      @desnock 2 роки тому +5

@@crisjunfan2139 That argument fails to be valid.
The historical facts about Jesus was that he was crucified and died. That magical claims were the result of the cult that sprang up, and was influenced by other mythologies of the day (Greek, Roman, Zoroaster, Jewish mysticism, etc). Resurrections and apocalypses were par for the course for a mostly illiterate cohort. This goes for healing, resurrection, and divinity.
So it is indeed remarkable to conflate historical fact with magical belief. That would be simply called historical fiction.
It doesn't "add toxicity" to challenge spurious assertions. Why wouldn't you ask the OP to provide examples/evidence? Because it aligns with your confirmation bias and cognitive dissonance. That you're so fragile to call that "toxicity" is the answer from someone who has zero ideas of the argument. Indeed, why not provide an example that we could discuss that supports your magical thinking? My degree is in divinity, I promise I'll be able to speak to your perspective.

If you emulate Jesus, you would not believe Jesus did or said these things.
Jesus never killed a tree because it didn't produce fruit out of season.
Jesus never called all Pharisees "vipers." That would have been judgment and he taught us to not judge.
Jesus never said, " Don't be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell."
That would have been promoting fear instead of love. "There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love."

I was a hardcore Atheist my entire young life, I'm 37 now and after thinking about all sorts of philosophy and moral issues for many years, going to university for it as well, I came to the same conclusion. Both sides are "crazy" but its actually Atheist concepts or lack of God that, philosophically, are MORE outlandish the more deep I got into it. Now I'm certain that God exists and that Jesus was the son of God and our salvation. I now pray every day and I can report that it makes my days better when I do.

Why do you suppose that the way of jesus-whatever it was has anything to do with that mumbic hum that me(humanbeings/dresming machines call "morals"?
Is it not more practical say that at this remove,*absolutely nothing can be known(directly imediatelypersonally experienced) of the way of jesus and that it can only have had some impact on men(human/beings dreaming machines) at a time when there was a living tradition of christianity which can only have continued until the death of the lt link in the chain, which almost certainly must have occurred within a century of the death of christ, with which the religion of christianity insofar at this remove anything at all can be discovered about it. Praying in aid what is called " the gospels will not help since they are little more than a series of banal anecdotes about the man without any detail of what his way or method or specific teaching consisted. I doubt a man of the stature and being of christ a insofar as anything at all can be discovered about it would have concerned him self with that subjective and relative nonsense that men call morals or ethics which are no more than subjective relative and temporary likes and dislikes(or automatic-mechanical reactions of the emotional(like/dislike function/ processor/mechanism, or what have been called psychological policemen glued to which are meaningless words know a right and wrong with are no more than cognates or synonyms of likes and dislikes which are simply reactions of the emotional function to which men attach a significance which they really do not merit.
Surely it must be *can_only* be that any ideas or conceptions about man or his teaching can only be approximations, or customs or habits or fashions or suppositions behind hich there *simly_cannot* be anything of substance or better or worse more or less curate approximations there being no-one with any substantive or substantial grounds for saying that and such a conception or approximations as there are , are better or worse conceived. there being no well of knowledge/understanding of chrisyianity- which could only be a living oral tradition, from which to drink, and if there be any such well its whereabouts are a very well and closely guarded secret..
It was rumoured that at one time there were schools of christianity where the tradition in oral form was preserved, but true or not at this remove they simply cannot exist anymore unless they also have some knowledge of how in practice to be immune to time -not something on which the prudent would be inclined to wager, thus the idea that such schools could possibly extant must be dismissed.
Anyone arrogating to himself the supposition that he is any position to say whether or not any conceptions of christ are better or worse as is said " conceived" can only be bullshitting or trying to inflate what at best can only be subjective opinions into something other than mere subjective opinions - or in short be some swaggering pipsqueak suggesting that his /her opinion is some how referable to others, there being little or no material from which anything can be said about a man that has been dead for centuries, and about whom any amount of nonsense has been prosed based on what can only be fragments the provenance of which are completely obscure for xample the obvious fiction that the man magically came back to life which can_only* be fabrication or fiction used as a gloss to add to what needed no such gloss- the resurrection fiction be clearly irrelevant and biliously a fiction because it could not possible as a matter of reason or common sens be relevant a gloss put upon what they could not understand by men that did not understand, because they lacked the wits. If you are going to lie do a least try to make your lie pass certain tests and those that fabricated the resurrection fiction clearly lacked the wits to ensure their lie could pass those tests and it simply cannot, or in simple terms they were stupid or having been stupefied and supposed others to be as stupid as they were. It is not unknown for those aware of the vice of mendacity to seek to justify their vice by supping it to be virtue, or a supposing your vice to be justifiable because you suppose it to be as-is said in.... a...... good- why not perjure yourself it you suppose your perjury to be virtuous or as Uncle Joe would say you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs; that...... old..... lie.
In sum, all an *Any* ideas of christ or his teaching must necessarily be fanciful and without foundation cause it..... simply..... cannot...... be ..... otherwise*Can_Only be fancy *Built_On* fancy and or that well known source of lies and misinformation the old lie of *Believing...... what....... you *want* ...... to believe. on which sand any mount of fancies built on fancies have been constructed.

At minute 34 up to 34 and a quarter, there is a key summary which I think gets brushed over too quickly. It's not just that we can't pick and choose; it's that even the moral teachings of Jesus that we like are wrapped up in who He is. We can't obey the teachings unless we align with him as the king of the world, receive His Spirit, turn from trusting in idols to trusting in God, etc. It is all a package deal, the crux of which is who Jesus is. I don't know how to explain this in a few words. Rebecca says it in those fifteen seconds in a few words, but reading the Bible to unpack those words and really explain them and begin to understand them is a whole other story. It takes a lifetime of Bible-reading, perhaps. Perhaps a glimpse can be found in two Scriptures that are easy to miss: John 8.31-32 ... where accepting Jesus' teaching - much of which was about himself and who he is, such as his being the bread that came down from heaven - accepting the teaching leads to three things: being disciples, knowing the truth, and being set free. Moralists often try to apply it as an if-then statement "If you know the truth, then you will be set free." It is actually: If you abide in my words, THEN you will be disciples AND you will know the truth AND that truth will set you free." (see also John 14:23-24, 6.63, 7:37-39). Another is John 7:16-17 ... person who has chosen to align with God to do His will, will find out that Jesus' teaching comes from God. We often tell it as though one had to first believe that Jesus' teaching comes from God in order to start doing God's will, but this verse has it work the other way around. The obedient heart comes first, and then the faith in Christ flows from that. One can't say they have an obedient heart towards God and then reject Jesus' claims about his origin. See also 6:28-29, then 6.38, 41-46, 51, 60-62. When they grumble in 41-42 and in verse 60, it seems to be about Jesus saying he came down from heaven, because in 60-61 Jesus then asks what they will think when they see him go up to heaven. Catholics focus on the complaint of verse 52, and say that v. 66 refers to the eating part, but it is much more likely that the rejection refers to who Jesus says he is, that he has come down from heaven and from the Father.

Love your neighbour as yourself and treat others how you want to be treated is a very deep teaching. I have heard that all my life but have been seeing lately just how deep that is.
Jesus also taught that if someone strikes you on the cheek turn to them the other also. If we go back to loving our neighbour as yourself we get a deeper understanding and appreciation of turning the other cheek.
If you don't want to be hit then don't hit back. We are told to treat others how we want to be treated. Not to treat them how they treat us.

I found recently, despite being brought up in a Christian home and being a believer most of my life, the Bible still feels mythological and separate from what we commonly referred to as “history “. That is until you lineup the time frames with biblical history, and secular history. you hear about the Romans in the Bible and there’s almost a disconnect, at least, in my mind, between them, and the Romans I’ve learned about in the secular history books. Reading through Daniel, and understanding that his prophecies were about Alexander the great, and the Roman empire brought things into a reality that I hadn’t had before.

With your earliest source (Paul) seeing no physical Jesus, nor did the men with him. Acts is not even written by Paul so it isn't actually him even reporting the experience he supposedly had. Paul doesn't even quote Jesus, so we know the gospels didn't even exist before Paul. Mark is your next source, which of course the ending was added to (Mark 16:9-20) it ends with the women being afraid and tell no one what the man within the tomb had said to them.
