    That video is incredibly cool, and the techniques used are very practical.😁

    What an amazing idea. I would never have thought to use the helmet attachment like that. So smart. Thank you so much for showing this to all of us.

    I am going to try this with a cheaper underwater camera kinda like the GoPro rip-offs just because I only want to do this one thing mainly as an experiment, I will be casting on a beach so I will let people know how that works! thank you for the vid

    Thank you so much on making this video, I have just become one of your supporters from now on. May I ask have you ever dropped your gopro beyond 60m deep (as the menu claimed the deepest depth of the casing would hold up)? Cos i intend to throw it down to 100m but not sure if that will cause any permanent damage to the device.

      I haven't dropped it deeper and I'd be a little worried to try. I'm not sure how the seals and clasp would hold up under more pressure at greater depths, and also the availability of light that deep may be an issue, but maybe not where you're at. Let me know if it works for you :)

    Hi, I created this rig and took it cod jigging (100ft) depth. Got some great footage! One question: were you able to come up with a way to stop the gopro from spinning with you jig or reel upward? I'm trying to come up with some solutions to try.

      I have the same question. Any ideas or suggestion? I'm thinking of using your rig when I use my Gopro for 100' of saltwater fishing.

    Thanks for the video. Great ideas. I want to make a rig that I can cast out off the pier. I have some dreams of being able to also control the depth.

    I think this rig has great potential for a low cost line attached camera. How do you think it would react to low speed trolling? I'm thinking of using it with Stripers hear on the mid atlantic east coast in the rivers feeding the Chesapeake.

      Good question! The GoPro isn't super smooth running through the water but it handles jigging fine and I've dragged it behind my kayak at super low speeds...probably like 0.5 mph though, which is pretty low for trolling even...so I guess I'm not sure if the force on the camera would cause it to shake too much. I'll have to experiment some with faster speeds.

    Monterey Bay Aquarium has a squid cam broadcast that I love to watch. So tranquil.. but those squid are fun to catch and great to eat. Thanks for the tutorial! Now I'll have to purchase a GoPro to see what I'm catching!
    On the museum/aquarium topic, what do you think of the Science Museum of Minnesota? (assuming from your sweatshirt that you've visited) I'm from that part of the world, have family in the Twin Cities area, and we are planning to take kids to that museum see dinosaurs. Have you been to Museum of the Rockies in Montana and if so, how do they compare?

    • @SeaWolfFishing
      @SeaWolfFishing  3 роки тому

      I've watched their squid cam!!!! Love it! The triceratops at the SMM is pretty spectacular. There aren't many real, complete skeletons out there and so it's pretty unique in that regard. It's not the largest collection out there but I enjoyed it. If your kids are dinosaur nerds like me they'll think it's pretty cool. There were lots of kid oriented exhibits as well. I haven't been to the Museum of the Rockies so I can't offer an opinion there. Another museum I did love though was the Field Museum in Chicago with Sue the T-rex. Let me know how it goes when you make it to the museum!

    Have you ever found a way to keep the Gopro from spinning when reeling it down and retrieving the line as posted by John Doucette a month ago?
