It's been forever since I last watched these, I was worried these videos might nowadays be "unwatchable" since annotations are no more. I know it's probably been forever since you added the subs in place of annotations but yeah, thanks for that!

2:10: That's (what is supposed to be) the bottom of the Death Egg moving upwards. It does that weird scanline trick on one of the layers that Mushroom Hill's Boss Fight and Ice Cap Act 2's backgrounds do.

Sonic turned into Mephilies at the end there!
The Super Sonic Slam bug is fixed in different versions of Sonic 3. Instead when slammed to the platform he sort of "bounces" out as the spring sound plays.
Previously in Sonic 2:
Eggman: sonic you're supposted to go through the stage
Sonic: *slope glitch*
Eggman: i hope the next game doesn't have this glitch
Now in Sonic 3:
Sonic: *slope glitch + zip*
Eggman: OH COME ON
Tails: *unexpected zip on sandopolis*
Eggman: WHAT

About the "CURSE" blocks at 7:04, they're obviously not meant to spell that but the pattern's far from random. I only just noticed the top row is actually "C0 C1 C2" and the bottom is likely to just be "C4 C5 C6"... I'm still clueless as to why they're there though!

Well, I don't know if it was bug, because I used to think if the developer makes the Big Arms' slam attack can hurt even Super Sonic deliberately, which does make sense, considering he is FINAL BOSS in Sonic 3 😅
it is a bug because in s3k the egg robo big arms cant hurt super knuckles
@@animegamingdude In Sonic 3 and Knuckles, Super / Hyper Sonic can't be damaged by him either. So it was bug in Sonic 3 only
Launch base zone is the glitchiest zone in the game
the secret place under launch base... it has been there for 26 years..

The exploding platform dropping Sonic into a discoloured glitch world at 1:30 looks uh.. post-apocalyptic.
There is a glitch you seemed to have missed:
At the beginning of the Launch Base Zone, it is possible to sit in the first alarm with a spin dash and summon/destroy robot after robot. From the 13th robot on, you get 10,000 points per robot--meaning another life every 5 robots.
When you hit 200+ lives, the counter starts looking rather strange.
Because It’s NOT a glitch.

I never knew about all these glitches and using Knuckles path for sonic without debug mode and using sonics path with knucles.

@MastaGambit I still think its Binary since I notice that Font anywhere it happens when ever you fuck with the game really bad in Debug mode or Game Genie cheats(certain ones).
such as skrewing around too much can cause things like the Stage complete screen parts of it turning into moving Hex strings(repeatedly changing numbers) plus in Debug Mode that same Font replaces the Font in Score.

I forget which part you did this in, but I recently tried to get Knuckles in Sonic's Area. I died while fighting the bowling ball boss and when I respawned, all the water was orange! It was weird but cool.

I'd figured it'd show hexadecimals, not binary numbers. How come?
+everett1911 Hexadecimal is just binary in a more manageable form. Even if something is written in hexadecimal, it's very base will still be binary.
Programs are mainly written in hexadecimal because it's a more compact translation. To give an example, 12 would be wrote in binary as '1100', whereas in hexadecimal, it would be 'C'. Of course, the hexadecimal is easier to remember, and shorter to type.
The program converts the hexadecimal into binary, as that is the only language a computer can understand. (Sorry if that was a little long-winded)

@nintendork64 That is Binary Code its reason for being there is either caused by the game being corrupted or Sega's own reasons but more than likely its the game creating this it would seem weird to create a string of Binary Coding instead of a Hex String.

What about that part in act 2 where there's a compartment in the wall with TVs, which is closed off after you hit a switch? Every time I go in there Tails hits the switch off-screen and traps me inside. EVERY. TIME.

@2010gaje Actually, that binary is all the code behind the background. It probably IS supposed to be hex, yet only that 0101 pattern appears in that part of the data grid. So if you were to peel back every single layer of the background, you would see all of the level's tileset & hex data.

it would be great of orkal could make a video exploring this area in debug mode. you can, Ive done it before when I had this game when I was about 12 there were a lot more letter than that too as I remember I always thoghut it was the developers/coders intials or something easter eggy like that.
