A note of personal experience about Jake @ HoneySeal. I was up at the SpeedAcademy track day and had a pretty major suspension issue with my FRS. I lost a rear ball joint on track. I had a 7+ hour drive home the next day. Jake grabbed his personal vehicle and ran me around to locate parts for the repair. He also helped me hold wrenches and crawled under the car IN THE RAIN without hesitation. He's a really solid person and I hope some day to be able to bring my EVO up to their shop to get the dry ice + seal treatment. Thanks Jake! Hope you see this!
this quick build series is so good! I remember when you guys are so worried when views went down due to long and too many videos on just 1 car. this mini build series is perfect! Im happy for you guys and kept this channel alive.
I agree, these shorter video series are a little more satisfying from a viewing persepctive. Don't get me wrong I like a complete ground up/top to bottom build, but for it to be entertaining viewing it requires a lot of planning and editing which is challenging if you're a 2-man crew.
The transformation is absolutely amazing, the new look is awesome. I cant believe the rust removal honey seal was able to do, I'm legit in shock over it!
28:08 The results of the Honey Seal undercarriage restoration are amazing 🤯 I am completely mind-blown that an old rusty truck frame can be made brand new again. I live in Toronto and will check these guys out for my car.
4:03 those butt connectors have solder in them so you will need to apply heat to secure the connection and seal them. Just crimping them is not enough.
Can’t believe it’s already been 8 years with this truck! Really inspiring to see these upgrades and a great way to keep the truck looking fresh! Love the serie keep it up
This was such a satisfying build series on a vehicle we can all relate to. I love that you guys not only updated the looks, but also the function and safety to a degree. I was amazed by the updated OEM Sequoia headlights. Props for keeping the truck and putting in the work to keep it going despite your climate fighting you every year. Thank you for showing the struggles with rust, some don't know how easy they have it in that regard. Cheers and happy new year!
That guy did amazing work on the undercarriage. I have seen people just spray on top of the rust in other videos. He actually cleaned the surfaces of the rust before treatment.
I drive a 13' Rock Warrior, same color. That grille would look killer on mine. Happy you went with the OEM Sequoia lights. I'm running the Alpharex lights and they are a massive piece of shit.
The truck looks amazing and knowing it's all sealed and protected must be a great feeling. I'm blown away by the Honey Seal treatment. Definitely keeping them in mind for when I get a vehicle worthy of it.
Cool lights! I'm so glad that you didn't do "Blackout" style. Looks great! Seeing the rust cleanup makes me proud to live in the southern United States. Dry ice blasting is for sure a great process. I am a bit "old fashioned" and prefer white letter tires, but that's just me. Sweet truck!
I don't know if you guys ever plan on doing any crazy mods to the tundra but I would definitely recommend looking into the same generation sequoia transfer case. It allows you to drive the truck in fulltime 4wd with a locking center differential and that has huge improvements in the wet, slush, snow and ice compared to your traditional 4x4. It still has the locking center though for a true 4wd 50/50 split and low range for more torque depending on your application but it is a very neat modification (although expensive) for this generation and this generation alone of Toyota Tundras. I would love to see a rather popular channel such as you guys tackle a project like that because of it's uniqueness and also the area where you live is the most effective for a driveline modification such as the sequoia transfer case swap. Keep up the good work though your guys' content always brings a smile because of the consideration you guys put into each mod or maintenance item.
As the great Palpatine once said, "Let the hate flow through you...". I feel Pete's pain and frustration dealing with all that rust. Glad to see you guys pushed through it! Keep up the awesome work!
Living in Calgary I’m super happy to see there is a Honeyseal location in Edmonton. Ill definitely be giving them a call for my 2017 Tundra.. Your tundra looks awesome 👏
This is so nice to see pros encountering the same problems I do. Every single project I have is like this one and not the 20 mins in and out most videos show. Thanks for making me feel normal and showing your trouble shooting processes!
Almost annoys me that you are not getting 2-3 million subs by now. Your content is great, I love that you are transparent with each decision you make along the way on your bigger builds and explaining why you go certain routes, e.g. which engine and trans combos you go for as well as showcasing all the fabrication work required and taking us along the thought process behind each important decision on that front too. Please keep up the good work
Nice, love the rig. I also have a 2012 Tundra, and did the '18 Sequoia swap a few years ago as well. Just a heads up to anyone else reading, you can also use the 20+ OEM Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro Grille, it bolts right in like normal. No adapting needed, and its an OEM quality piece.
WOW, the underbody clean up was amazing! I would totally hire this company if I had a truck that was worth saving. Looks almost new! I live in Michigan, and it would be worth the drive to have this done.
WOW what a transformation I do have to say Now you look like you take care and Love your Truck because from previous videos the Tundra didn't really looked like you cared for it too much, anyway keep up the good work always a pleasure to watch you too guys and the knowledge you bring on things is very welcoming Cheers.
At intat precision in Rushville Indiana we make brake calipers for most Toyota's and i work there so i am so happy to see this old girl get the love she needed
Of all the badass builds you guys do, the 'ol Tundra is still a winner 🏆 The best generation of Tundra IMHO. Slap on the TRD supercharger in the future? 😆
I'm actually amazed by the result underneath the truck. I didn't think dry ice could remove rust, especially thick rust. How'd that work out, do you have a higher velocity sprayer or did you have to manually take care of some of the problem areas. Anyways great job on the whole build but especially the underside. Now it needs a super charger like the 4runner 😎
I have a '92 with FACTORY projectors that I installed LEDs into. As well as a '96 that I retrofitted with projectors. Upgrading the lighting is a no-brainer.
Maybe someone has already pointed this out, but just in case... Next time you should use a piece of fishing line after heating up the badge, it's much safer for the paint as you avoid the risk of scrach/dent the paint with one side of the badge itself when you pull on the other side of it, especially if the badge is metallic (don't know if this was actually metal or not, but anyway), Just something to consider. Nice job as always!
Prolightz also has a really good headlight package with all the bits included. Very OEM looking and quality without the prices. Just in case anyone is looking like me. Love the refresh.
It's lovely not having winter here in Arizona... I've never even had to buy all-season tires, just summer tires all year round. Heck, for a while I was daily driving 200tw Yokohama A052's, because why not? So much grip.
What a transformation! Truck looks fantastic! Well done. And for everyone else... get the Honey Seal done when the car is brand new! It will be a LOT cheaper than having to blast the car.
Oh wow. Not the same truck AT ALL. So so so very nice. Great job! I love this kind of content. I love that you guys did stuff that made sense! It’s a brand new truck! Happy New Year!
Now you just need to update the seats and new leather steering wheel, and what’s up with the black inserts where fog lights are supposed to go, if you want more light the fog lights would help
Looks great! Thank you for taking care of that rust!!! Also, if you have a drop in bedliner in that thing, pull it out and check the bed for rust…. Ask me how I know about this…
Great series, love this channel. Currently undersealing my truck and it is one heck of a dirty job but the finish when done and preservation to the steel is totally worth it.
Man, awesome mini series guys. Super relatable. If that front bumper ever needed touching up, how about having the insert section behind the front plate in matte black - TRD trim style? Either way, awesome refresh / upgrades series guys. On that note, one of my personal favorites is the XS Power AGM battery. Cold slow starts are a thing of the past now. Talk about a huge upgrade in cold cranking power. Definitely a big recommendation for anyone else looking for a new battery.!
I enjoy these videos more where its mostly cosmetic and a long term use vehicle. I understand the weather situation, but I get "blueballs" when I spend weeks following a build and there is little or no racing/testing. The series that I loved was the ass2000. Just a little constructive criticism. Happy new year guys!
@Sublime Surfacing I will keep checking your web site. I just bought a new WRX and going to raw dog it this winter, but would like to protect it for next year.
Wanted to thank you guys for not putting the dumbass 24" wheels that stick 3 feet out the sides. Like 99% of every other channel on youtube! I will definitely be watching more of your content! Keep up the great work..

By the way the best bolt buster on the planet in my experience is profanity and lots of it
This is 100% f*”king right
Fuckin’ a man
In the words of Heisenberg..."you're GODDAMN right"
I'm used to rust free southern vehicles, a northern vehicle can have me using profanity in six different languages.
Lmfao, yes! Works everytime

You guys did amazing but that last guy truly saved the truck
The transformation is absolutely amazing, the new look is awesome. I cant believe the rust removal honey seal was able to do, I'm legit in shock over it!
Just popped in to say Pete cursing his little heart out at the rust has been my highlight of the build. 🤣
😂
That Honeyseal portion was incredible. Looks like new!
@@sublimesurfacing2556how much would a job like this cost?
28:08 The results of the Honey Seal undercarriage restoration are amazing 🤯 I am completely mind-blown that an old rusty truck frame can be made brand new again. I live in Toronto and will check these guys out for my car.
Honey seal is also a newer business. Incredible work for what they do
The truck looks great especially the underbody…gonna miss this series
4:03 those butt connectors have solder in them so you will need to apply heat to secure the connection and seal them. Just crimping them is not enough.
😂yeah I was like umm 🤔 that’s not a crimp connector that’s a low heat solder heat shrink connector 😅
This tundra is by far my favorite car you guys have ever built
I just did the Rock Warrior Grille Upgrade. I definitely want the TOYOTA Grille now!
Holy smokes. I'm sure that honey seal treatment was expensive but WOW that was some incredibly professional work.
Good video guys. I really liked the cut of Pete swearing at the grill to him “having some time to cool down”. We’ve all been there
Can’t believe it’s already been 8 years with this truck! Really inspiring to see these upgrades and a great way to keep the truck looking fresh! Love the serie keep it up

Those lights made insane transformation. Looks insane. Well done on this build.

Awesome series! You know your third brake light on your ARE Cab is out? Never ends!
The winter wheels look MUCH better than the summer set. Great work guys and nice to see a couple of local guys doing good work. Cheers
As a fellow salt road driver, this is inspiring. Truck looks incredible!
Im absolutely stunned at the underside work Honey seal did!! My OCD is very happy

A) new front end looks awesome B) the underside looks minty fresh great work by honey seal

The fight against rust is why I subbed to this channel. 💀
Almost annoys me that you are not getting 2-3 million subs by now.

Yes! Was wondering if you guys were going to do a coating underneath. I bet that was worth as much as the truck.
Every car these guys mod/customize is done with impeccable taste. Well done!
The swearing bit with the grill bolts was both hilarious and too relatable lol. Love the updates, especially with the headlights!
The truck looks so fresh now. What a great series!
WOW, the underbody clean up was amazing! I would totally hire this company if I had a truck that was worth saving. Looks almost new! I live in Michigan, and it would be worth the drive to have this done.
That HoneySeal dude rocked it out! looks fresh under there!
WOW what a transformation I do have to say Now you look like you take care and Love your Truck because from previous videos the Tundra didn't really looked like you cared for it too much, anyway keep up the good work always a pleasure to watch you too guys and the knowledge you bring on things is very welcoming Cheers.
2 hour drive from where I live in NY! This is great!!!
Perfect timing, I’m sitting on the crapper as I got the notification
At intat precision in Rushville Indiana we make brake calipers for most Toyota's and i work there so i am so happy to see this old girl get the love she needed

The best generation of Tundra IMHO. Slap on the TRD supercharger in the future? 😆
Wow....just wow. Great work ensuring this beast will be looking good for the long haul! That undercarriage transformation and front end is amazing 👏
That undercarriage overhaul is just amazing.
just went to take 2018 tundra for my honey seal absolutely unbelievable work by jake
They did such a great job on the underside of the truck!
Those lights front+back, front grill and back bumper... Makes that Tundra like 10 years "new'r"... I like it A LOT!
I'm actually amazed by the result underneath the truck. I didn't think dry ice could remove rust, especially thick rust. Love the truck series guys, would really like to see a full series on a tacoma for like a baja build or something
Love the matte winter wheel setup! Amazing job with the under blasting cleanup!💯
I'm not a truck guy but I loved this build!
Profanity was most welcome and what a transformation! Looked hella good on those glory rolling shots
I have a '92 with FACTORY projectors that I installed LEDs into. As well as a '96 that I retrofitted with projectors. Upgrading the lighting is a no-brainer.

Very nice build boys, modernized a true work horse of a truck! Nice work🎉
One easy way to remove the emblems after the initial heating is seesawing a fishing line behind it. Thanks for another nice video.
Really excited you guys mention "Costa Rica" !!!!! Greetings form a fan down here
Amazing job guys, the front end refresh and winter wheel set looks great!
That chassis treatment is very impressive 👏 hope you guys didn't suffer too much with the winter storm
Wow what a transformation. Can’t believe how well the underside cleaned up!!
The tundra looks amazing!! Only suggestion would be to stealth the exhaust tips to complete the look
What just happened at 4.09? Did they use a solder tube as a butt connector? Or are these supposed to be crimped before they are heated?
Prolightz also has a really good headlight package with all the bits included. Very OEM looking and quality without the prices. Just in case anyone is looking like me. Love the refresh.
Love this Tundra!! This series was fun and rewarding!!!
Those mamba wheels are freakin sickkkk!!!! The lights alone makes it 10+ years newer
That was quite a transformation through this series. It was entertaining to watch.
It's lovely not having winter here in Arizona... I've never even had to buy all-season tires, just summer tires all year round. Heck, for a while I was daily driving 200tw Yokohama A052's, because why not? So much grip.
Guys, you rock! All the best for this new year! Thanks for the countless hours of entertainment, love this type of people's car build!
Great series! Though I did chuckle at the fact that you went to so much effort to de-chromed the entire truck and left the chrome exhaust tips.
The tundra is my favorite car in your shop even over the gtr!! Love tundys
The gun metal powder coated wheels look great... 👌 you are correct on the choice of winter wheels. Looks great
What a transformation! Truck looks fantastic! Well done. And for everyone else... get the Honey Seal done when the car is brand new! It will be a LOT cheaper than having to blast the car.
This series is making me happy I live in the south where we dont get snow and road salt
Oh wow. Not the same truck AT ALL. So so so very nice. Great job! I love this kind of content. I love that you guys did stuff that made sense! It’s a brand new truck! Happy New Year!
Night and day difference exterior wise and that dry ice bath underneath 👌
Wow! Underneath looks like a completely different truck! Such subtle touches make all the difference! Wow!
Now you just need to update the seats and new leather steering wheel, and what’s up with the black inserts where fog lights are supposed to go, if you want more light the fog lights would help
Yeah some led fogs would be nice
That is a huge difference! Well done. Looks amazing and those TEs on there look great with the body color!
Wow, the Honey Seal transformation is amazing.
Superb episode of the Tundra!
Truck looks real good now! That frontend is much better
Looks great! Thank you for taking care of that rust!!! Also, if you have a drop in bedliner in that thing, pull it out and check the bed for rust…. Ask me how I know about this…
It has a sprayed in bedliner, but I've seen under the drop-in ones and ya they trap moisture like crazy.
Great series, love this channel. Currently undersealing my truck and it is one heck of a dirty job but the finish when done and preservation to the steel is totally worth it.
you guys are my favorite automotive UA-camrs, keep up the great work! Would love to see you do a Z32 one day!
I hope you guys tackle that rust underneath the truck don’t let it rest the way
Wow! Everything you guys did on this video is amazing. Really good job! 👏🏼
Wow. I’m sold
Time to send mine to honey seal too
What an awesome upgrade on a nice Tundra turned handsome head turning Tundra!
Great job on the tundra, the truck looks great and more modern now. I might look into the honey seal for my family's tundra. Really enjoy your videos.
Best vids on your channel are about this rig!
This truck turned out amazing
Man, awesome mini series guys. Super relatable. If that front bumper ever needed touching up, how about having the insert section behind the front plate in matte black - TRD trim style? Either way, awesome refresh / upgrades series guys.
On that note, one of my personal favorites is the XS Power AGM battery. Cold slow starts are a thing of the past now. Talk about a huge upgrade in cold cranking power. Definitely a big recommendation for anyone else looking for a new battery.!
Awesome transformation!! License plate screws would take the front over the top lol
12:45 add a new lower fender to the front and update your fog lights to yellow ones. Complete the look to a more modern looking truck!
cool transformation, wish HoneySeal was in Halifax.
What an awesome transformation men! Now I want to update my 07' to look better.
Honestly, the updated front end is really impressive, looks great 👍
