am very glad that you replied to my question 😍😊
Why did you change your channel name?
After feedback from people watching & some conversations with bigger UA-camrs I was recommended to change it (feedback was that "Another Indian Doctor" put me into a desi, or medical box and would limit growth in the future)
@@Kiran.Morjaria Exactly, I actually think the same. You can add vlogs+day in a life+ study with me + tech and your personal life if you want.
U dont take any risk if some one is here 1st tym and dont know ur name ...u have to introduce urself😂😂😆😂😆😂😆😂
Every time! At least you remember my name now 😉
Yes yessssss😆

i swear down you look like imad wasim from pakistan's cricket team lmao
Lol is that a compliment?
@@Kiran.Morjaria I think it is😂😂
