Really a well-planned, clear and instructive video with no fluff. Great camera angles and clear, demonstrative instructions. My ONLY issue is how easy the parts and bolts separated. I'm currently replacing just the calipers and rotor on a 2005 RAV4 and at least one bolt is frozen solid. Using lots of penetrating oil and muscle, but no joy so far... Thinking about replacing the rotor/wheel dust cover/shields because they're so badly rusted, but that's probably another project in itself. Anyway, thanks for the excellent instructions! Subscribed!
I like how you demonstrate the job. I think you are an honest car repairman which is different from other guys who are making money n fool car owners just to make money from them.
The axle nut indent is a pain to punch out of the groove. Ended up gouging into the metal on the axle shaft instead. Could use some info on the specific size of the punch you used in this video
Great Video, I have couple of questions. 1 - Can you take the caliper brackets off without taking the caliper off so less work but also don't have to push the brake piston back in? 2 - I don't have a bucket of bolts, do you know what size of bolt I can use for my 2007 Rav4 Limited in the holes to pull the rotor off the hub? Thank you.
1) Yes, I’ve done it before it’ll just a tight squeeze back on. 2) Use a Hammer just be carful not to smash the actual rotor and just hit it on the face where the wheel mounts. It’ll definitely take longer but if you wanted to just get the bolts i think they are M8x1.25.
Any reason you shouldn't let a friend just hold the brake while torqueing the axle nut? With the brakes back together of course. Figured if you have someone around to jump in the driver seat you then wouldn't need to have a long crow bar or stress the lugs.
Hey thanks for this I just replaced my front wheel hub bearings in the front first time ever great experience I got lucky no rust everything came off easy 2013 rav 4 thank you. Anytime I tend to take my tire off and put it back on there's a rattling noise the tire place in my neighborhood put their hand through my rim one time and did something with the plate to make it stop making noise I wonder what they did does anybody have any insight on this? Sounds like a light grinding noise I know that I put everything in together fine..

One of the best DIY vids I've seen yet. You do an excellent job narrating. Thanks!!!
Thanks for the walk through. Gonna let a pro deal with my bearings.

Nice video & instructions. I tool out the ABS sensor just to make sure I didn't break it during removal / install.
Thanks for the excellent video...everything was clear and concise!!
Make sure you remove the abs sensor before you start hammering 🙏🏼
Very clear video and easy to follow. I love it buddy!!!
I believe this would be for an 06-16 Rav4. 05 has pressed in bearings in the front (unfortunately)
Best bearing hub replace ever
Do y’all have the rear backing plate??
Very clear and detailed hub replacement , so easy even a caveman can do it
First class video.

Is the 2017 Rav4 the same procedure?
Whats the bolt size to push the caliper off?

What is the 30mm 12pt Socket for?
+PUNKISINTHEDETAILS The 30mm 12 point socket is used to remove the axle nut.

Bent backing plate. They bent it back into place slightly so it’s not rubbing on the disc
Shaq Milb I’m assuming when you take the tyre off you are hooking the backing plate somehow bending it causing it to rub on the disc
2005 is not same it have same motor but not the part
