- A compendium of glitches, oversights, and general weirdness in Sonic 3 and S3&K. Carnival Night Zone is pretty screwed up, but hey, it wouldn't be a carnival without a plentiful amount of safety hazards and slipshod construction!

To oversimplify, the loopback is a copy of the stage that's a space filler for when the stage doesn't take up all the possible map space. You're not supposed to be able to reach it because the game sets left and right borders you can't pass but with glitches you can move fast enough to bypass the border locks and get there. Most of the time the loopback is an exact copy of the stage, just without objects like rings and enemies, but CN1 is an exception; its loopback is shifted all over the place.
holy shit you are awesome. The only oversight in my mind is by far the red/white drum that you have to press up and down on. I took me years.

With the Genesis being able to load graphics faster then the SNES, (this is "blast processing" that you see in genesis commercials) these glitches would totally mess up the NES or SNES.

This kind of thing is why I love blast processing. The only way this could happen.

1:18 that is called the slope glitch (he maintains the last slope he was on until he jumps to maintain the next slope)

1:17 This is how all collision with objects happen; certain flag gets set, and that flag will prevent player from falling down and allows only moving left or right (and up if jumped)(And that player can move in angles is caused due that when player lands on floor the routine will calculate his new angle, but the routine on ground will be skipped). In this case the flag doesn't get cleared as player doesn't properly leave the objects collision range, which effectively clears the flag.
So we play S3&K zipping, vertical warping, slopping and level swapping time, crazy play

7:17 looks formerly similar to sonic 2 glitch, whenever you get knocked into the pipe by getting hurt, it'll glitch

This stage is so glitchy I started playing sonic3 again and I clip and get stuck in so many walls
Most of these glitches have to be done on a exact moment to be done right, you don't have to TAS a Sonic '06 to see it's numerous glitches. Sonic 3+K is like Pokemon Red/Blue in a sense. There are a whole bunch of glitches but they don't appear unless you mean to do them/ are looking for glitches.

When you performed the random death glitch during the act 1 boss you weren't actually stuck with hyper sonic you just needed to get out to get rid of death glitch
I remember a pretty nice and generally smart man once said: "ALL Sonic games are glitchy as fuck!"

If you pass fast trough the slope of 0:54, you'll see a hidden sprite tile of Sonic
It only works in Sonic 3 (Carnival Night Act 1)

The first time I ever played Sonic 3, the first glitch in this video happened. I raged.
It seems i have a sort of phobia or some shit to glitches & bugs, they make me feel uncomfortable

I don't know, although it doesn't have any frights, it does mostly a more "satisfactory" result than terror/horror movies.

I just notice on the fast warp to the boss room had Sonic 3 (i think) music. I notice alot.
Here's a REALLY small one with knux that I think only works in Mushroom Hill. Glide and attach to any wall at the lowest poin. Be very precise, don't slide on the ground. Knuckles, upon hiting he lowest point of a wall (Easiest with tiny jumps) his climbing animation will loop endlessly, until you press anything. A few frames are skipped and it looks like knux is tying a knot or something.
At the annotation at 4:11 It says "Lure the Batbot over her and have it hit you..." I'm sure that's supposed to be "here" not "her" :P
Question about the Clamer gliding glitch: Does Knuckles deflect projectiles with his fists (the front of his sprite) or with his feet (the direction that he's actually moving)?
Things like this should be broadcast on television. Its interesting breaking the rules of a game.
I wonder if you'd say the same thing ten years on. The Internet sure was a different place in 2010.

This is making me believe that Sega didn't bugfix Tails' interaction with Sonic...

Not only is Sonic 3 & Knuckles the best Genesis Sonic game, it is also the glitchiest (I guess I just made up that word...)

I'm not sure if i remember this correctly, but in act 1, i was using debug mode and after i beat the act 1 miniboss, tails suddenly comes along, even though i was playing as sonic only. don't know exactly how i pulled it off.
i would prefer it if, the song was the one for the PC version. it just sounds like clowns are laughing at me!
At 4:40,if you die and respawn at the checkpoint,what would happen?
once i changed myself to knuckles and went to act 2 and there was no boss only the egg capsule
