    Gorgeous little spiders there Tom. And I'll admit this is the first old world that I've made a note for future reference. I'm still not sure whether I'll get into old worlds or not, but I do like the dwarf species so something like this might tempt me eventually.

    Nice little spiders, I didn't know them yet. I don't have many asian tarantulas. My focus is new world and africa, but I like all tarantulas, and this little guys are cute. I m looking forward to see them when they are grown up with adult coloration. Always nice to see genus or spec. I never have never seen befor. Thx 4 sharing. My favourite spider from asia is lyrognathus giannisposatoi, I have two adult females, I love the look of them!
    Have a great week!

    It’s not just crickets we need to worry about. I had a red runner eat my Subfusca sling, I’m assuming it ate it because when I went to feed it again there was a molt and a red runner but no Subfusca. I was heartbroken because in small town Tennessee they’re not easy to come by

    • @TomsBigSpiders
      @TomsBigSpiders  Рік тому

    Great little spiders.
    One question for you, when you have the time:
    I started with sub adults and adults and recently started with slings which I keep in dram vials.
    My issue is that some of them I haven't seen since I put them in the vials.
    I open the vials on occasion and do the smell test, but being so tiny it is possible that, if dead, they do not smell.
    When, in your opinion, should one try and get them out of the vials to see if they are alive and thriving ?
    Sorry for the long question😊
    Miguel

    • @TomsBigSpiders
      @TomsBigSpiders  Рік тому +1

      Hello, Miguel! That's a difficult question, as it all depends. With many of the slings, you won't see them until they put on some size. For those ones, I like to put out prekilled prey so that, if it's moved or gone, I know that they ate at least. For smaller slings, if they don't eat and I don't see them for several weeks (I'm talking 6 or more) then I might dig them up to check. It's difficult because a lot of the time if they are doing well and have burrowed, you won't see them. If it's been a while and you're really worried, you can carefully check on one.

    • @migueltonnies6856
      @migueltonnies6856 Рік тому

      @@TomsBigSpiders many thanks Tom. I did in fact check and a couple were indeed dead, to the point, after decomposing , it being difficult to even recognize the bodies.
      But overall most of them are thriving

I don't think I've EVER seen my scorpion eat. He's just too timid and runs from tongs. And crickets. And small stones. And... you get the picture.
