BRO, I FEEL U ABOUT THE PLAYING ON THE TOILET RITUAL!!!! One of the reasons I wanted a Steam Deck (I wanted one for MANY, MANY reasons ever since I first saw a video of it, but ngl this one was on my mind every time I played this on the PS5...) was to be able to play Multiversus anywhere in the house, including while I'm in bed and, of course, **while I'm on the toilet!!** As I actually deal with IBS on occasion and therefore I'm sometimes on the toilet for literally an hour or longer, being able to play Multiversus in the same way that I can play Smash Ultimate!
Also, now that I have the Steam Deck/a PC that I can play games on, which was not the case before I received my Deck in the mail this past Monday, I'm likely gonna give Melee online a go, so I'm glad you posted this as I'll for sure be using it! I also wanna try the Smash mods like Projext M Remix
Great Tutorial! I haven't found anyone else with a guide on how to set up Slippi on a steam deck and this helped me out a lot.
Ty I was so stoked about it just had to make one for everyone else to enjoy this
this deserves so much more attention great vid
Thank you bro
BRUH I DO THE TOILET RITUAL TOO. Sometimes its Smash Ultimate on Switch, sometimes it's MultiVersus on Steam Deck, but I think I'm gonna start trying my hand at Smash Melee soon but the only gaming PC I own is my Steam Deck, so thanks to this and a couple other vids I've seen of Slippi running smoothly on the Deck, I'mma give it a shot later today I think.
Looooool my guy! Yeah melee is the best of them all and will never die
Can you imagine this in LAN parties? Beats lugging a giant PC.
hell yeah brother
Mine just loads forever when I click it on SteamOS
same why does it only work in desktop
Same and mine crashes on desktop
Is there a solution for this yet?
looking for a solution aswell
Same here
It works for me in desktop mode, but when I want to add it to steam mode, the application does not load
me too wtf do i do
@@slowestjabroni did you guys found a solution?
@@Link_69 yes! i think i had to turn on proton experimental... there also may have been some other checkmark in there i ticked... shoot im trying to remember.
update: it was `--no-sandbox` flag
@@slowestjabroni I think I managed to make it work by adding --no-sandbox to the startup options but I'll try Proton experimental, thanks!
@@Link_69 THAT WAS IT
i don't understand how to set up the stick do you just flip the stick on which you when your entering the inputs?
Someone looking to spend the time to adapt to play exclusively on the deck could probably map some of the face buttons to the paddles for easier c stick access
Although if you're planning on doing in-person matches, I wouldn't recommend getting too used to re-mapped controls
I'm trying to see if I can set this up on my phone/tablet. Any way you could help? Would be primarily for replays and not playing online
Is there a fix to fullscreen? thanks , your videos are awesome :P
If you launch through steam you can set your buttons to the steam decks buttons
Yup and it will also allow him to setup buttons for the touchpad as well
Hav you tried hooking up gamecube controller?
Oh i was looking for this!!
Glad u found it! It’s hella fun on a portable like the steam deck
when I try to load slippi sometimes it'll load up but most times it won't and it'll just be stuck in the loading loop. Can somebody please help me with that?
bump
Same, but it works fine through desktop mode instead of using gaming mode. (And yeah I’m replying super late because I just thought of playing this on my steam deck, lol.)
Same , someone said use different proton but I haven’t tried yet. Mine doesn’t work on game mode neither
@@TrillStylesz someone helped me awhile ago this is what you have to do.
- Go to the games properties, then go to launch options
- in there type in - -no-sandbox
You shouldn't have that issue anymore after that
@@driley1988 thanks bro got it working 🙏🏽
Do you have any success with connecting a gamecube controller adapter and making it work with dolphin/slippi?
Haven’t tried. I would imagine you plug it in your dock or usb c to usb a adaptor and it should work just fine. You would have to find zadig for Linux too.
the gamecube adapter is plug and play, assuming you have enough ports for the two usbs needed for the adapter... scratch that, just tested: if you plug in just the black usb it works, just no rumble
My steam deck got purchased today I will revisit this video when I get it cause I wanna try melee online hopefully this works well for me
bought steams official dock and it read my gc adapter
I did everything up to getting the game to show up on my game mode but... when I boot it up, it doesn't start. Takes forever and then goes back to menu.
ya im not sure about game mode I'll have to give it a go again as its been a while. But I had the same experince as you. If you figure it out please let us know!
@@PizzaHandhelds i did figure it out!
Go to game properties, launch options, type "- - no-sandbox" and it should run
@@Giggles_iJest thank you so much! Only thing is there is no space between “-no-sandbox”
Thank you so much! So glad this is possible
Yw glad u could get it working and enjoy bro!
why wont the right stick work as the c stick
Can I load Limewire on this?
Nintendo, we don’t want people to play smash melee online it hurts our profit/good image.
Valve, we don’t give a fuck! Play what you want, how You want
Right???? Ty valve
alright, we connect however when i pressed connect both my snes9x and my OB from his server just FROZE? Does anyone know what could be the problem? (tried several times) I can only search by IP and not by name. The name does no work but ip does....it just does that annoying freeze crap. on my end of Steamos when i try to close it (the x) it asks to wait to terminate(basically the same thing as ending the task on Windows.
Does this interfer with an emuDeck setup?
Nope this is separate from emudeck as the package of slippi / fast melee branch of dolphin is not included in the emudeck emulators
@@PizzaHandhelds Fantastic, thanks! =)
Hey pizza 👋, does this still work in june 2024 ?
Did you have a problem using this with emudeck? For me the slippi launcher play button is stuck on "updating" and I can't do much
how do you use this emudeck as its not part of the emudeck family. Should be totally independent from emudeck. Thanks for watching!
How's the input lag though? is it noticeable?
I could notice any at all
Does that right joystick not work as a c stick?
Ya it does! The placement is a little weird from using og gc controller but it works as u would think!
Why didnt you just use your right stick as the C stick ooc?
Def a nice choice!
For some reason I can't open it from Steam, it just gets stuck and I have to force close.
yeah I recenetly tried this again and got the same result. Maybe would use the steam rom manager for the dolphin app slippi uses.
Yeah same here, 95% of the time it's get stuck in the loading loop and 5% of the time it'll load up
@@PizzaHandhelds if you haven't found a solution yet, set slippis launch option to --no-sandbox
Should work fine from there!
@@MK-bi1hj can confirm. just tried it today, thanks for the tip!
@@Romsecrets no problem! Oddly, this was required for some people since launch while it wasn't for others. It's also been fixed on other Linux distros, but I think it's specifically due to how game mode works in SteamOS
Fullscreen?
Interesting

Considering I play fox. I'd absolutely destroy my joy stick.
Lmaooooo ur analog stick would pop out like those sad pics online. But notch that bby bro get those optimal angles goin
