- New court hearings are in the works for former UA-cam “momfluencer” Ruby Franke and her business partner Jodi Hildebrandt. The two are accused of abusing at least two of Franke’s children, who were found bruised and emaciated in Hildebrandt’s Utah home. I'll never forget one thing Ruby said that told me everything I need to know about this sick woman. She said her biggest fear was waking up one day and having nothing to film of her kids for the channel. THAT was her biggest fear in life. SICK!

I seriously doubt that will happen, based solely on the fact that they have not been given a bond and have been held this entire time! The Judge wasn't giving them any chances to run... Which i firmly believe they would have... If they get less than ten years, I will be shocked!! And furious may i add... And so will many others...

Jodi had a safe room full of kidnapping and torture paraphernalia- and Rubi was living with her and making videos! How could they POSSIBLY get a light sentence?! That would be insane.
I agree. Even if Ruby attempts to blame everything on Jodi, she still won’t get away with it. It was Jodi’s home where it all took place, but Ruby could have stopped it. I imagine this would be the only way she would get a lighter sentence. If she somehow convinced everyone that Jodi brainwashed her.
Well Jodi DID brainwash her, but that’s not an excuse. She was clearly free to come and go from the torture mansion and could have saved her children at any time.
I think the mormon church will help them to get a light sentence. The more i see and read about this stuff, the more I’m sure of that’s what will happen. Mark my words.

With our insane courts, they may get so little time. Look at the case of the boy in a box, only five years to the father and he may not serve not all of that. Children are not protected.
There’s something fishy about the husband and the fact that he was trying to file charges against his daughter for taking stuff from their home. Who cares about that? Why be so pity when your entire life turned upside down? There’s something wrong with that guy!
The big question is that if he had not been in the house during the year plus, how did he know what needed to be returned. Since he was videoed looking over the items and saying it was all there, he had to have been in the house and is lying to everyone.
The things she took included hard drives, which really makes you wonder what was on them that got him so flustered...
He should be liable too! How does anyone accept not seeing their kids.

Jodi and Ruby had a cult. That's what it was. A cult. And the fact they had a basement safe room full of torture and implements to harm their kids if they didn't abide by their screwed up cult rules just speaks volumes about their depravity. I think somewhere along the way, it went from disciplining their kids to just.. torturing the 'distortion' out of them.
I want these women to face justice! There is no remorse. We know Jodi managed to finagle her way out of one issue against her license. Ruby does not have maternal feelings and the kids deserve good lives.
The FBI needs to investigate the Utah state government if these women walk free. Something is gravely wrong with that state if these women are protected by their Mormon social clout.

Because of the accusations made against the young boy, it would be best for his future if additional crap information isn't made public by any defense attorney. There is no reason for this child to get drug through the mud while these two women try to cover their own butts. We may not like a plea deal, but it may be deemed better for the children involved.

Won't do either of them any good as there's proof Ruby was present & at times lived with Jodi. The children would also have been forensically interviewed by psychologists & law enforcement.

Ugh… Utah has screwed up with these types of cases before - I REALLY hope they don’t repeat history with a light sentence that endangers these kids in the future. They need to make a clean break from Ruby and be allowed to move forward with their lives. I’m sure everyone remembers the Powell case, there IS even danger in supervised visits.
I pray that this doesn’t mean that a higher institution isn’t behind this trying to sweep it under the rug. I doubt it, but do wonder if Ruby is willing now to throw Jodi under the bus.
I watched her vlogs for years, so I know the ins and outs of her behavior pretty well. I can’t help but wonder if she’s trying anything just to get out of jail. Even if it’s just until the trial. She’s extremely narcissistic. I honestly think she would try anything just to get out of there. She’s such a horrible person.

Ruby has been offered a plea deal and the whole case will be over soon enough. SAers and killers get offered plea deals, too. This is not uncommon.

I would like to see what her 2 older (adult) children have to say about how they were parented. Was there a change in how the children were disciplined after Ruby started listening to Jodi? I have been wondering about that.
I have a feeling that Ruby's parenting was so inconsistently punitive that it might be hard for the kids to detect a change. It was all weird but all they'd ever known was weird. If these kids don't have disordered attachment styles I'll eat my hat.

LOL, no. It's common to waive the prelim. All that happens there is the accused is told the nature of the charges against him/her. They already know, so it's waived pretty much pro forma.
What are the differences between the prosecution vs. the defense requesting this hearing?
The prosecution is the one who offers plea deals to defendants. Which is why he mentioned a plea deal could have been reached.
Have the police tried to get those electronic devices that Kevin threw a fit over back? She recorded EVERYTHING. Anyone curious how much footage is on there and what the real Ruby and Kevin look like in that footage?
Who has custody of the kids? Both parents are unfit.
Whatever happens in all this I hope the children are safe and happy. It would be nice if Ruby got no less than 10 years so the kids would all basically be adults.

There are so many cases similar to this, many much worse. Yet they get little or no coverage. Just do a search for mom or parents starved children. Its as if its a common form of punishment with a certain percentage of maniacs.

I got it from my brother. He's a lawyer. The preliminary hearing is very significant. Testimony gets locked in. The prosecution does not want a preliminary hearing because witnesses become locked in and cant change their testimony at trial.
They were both on their way to being lovers anyway so maybe the women’s prison system is best

I sure hope a deal isn't that Ruby Franke gets immunity for turning on Jodi because SHE, Ruby, was brainwashed. Or that any details are sealed. I'm worried that because this case has been so weird as evidenced by the complete silence on this case. I have a feeling Ruby might somehow escape justice. The case is Mormon on it's ugly face and this is in Utah. I could see how the Church has some hand in this silence. Utah is very weird and how this case is being handled is very weird.
