    To become ortho-jew or other jewish sects, you must reject "That Man". Yeshua- Jesus. The bible clearly say; you reject me "Yeshua" Jesus, you also reject the Father who sent me.

    • @YonasonWeideman
      @YonasonWeideman 7 років тому

      Have you ever inquired about what accepting/ rejecting means to the Jewish mind?

    • @thelasthour9874
      @thelasthour9874 7 років тому +6

      Jonathan Weideman It doesn't matter about the Jewish mind or anybody else's mind. I lean on the word of God and I believe that's all we need. The Word interprets it self.

    • @YonasonWeideman
      @YonasonWeideman 7 років тому +1

      Does Jesus have a mind? Did his brothers? Did the apostles? Did Paul? They were all Jews, steeped in Judaism and 1st century Judean culture, and they taught, spoke, and wrote as Jewish men. Understanding how Jews understand something is necessary to understand how the Jewish writers of the NT thought. We can't solely depend on it, but we can't ignore it either. To say that it had no effect on them is to say that religion and culture couldn't affect them but things like like Roman politics and Greek linguistics could. That's just simply not possible.

    • @thelasthour9874
      @thelasthour9874 7 років тому +4

      Jonathan Weideman You are not making any sense. They all followed Yeshua. They all had the mind of Christ (Messhia). I'm very sure that Korah had a mind and he was a Spiritual leader among the Jews, but God didn't call him to lead his people. You know the story. Don't lean on your own understanding but lean on the word of God. The Rabbis are misleading the people believing that the Rabbinal writings are superior or equal to the Bible.

    • @YonasonWeideman
      @YonasonWeideman 7 років тому

      I apologize for any lack of clarity. I understand that they all followed Yeshua. What I'm referring to is that there was a Jewish culture in the 1st century CE. This culture was composed of religious, economic, political, social, dietary, etc. forces that all had an impact on people. For example, religious Jews would never in a million years wear a toga because the toga was pagan and were worn by the Hellenistic elites. So we know that Jesus didn't wear a toga, nor did his original followers. All of this is called anthropology and history. Anthropology is the study of human beings throughout history and looks at cultures and societies and studies them to gain greater insights about what life was like back then. Another example is that most Jews were vegetarians back then not because they didn't want to kill animals but because eating meat was very expensive and most Jews simply couldn't afford it. With Jesus being a poor Jew, he would not have been eating meat but for a few times a year, during the holidays. Does this make Jesus a vegetarian? In a sense, yes. Was Jesus in favor of philosophical vegetarianism? I so no evidence for that. I myself have meat in my freezer. My point, though, is that the Bible is not a history book in the sense that we understand history. It is a theology book. While the Bible does record hundreds of historical events, sometimes with a fair amount of specificity, the point of recording these events is to show God's greatness and to teach the Jewish people lessons about God. So for example, the Bible mentions that David had a palace and Solomon built the Temple. The Bible doesn't tell us exactly where the palace is relative to the Temple. Yet when we utilize archaeology and history, we find out where it was. When we learn this, we can gain greater insight to what the Bible does say. Is this making more sense? Sorry for the lengthy response here, just trying to be clearer.

    My question for this caller who converted to Judaism who keeps saying The Sanhedrin was righteous in The 1st Century because they used Oral Law and tradition, why then was Jerusalem and The Temple destroyed? Why were they disbursed and viciously killed and lost the land for almost 2000 years? If the Oral Law is the standard of righteousness why did God allow that to happen when written Torah clearly states ONLY Blessings for the Nation who Follow The Law and ONLY Cursings for the nation who Transgress the Law? Don't you think there is a problem then with The Sanhedrin and Oral Rabbinical changes to Written Torah?

      Yes my brother you are right i did not know him,but there should be passion in he's voice.
      When men falls in love with woman ,there is a passion when's his voice when he talks about her ,should he love God more then anybody?
      Many so many people just search for new religion and when they find or I should say "when they think they find it"
      My brother I was religious Christian for many years ,born I Catholic family and in age of 25 I left it because of its false teachings.
      In age of 28 I started to become just Christian but even though I was just into new religion until one day God give me "private session" by making me aware of my all sins to ten point it made my cry from shame and then Great God showed me His Grace and I can explain how come,but He cleanse me from all my sin.
      And from this day I don't have any more religion ,I have only Him ,Great Spirit of Great God in me , Spirit of God of Abraham ,Isaac and Jacob in me.
      I've seen and I've heard men changing from religion to religion but it's still just a religion . God is my Father even though I'm gentile ,He's my Father just by adoption then He's your Father because you are Jew and you don't need adoption like I do and I know you Jews call Him your Father and I know any father would not enjoy having religious relationship with he's kids but natural and loving .
      Do you think God The Father enjoys relationship with His kids through religion ?

    • @YonasonWeideman
      @YonasonWeideman 7 років тому

      I understand what you're saying, but some people are more emotional and some people are more intellectual. Neither one of them is the only way. God made all people and he made some some ways and other other ways. I am definitely more on the rational side and I don't easily display emotion (for beter or worse). My voice is admittedly kind of monotone. But that doesn't mean I don't love God or study His word or that I'm not passionate about Him. Some Christians are easily excited about Jesus, so their voices change when he comes up in a conversation. A Jewish rabbi is not that kind of person. To him, Jesus is a different religion. He's an historical figure like Muhammad or Abraham Lincoln. How many people's voices perk up when Honest Abe enters the conversation? Would a Christian's voice perk up and get excited about talking about a certain doctrine of Islam, for example, making Christians and Jews servants of Muslims? Of course not. They might even be mad or defensive if they feel the interviewer is hostile to them. Rabbi Asher, likewise, sees the NT as an ancient text like the Dead Sea Scrolls. It's not part of his religious experience, his connection with God. I don't think we should judge him based on his voice.

      Don't get me wrong, I'm not jumping when I talk about God ,more then anything I have tears in my eyes because of what God did to my life and my wife live , to add to my story ,Spirt of God changed me to the point that within one day He made me stop watching tv ,drinking alcohol ,long story short He removed from us worldly life style ,my wife since her "day" stopped also wearing pens ,shorts etc :)
      But we don't do all of this thing because someone told us we have to,but because God made us ,so haw can I be rational?
      You as Jews have all this rules that you learn from young and you trying to live by them physically ,in our case it wasn't from learning ,simply in one moment God made us this way , for instance I did love taste and aroma of European beer , and I was addicted to tv and movies and all of this plus many others was removed from my heart in one day and I didn't have to struggle with fighting it ,simply God hade change my heart :) in did Jesus and Mohamed are part of the history but followers of Mohamed have to made me and you one of them , then I as follower of Christ should have just love in my heart to everyone,love not created by religion and rules ,but by Spirit of God in us .by One and true God ,not by second or third person of Trinity because there is no such thing,
      Jesus is not 2nd God and Holly Spirit is Spirit of God not 3 person or God,
      I did asked one of Jewish Rabi if Name "Messiah" represents God in men? And he answered me "yes" .
      So if Jesus was not the One the one then the One that will come according to your beliefs will be God in men , because just a men will not be able to make all this things beating just a men.
      If Jesus wasn't the One then he was the biggest deceiver :) and the only one deceiver who's fruits we are together.
      Only in Jesus you can see Jews and Arabs and all others in one assembly in Israel rejoicing tougher,
      As I told you I was born in Catholic family Catholic religion not Catholic faith because there is no such thing as Catholic faith, most of Catholics until today think that Jews are responsible for his killing
      They don't know that He said that,he is giving his life on his own and God also give him to us,
      Most of people who call themselves Christians don't even know why Jesus give his life and what he was afraid night before he got killed .
      Did you ever asked yourself such a question?
      If Jesus was false and deceiver ,then he was from from Satan if he was from Satan then haw come all true Christ followers love nation of Israel?

      Yep, Judaism these days follows the oral traditions (Talmud consisting of Mishnah and Gemara) much more than Sacred Scripture. Orthodox Jews consider the Talmud to be divinely inspired just like the Tanakh (Old Testament). So since the Talmud basically states that sacrifices and priests are no longer necessary, they don't do them anymore.

    Wow!?!?! This man had to deny Yeshua as Mashiach in order to convert to Orthodox Judiasm. Even worse, he did this b/c the intellectualism of the Christian circle of influence around him was lacking. Then, he goes on to speak so highly of intellectualism! Where is the Holy Spirit in this man? We cannot judge whether or not he really received the Holy Spirit, whether or not he was truly born again in the Spirit - that is an issue between him and God but we must pray for him! He has denied Yeshua as Messiah! He has lost his Faith in the Son of God! He has been cut off from The Olive Tree! We are only grafted into The Olive Tree b/c of our Faith in Yeshua! This is so tragic!!!
    I light the candles on Shabbat w/out reciting rabbinic prayer. I only light the candles as a tangible expression of my Faith in The Light of the World, Yeshua! He is the light, He is the Menorah, He is the bread, the wine....which He will not drink again until He returns for His bride, as is Hebrew Israelite wedding custom. Shabbat is full of Yeshua and the future yet to come!
    Yeshua IS the Torah! He IS the Torah!!!
    I am floored at the arrogance of this man, I fear for him! He called The Son of God "middle man" as if Yeshua is simply just a distraction from intellectualism & Rabbinic dominance, o my God have mercy!

    I have listened to several Dr. Brown's debates with orthodox rabbis. From this limited sampling, I have noted several things:
    1) I have noted how rude and inconsiderate these so-called representatives of Orthodox Judaism are. They not only constantly interrupt Dr. Brown and refuse to hear the point he is trying to make but they also refuse to answer very simple and direct questions. This is clearly a disservice to the perspective they are trying to share and may in fact reflect an insecurity on their part regarding the strength of their own views as well as a fear of hearing a perspective other than their own be heard. It is more like fundamentalist brainwashing than legitimate conversation;
    2) although I am impressed with their mastery of Hebrew, throwing out Hebrew phrases, as if they are somehow definitive and authoritative to the subject at hand, does nothing to further their argument, especially with an audience that does not share their facility with Hebrew. The rabbi in this video/audio seems to be very impressed with himself - both his own pomposity and his ability to throw around in house jargon. I for one am no impressed or moved by what he says.
    I will pray that the Holy Spirit come upon him because, as is said in 1Cor. 12:3, "no one can say Jesus is LORD except by the Holy Spirit."

    Practicing religion might give you a moral framework within which to live your life, and practicing religious rituals might make you "feel" good at times, but religious ritual does not redeem you. In the tradition of Judeo/Christianity, there HAS TO BE a propitiation for sin. It's not enough to "convert". It's not enough to practice religious rituals. It's not enough to have an intellectual understanding. It's the heart that God is after. (Joel 2:12) The heart is the very essence of who you are as a created being - it is out of the heart that flows the issues of life. God is not concerned about your religious conversion. He wants your heart - all of you - your dependency and intimacy. Religious ritual does not matter to Him. Obedience is better than sacrifice.
    How is sin atoned for in modern Judaism?

    In Surah 9, verses 56-57 of the Quran, we read about people in the early Islamic community who were pretending to be Muslims because they were afraid of being killed by Muslims. But if Islam is a religion of peace, why would anyone need to pretend to be a Muslim out of a concern for personal safety? David Wood and Robert Spencer discuss the issue.

    In Romans Paul explains that when we are baptized (by immersion in water or the Spirit) we are buried with Jesus into His death and DIE to our selves and the world and become a new creation in Christ to be conformed to His image (Romans 6 and 7) in the image of God. And this death is what frees us from the law (as in marriage), which then allows us to be born again of the Holy Spirit to then receive a new heart and the power of the Spirit to keep the spirit of the law (not the letter of the law). This is by far a higher "ascension" to be godly and holy in our lives. So by faith "circumcised and uncircumcised" do not nullify the law but "on the contrary we establish the law"(Rom.3:30-31).
    The NT has plenty of instruction as to what it means to keep the spirit of the law. And so those who disregard righteousness, holiness, or godly conduct for some errant or mistaken ideas of what faith or grace mean are disregarding much of the NT, let alone the OT.

    yes, Jesus' life was by definition more "ethical" than just living by Torah. Also, his instructions were much more ethical in principle, such as when he says to list after a woman is to have already committed adultery in your heart. Throughout the gospel Jesus repeatedly lays down a more "moral" standard with which to evaluate our thoughts and behaviors.

Brown receive atonement for sins if Jesus transferred the old Jewish sacrifice for atonement to the Apostles in John20:21 Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” 22 When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” and only the Catholic Church claims to have Apostolic succession and can historicaly trace all our Majesterium to Peter and the Apostles?

    Dr. Brown I can tell your saved because of your fruits as the bible states, I dont think I have seen you get agitated in any of your debates other than when someone quotes Jesus falsely and you correct them, but you dont ever raise your voice and keep a cool head. But everyone you talk to get heated and agitated and you can tell they dont dwell with the spirit and they just want to be argumentative and steam roll the conversations and prick thier concious and you can see the power of the Gospel the pride and self rightousness show the fruits of evil within a person. I can almost feel your smile and joy of God and the patience the spirit gives you as I'm sure you feel the anger they are showing is pointless or a silly emotion.
    I dont understand if the Bible wether the Tanakh or the new testimate is considered words of God for the people then it should be as it says and should be final authority and any books outside it if it's not the Bible or goes against it then the bible determines its ligitimy or not. If a law is in some religious text but its not in the bible then it's not a command of God but a command of man.
    Catholics church cannot be even be considered Christian it's a Pagan institution to convert Christian's by saying hey were Christian when they arnt and was the institution that not only killed Jews and instigated the Holocaust with Hitler but also Killed true Chistrians like the Paulishins throughout history with the crusades and inquisitions causing the dark ages protestants left Europe because of the persecution of the Catholics.

    I agree with The Rabbi that Jesus exalted the Torah.
    Jesus did something greater however.
    He gave His disciples authority to forgive sin without having to go through the Jewish system.
    Why can't Christians just forgive Jews who are satisfied with Judaism.
    Stop trying to convert them.
    Treat them with respect.
    God will forgive them if Christians do.
    Jesus said so.

    Does the Torah saying if you lend money to a Jew don't put interest but to a gentile do charge interest, does that equate to this? Luke 6:31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.
    Deuteronomy 23:21 (20)-Unto a foreigner thou mayest lend upon interest; but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon interest; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all that thou puttest thy hand unto, in the land whither thou goest in to possess it.

    The messianic movement leads to denouncing Yahusha/Jesus as Messiah. The Law is to be kept, not worshipped. Ive watched so many ex-christians fall in love with Judaism to the point of losing Messiah and the point of the faith. Balance! Without it, its easy to get lured into a replacement religion. There in one way to the beloved Father! Dont get lost in the desert. That desert was not the destination. Danger on all sides. We must be in the Word and study for ourselves.

I have no compelling reasons to reject Yeshua as the Messiah because He fulfilled what the Torah said He would fulfill. I may not be the most intellectual person on the planet, but I don’t need anyone to teach me, I KNOW Yeshua saved my soul, and whoever has the Son, has the Father and vice versa. This man will be in my prayers that the Lord might pursue him if He wills it, and that this man will be brought to the forgiveness found in our Lord Yeshua.

    Dr Brown with all due respect I can’t wrap my mind around the fact that you think the NT says that non Jewish believers in Yeshua are not instructed to pursue the blessings of following instructions of the Torah. I am however pretty sure there’s no changing your mind on this. I’m not going to list all the places found in the apostolic scriptures where I see it opposite from you. I’m sure you know them better than I do. Okay Acts 15;21. It was assumed by The Apostles that the Gentile converts were going to gather each Shabbat at assemblies in each city to hear the Torah. What are they going to do with instructions that they would have been told “You can hear but don’t do.”
    “You can rap in to the blessings the new way, but we can’t.” Not for salvation but to be pleasing to Abba. Why shouldn’t non Jewish believers desire to not live a life of sin? Which would be a life embracing/pursuing Torah?
