Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 сер 2018
- Another bucket-list tarantula found in Chile! Euathlus truculentus or Euathlus pulcherrimaklaasi sp. "blue femur" is a unique theraphosid tarantula from northern Chile. Make sure you watch the whole episode of todays "Tarantula in the Wild" series when we search a unique habitat for a blue femur tarantula from South America! This species is remarkably colored, as juveniles and adult tarantula. Outstanding and extremely calm, just as other tarantulas from Chile.

I have a crazy amount of love for this genus and I am so happy that you are giving them the exposure that they deserve. I try to get a few of each species that become available in Canada, which is sadly not that many, and I have three that were sold as Euathlus pulcherrimaklaasi. I was thrilled to learn that they are actually truculentus! Such a stunning tarantula. Unfortunately, mine all look to be male and I have little chance of finding them females. That is the downside of having species that are not as common.
I don't understand why they aren't more popular. They are dead easy to care for, have decent temperaments for the most part, and are just so gorgeous. This has to be my second favourite genus, right behind Grammostola.
Thanks Vanessa! Great read as always, much appreciated :) Turns UA-cam more into a forum, I really like that community aspect!
True regarding the rarity of certain species. Sadly the Chilean species dont breed that well in captivity and the offspring is usually very tiny and growing as fast as a rock... thats why usually only WC are interesting, sadly. I hope that will change
can you share the general caresheet for them? humidity and temp requirements, enclosure type, growth rate, lifespan etc. thanks
Another great film, well done.
Thank you Guy!
Acá en Chile hay unas especies muy hermosas !!
So awesome man. Great as always
Thanks Brandon!
Martin is so cute
(: sounds like a compliment, thanks!
You can still see the blue fuh-moers xD great vid man
I blame it on the heat xD Thank you!
Very nice man! Keep it up. Look forward to the next one.
It's hard to keep the pace with one new species each week (: Thank you!
Happy that the locality I give you was usefull :)
it was great tip for sure! thanks again mate, was nice meeting up (:
Next video will be of E.sp “jade”? 👀
sadly not, dont have enough footage from that :)
Awesome Video as always, thanks for sharing your great shots of these gorgeous animals in their natural habitat! Very Cool!
Thanks a lot Michael, much appreciated :)
Awesome find!
it really was! we had a good tip on where to find them :)
Love your vids. Thank you
This is an awesome video of a wonderful species that I hadn't known up until now. I especially appreciate the habitat footage, it helps designing the tanks appropriately. Your work is amazing!
Nice
Super informative thanks for a great video with a beautiful T we don’t see everyday! 😊
Thanks Brittney! They are so adorable (:
Love it. They are beautiful T's. Keep up the awesome work and as always can't wait for the next video.
thanks a lot! Hard to keep up with the pace of one new in the wild tarantula each week, but I'm working on it! :)
Just picked up 2 adult females today off craigslist! Got them for a steal and I hear they are no longer being aloud out of Chile.
yep that's a steal!
Great!
Amazing video. I purchased one of these yesterday a young female. So happy!
Your content is hands down the best 😂 no one can compete!
i like the chile's tarantulas 🖒
we do too!
Awesome video and tarantula 👍
thank you man!
Amazing video....could not be more perfect. I'm getting one sling tomorrow....fantastic ideas for terrariums :D
happy we could help :)
Man those are some gorgeous T's! I'd love to have one as a sling!!! 🙂
Great info and video, keep um coming!
Cheers Dorian!
good the video
gracias Oliver
Awsome channel, awsome video....are you not afraid of getting hurt by one of them? are they not aggresive at all? have you experience a bite? and if yes, how did you felt afterwards?
thank you! no, never bitten and hopefully it stays that way :) they are very docile and harmless creatures
Beautiful T's, I love the purple ones as it's my favourite colour but I can't spell it's name 😂. A lovely voice as always, happy T hunting. Can I ask as really stupid question please...
Do arachnids have ears and can they hear?
I told you it was stupid but who else would I ask.
Xx 🕷🕸🕷🕸
they hear with their hairs :) google "Trichobothria" and find out more 💪
very beautiful spooder all of Euathlus genus looks really nice. but not common to see for sale in Europe. i only have a juvenile parvulus and it is very sweet but I would love a manicata or truculent or any of the others too
also its a funny name truculent is an old fashioned word for bad-tempered. but I dont think these spiders are fierce or bitey at all are they?
just as with most Euathlus, they get "upset" when kept at higher temperatures, so keep them lower and they are less defensive
Love your videos! Just FYI, femur rhymes with Dreamer. :-)
thank you so much :) well yes, I blame it on the heat LOL
Which city and park is it? Pleasr
Buena en que parte de chile es? El nombre del parque ojalá gracias
how long do they live? how long is their lifespan? thanks
I was wondering about the hairs on the carapace
a lot of urticating hears were loose, not see it that often
birdspidersCH it was really different to see. I must say, I really enjoy your videos more than any other UA-camr I watch. The information is paramount. Thank you for that
Which City is?
2:50 Witzige „Frisur“.😂
wie jetzt meinst du etwa mich?🙈😂
birdspidersCH 😂🤣😂
I'd really like to know how you can find enough money to travel only to see tarantulas in situ...
Is it an official job?
thanks for your interest Guillaume! I work fulltime, 8to6, normal job and save as much money as possible to do such trips in my free time, which is vacation and sometimes unpaid holidays
place where it was found ??
somewhere in Chile ;-)
Can we buy this species?
