Ordering from Canadian online pharmacies is safe, just make sure they have the CIPA seal and check their customer reviews. CIPA members must adhere to strict quality control standards. Their prices are low since they procure their products from jurisdictions that have government imposed price controls. Most Canadian online pharmacies will connect you to a licensed pharmacist free of charge so you can speak with a professional druggist should you have concerns before making a purchase. Just avoid dodgy overseas sellers and you should be fine. Don't risk your health buying the fakes, it isn't worth it.
Excellent review. I work in this industry and believe you have hit on nearly all of the channels, concerns, and dangers. There is always the question of why the product costs so much more in the US, but that will require a full video into itself.
This is not an Ozempic only problem, it is an industry problem, the drug company sells to middlemen (PBM) who jack up the rates to insurance companies, insurance companies pay the middlemen what they ask based on what a PBM wants for it. But behind the scenes, the insurance companies buy/merge with a PBM, and then cry foul when they are the ones who can influence the PBMs they own. All the while, the "regulators" (congressman and women, etc.) are "sleeping" at the wheel, or in other words, making millions off lobbyists, speaking gigs, etc., and come out multi millionaires, and support funding the research with our tax dollars. Then, companies that make the drugs get patent protection, sell it across the world for whatever they can get, and then upcharge where they can in an effort to "fund the research" lol its just a cycle
Many health issues stem from a lack of self-discipline. Taking control of your diet and leading a healthier lifestyle can often reduce the need for medications like Ozempic, promoting better overall well-being.
Body positivity doesn't cure type 2 diabetes. It doesn't stop coronary artery disease, or the need for joint replacement surgery. It doesn't stop the cancers that obese people are more likely to get. Body positivity is great, if you are a healthy weight, otherwise these drugs are needed.
The issue with medications in America is that they know that we rely heavily on insurance to pay for our medications so they can charge a lot for these medications knowing the insurance companies will pay for them. For example for Wegovy, if you qualify for this medication: BMI >30 or have type 2 diabetes then insurance will cover this medication and the copay is 25 dollars. However if you are overweight but not obese and doesn’t qualify for the medication but want to pay out of pocket, then it becomes 1400 dollars. I think the black market attracts those people who don’t necessarily qualify for the medication otherwise but wants a quick fix for their weight problems

Seeing how almosy all the medicine in the US coats more over there than in the rest of the world I'd be shocked if the black market focused solely on ozempic
The real crime is how the pharmaceutical companies in the US are allowed to charge ridiculous high prices for products. This understandably leads people to seek other venues.
They're focusing on the counterfeit drugs and stopping the criminals, but if they would instead talk about and fix the root cause of the problem the market would disappear. The reason people are buying these things is because no one can afford $1000 for a drug. It goes to show how messed up the US health care system is, when you have to put your life on the line to go out and buy drugs online that might be counterfeit because the price of the legitimate drug is ridiculous.
here's a thought, -- if you want to curtail the counterfeiters, why do the companies dont just charge the same amount around the world? (psst, its not because they care about you)
The takeaway from this, is maybe drug companies shouldn't unnecessarily jack up the prices of their drugs in the US market. They do it not because they have to, but because they can.
I see these on Facebook marketplace all the time. On Reddit people were also discussing this, and when I advocated against buying ozempic off fb marketplace my comment was downvoted into oblivion
We need these meds to be affordable and available! The ridiculous prices and scarcity are pushing people to take horrible risks. With the crackdown on compounding pharmacy products, people are getting desperate.
So grateful to the companies for making these medications available to people who cannot afford the exorbitant charges we face. Thank you to all the compounding and black market companies looking out for the little guy! 🙏🏾🙏🏾
The real question should be is why are the drug companies allowed to charge over 10 times the amount for the same drug in different markets. That seems criminal? And to hear them take a moral high ground is laughable
I still love my LV reverse monogram kislux clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic.
Ironically if many of these companies just reduce their prices, it would shut down many of these markets and in the process of reducing prices they would make more money. The black market is showing them their prices are too high, just reduce your prices and sell more.

Well the price is why you have a black market. Seems like an easy issue to solve.
Am so glad people's eyes are open now. This is how a comment section should look like. These money hungry cooperations aren't fooling anyone anymore.
Anyone in Colorado wouldn't be shocked to find that in Boulder
Mazlar Mike Doustdar talking about counterfeit products while using a Dell with an Apple sticker over the logo 🤣🤣😂
South Park 😂😂😂
Why?
Can't it just be the same price everywhere? And then it would eliminate the black market

Many health issues stem from a lack of self-discipline. Taking control of your diet and leading a healthier lifestyle can often reduce the need for medications like Ozempic, promoting better overall well-being.
Ozempic for rich people. Rest should be body positive :)
or stop being fat and go on a diet
Body positivity doesn't cure type 2 diabetes. It doesn't stop coronary artery disease, or the need for joint replacement surgery. It doesn't stop the cancers that obese people are more likely to get. Body positivity is great, if you are a healthy weight, otherwise these drugs are needed.
@@ChineseWinnie Yes. Just stop using drugs, and go into rehab 🥸
Bring Stephanie Janis Stiefel on the show. She changed my life Financially I managed to grow a nest egg of around 120k to over a Million. I'm especially grateful to Stephanie Janis Stiefel, for her expertise and exposure to different areas of the market.
“It’s sad and I don’t know why people would do this”….hmm maybe bc your company charges over $1,000 for a 1 month supply!? 🤔
The question we should ask here is why the US list price is so high in comparison. It's one crook pointing to another crook
I’d like to hear them explain why Ozempic is sold for $64 in China and $100 in Europe, but more than $1000 in the US?
Well if its the actual product and they just ship from overseas because its cheaper then the problem is your price domestically is way too high
If it was actively not being price gouged and was readily available to patients criminals won't be selling them cheap
Seeing how almosy all the medicine in the US coats more over there than in the rest of the world I'd be shocked if the black market focused solely on ozempic
I love you so much! I recently just found your kislux and i’m in love!! Your videos are so fun and you energy is just MWAH! keep living your life
The real crime is how the pharmaceutical companies in the US are allowed to charge ridiculous high prices for products. This understandably leads people to seek other venues.
When the price of this product is 968 $ in the US this will never discourage people to buy it illegally online.
Thank you for covering this
Rewind, what? If it’s gonna cost that much more in the US it’s almost like you want a black market.
here's a thought, -- if you want to curtail the counterfeiters, why do the companies dont just charge the same amount around the world? (psst, its not because they care about you)
The takeaway from this, is maybe drug companies shouldn't unnecessarily jack up the prices of their drugs in the US market. They do it not because they have to, but because they can.
Good job Melissa! Good reporting and will share with those close, we all need to be aware. Long time viewer and follower of Fast Money also.
This is the exact plot of the South Park end of Obesity episode they did earlier this year in detail.
All i can think is south park
Background music at the beginning reminds me of South Park latest Obesity show🤔
So grateful to the companies for making these medications available to people who cannot afford the exorbitant charges we face. Thank you to all the compounding and black market companies looking out for the little guy! 🙏🏾🙏🏾
The real question should be is why are the drug companies allowed to charge over 10 times the amount for the same drug in different markets. That seems criminal? And to hear them take a moral high ground is laughable
Talk to the msrp price gougers
I still love my LV reverse monogram kislux clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic.
Ironically if many of these companies just reduce their prices, it would shut down many of these markets and in the process of reducing prices they would make more money.
The black market is showing them their prices are too high, just reduce your prices and sell more.
The question is also why the same exact legit drug is only $100 overseas but $1k in the USA. Why is the american market so exploited?
If a counterfeit product causes some harm that the real product does not, it can skew results when researching side effects. Imagine going to the ER and telling them you took Ozempic but it was a knockoff. 😮 How do they expect to treat you properly?!
Isn’t the real problem the cost of medicine in the US?
Why do you think people are looking for cheaper prices?
🤷🏻♂️
South Park is 6 months ahead of CNBC
people don’t need drugs to loss weight, just stop them from sodas, burgers, ice cream, pizzas, candies, etc. etc.
This is such an uneducated statement.
Very ironic that South Park did an episode about this lmao.
I love that he says these people are taking advantage of people. They definitely are but so are pharmaceutical companies. They sell the same stuff in other countries for much much less than over here
