Lifesaver man or ticket saver thought my speedometer was off remember seeing this video a while back pulled it back up enabled digital speedometer close to 10 miles an hour difference thanks for uploading

On the lower trim, level F150, you just have to hold down reset and setup and it can do the same thing. I did it on my 2012 STX F150.
Really disappointed that the truck doesn't automatically show the digital speedometer on the main screen. This should be one of the major features, not a hidden one!
Especially since it has all the information and shows it in "hidden mode"
@@gdub14 Mine also has only ONE digital readout, transmission temp :lol:. I expect a bunch more. Why not at least coolant Temp?
There is a second screen too, it is blank. It reminds me of some lazy kid who didn't finish his homework :lol:

My 2003 Ford Focus SE does this when you hold down the trip reset button when starting the car. Granted it does not have as many options as my 14 F150, but it does work. Ford seems to have introduced it around 2000 in their vehicles. Good features if you know what you are looking for.
I don't have any use for the digital speedometer yet still stock but i definitely like knowing my voltage level and coolant temp 👍🏽

I went through this earlier to find the voltage readout...which I can't believe it doesn't have a standalone volt gauge
Learned tonight it doesnt work if theres a tire sensor fault message because you have to click okay to get rid of that screen

I have a 2013 Ecoboost, do you know if there is a boost gauge? I'm shocked they didn't install one from factory like the diesels have. Always wondered if there was one hidden in the menu.
I don't think there is. I know the 15+ f150 has a boost gauge
Yes is not included on the cluster meter . However, you can install an external one. The harness is there under the dash.

Mine will do it with the key on engine off, but will not come up when I start the engine..

My 2015 truck has digital speed and transmission temp and engine temp and other info digitally displayed Just in ur regular display option with ur gas to empty... This is more for calibration when ur gauges get stocks.. my speed got stock at 80 ones and i just reset it like this..

I have an aftermarket remote start that shows low battery in accessory mode. It appears you START your truck and it will also go into engineering mode. Is this what you did in this video? I see the RPM are hovering around 6-7 in the video...
Yes you can start the truck and still get into engineering mode.
how do you select when on the digital speedometer?
Jessie Nalls just hit the ok button to cycle through and find what you want. Then whatever find and that's what you want just leave it and don't hit ok again and it will stay

My 2011 Ecoboost is chipped with other parts as well and I removed the speedlimiter and now I top out at 130mph

I'm trying to find the default code for the keypad on my door. I bought my 2013 used and they didn't have it. Did that code show up when you cycled thru?
No. But I know where to find it. Look at the sticker on your fuse box in the passenger kick panel area. There is a sticker on it and that is actually your door code

If the sticker isn't there, you can get the dash to display it. You'll need 2 keys though. Insert the first and turn to run (don't start), after 4 seconds remove the key, insert the other and turn it to run (again, don't start). Once it does it's "welcome" screen, it'll give you the 5-digit code.
Would this work for a 2010 F150? My father has the smaller screen.

Yes it works ..it just has limited features . ..it works all the way to 2000 Ford F-150 and expeditions . Depending on how big the digital screen is will limit on what shows .
my fuel meter is stuck on empty, will it still go into test mode when truck comes on it reads empty tank
I did this and a day later the whole instrument cluster had to be replaced. $785. It was telling me I was going 10 mph sitting still with the analog speedometer. Might have been a fluke, but be advised. Warranty covered it though.
Did you go back and redo the gauge test?

Sucks you can’t have it on permanently. My speedometer stoped working and it looks like I will hafta replace the instrument cluster.

Please help to disable the engineering mode!!!!!!! It has completely locked up my 2011 f150 Harley Davidson edition!!!!!! It will not get out of engineering mode, it will not start and digital speedometer DOES NOT APPEAR.
My "A" trip display started showing an amber rectangle over the information. How do I clear this? I have tried the OK reset, and that doesn't work.

Why are you not able to get a digital gauge for everything under normal circumstances that does not make any sense
So there’s no way to make this stay every time without doing this every time right? My first gauge screen is empty. Is there anyway to set those?

@@itsoundzgood ok I was just looking at your mpg average gauge. For some reason mine use to look like yours. But for some reason after I held ok to reset the mpg went up for 99 and the green is now up at 40 and the mpg line slowly starts climbing. This is while I'm sitting in park. I can't seem to find any info as to why this jas changed.

How did you get yours up to 120mph? I think there's a limiter at 107mph

My F150 2112 used to tell me what gear I was in when I drove. Now it doesn’t. Any idea how to fix that?
Try pushing the + or - on the shifting lever while it's on D

Yep, there is a dummy plug for the trailer lighting. You plug that in, and it disables the auto stop feature.
I'm glad my 2015 platinum doesn't have that feature..

Mostly highway driving. If I only do highway with no stops its closer to 20mpg
I’ve averaged 19.4 for 5 years now and reset it every time I fill up. 5.0. 40 PSI in tires. And that’s with 500 lbs worth of tools in the bed all the time also lol
I get 20 on my f-150 ecoboost. Best way to safe gas is to slow down. Dont romp on it after every light.
Look up Engineering Explained‘s video on fuel efficient driving. Beyond technique, A/T tires will perform worse than highway tread. Also don’t speed. Aerodynamic drag is exponential function of velocity.

Please don't put your truck in dealer / diagnostic mode. It is there for a specific reason. It is not designed to be driven daily this way. This mode is by-passing some features and functions that Ford designed for the convenience of the consumer.
