Had read this book early last year.. it was an eye opener as I was overhauling the onboarding exp for a new joiner in my last org. This help me in getting the define and measure the success for a new joiner. Loved this book.
Long-lasting change occurs through small steps, repeated regularly, over time. Look no further than your next habit and remember to congratulate yourself every time. You are unique in all the world. Never forget that.
Only one company I've worked at new how to train employees well. They were from all walks of life and every age group. I mean Every age group. It's a secret I'm not sharing either bc no one believes me when I tell them, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.. pphhffttt! Lol. What you said is one of the main and biggest parts of it. At least you would probably understand. 🤍☺️

This is excellent. Usually books only talk to the leaders or trainers of the company (and not very well). This one actually talks to the employee so they can feel like they have some control in the situation. I'm hoping he has a book similar to this for the leaders and trainers that is like THIS bc the world is lacking those kinds of books (with actionable and straightforward processes).
This is really great stuff, Jeff! I'm glad you're covering this topic :) One of my struggles when I first joined was feeling the urge to be productive as soon as possible. One thing I've come to accept is that sometimes being productive doesn't necessarily mean you have to produce something tangible. I guess this is where negotiating your success with your manager comes into play! :p
I'm in the banking industry! I do fraud prevention and a little bit of cybersecurity :> wasn't the career I originally envisioned for myself tbh but so far I'm finding it really interesting 😆

Excellent video! I use these tips in Amplenote. I'm actually going through a career transition, from the music field to technology. In Amplenote, I can easily capture ideas, tips, thoughts, suggestions, things to read or do in the Jots session. As for the idea of ranking things to be resolved, I define it in the notes session, when an idea or thing to be resolved takes shape. I better refine my thoughts and actions, with the third session, the tasks. We can even connect tasks with note links. All action reviews are carried out in the calendar session, where I can configure them in different ways. This 90-day action plan will be much easier with Amplenote.

However, would also be interested in the "Jeff Su" take on how to successfully handover my part of the project that is continuing on, but particularly when there is no direct replacement (in short: big project team reducing to a core group that I will no longer be part of) Have applied your other trips (eg email etiquette and sheet labelling) when i started this role, so definitely valuing your input on going out with a bang.

Good video. I'd improve it by seeing if you can get the professor on, or at the very least a text, video, or audio recording response. Beyond that, just slow down. Great energy and involvement, but I think a little slower is better for consumption and comprehension.
Also, I've shared several of his videos with my colleagues and they say they really like him (charming, funny and smart tips!) however it'd be nice if he slowed down a little and that he always seems rushed. Maybe he really is, he has a full time job and other things going on. 🤍

I wish these videos would be less energetic and slower so that we have better chance at processing and absorbing the information. I kept having to pause to take notes.
As cheesy as this sounds... this video changed my life. Ran out (yes, ran) and bought the book (how has this not been in my life sooner?). Using these concepts everywhere now.
Too much work! If you put the time to fill all of these sheets in your actual job, you will be promoted before you know it. New job is easy guys, be yourself, have common sense, respect others, be humble to learn. That’s all.

The tools matter less than the system you create. I use checklists and databases in Notion 😁
