Got to be one of your best modified episodes Ronny! Great story behind the rig with his mate as inspiration, incredible build and nice to learn about the winery side as well. Good work Ronny 👍
I have a 1996 toyota hilux that I am slowly building up to be both a tourer and heavy duty 4x4, your videos are great inspiration for me especially the modified series. Thank you
Hey Ronny, loving the videos. I think everyone wants to see a modified for their very own 4be, like me. There are sooo many landcruiser modified episodes!! I drive a Dmax so ahh you know what you have to do..
I like that some people recognise the 79 are pretty capable and although not cheap put money into THEIR important things. As cool as a portal/coil/tuned example is it isn’t essential for 98% of folks.
I like the idea of the rear tire mounts! Now I have a easier to execute idea for my truck ;-) Mine is different though and will have doors below (!) the tire holder (where the doors are supposed to end at the roof) ... someday this year ...
As a Patrol owner i love seeing Toyota owners mods on there rigs, nice gear, however the lights shown here are VERY expensive and in Tasmania we are having trouble with people stealing patrols & Toyota's or just stealing the gear off them or both then burning out the 4x4's leaving us owners gutted. I won't skimp on some things but led lights you can get cheaper ones (NOT TOO CHEAP) that still are good. Over all nice Rig and love the vids
Nice car, but great idea with that camper part. And it looks better, when the back doesn't stand out to the sides that much. The handles look like Thors hammer ;-) Funny Whistler Wines logo with the drinking skeleton out of The Last Unicorn. Cheers from Hamburg/Germany
You've got FYRLYT company on your doorstep, yet you've gone ahead and bought LED/HID lights..... Have a look into Fyrlyt Nemesis; you won't be disappointed.
Right choice on the 80, Ronny. Would love to see a 24volt-based aux batt and devices setup managed by RedArcBCDC1225D with solar and alternator regen...in an 80. And why 4 axle breathers...just curious.
Also how much is invested in this entire rig or yours for that matter so I can get an idea of cost for my future build . Cost of the vehicles delivered as well please include
@@joesmith7123 I recon it will be around $130 and over. How do I know? That canopy and tray is around $30K, truck is $80K, lots of other accessories $130 and over 100%. I bought my truck 3 month ago and I'm already on $110 and still not finished.
I have the same setup with the canopy on my dual cab as it has the jack off system , how does he carry his legs for the canopy ? as mine are not only big but very heavy to the point I don't bother taking them camping and only use them at home .
i always find it hilarious that my 34 year old work truck has a spring loaded hood that keeps it up without something to prop it up, whereas a lot of newer vehicles require a hood prop to stay open
exactly what you called them tyre pressure monitor, look them up on ebay, lots of different types on there, or Opposite lock ARB & most other aftermarket places sell them too, just remember you get what you pay for when it come to quality,
A jack-off canopy is a great way to setup a tourer. Especially if your staying for more than 1 day in an area. Most people say in regards to long term touring packing up everyday to go see places is one of the worst parts especially with permanently mounted Roof top tent
one of the cons with installing airbags is they limit the amount of travel or "flex" so the shock absorber wont be performing to its full potential, especially in the case of what the BP51s offer
@@michaelcook5233 Not if you get Daystar lower cradles. They allow you to attach the air bag to the frame only. The cradle sits on the axle side giving a place for the air bag to nest, but not attached. This allows the suspension droop fully while still having airbag support.
Just putting it out there... Awesome set up but there aren’t any engineering concerns with the idea of placing a 400kg box, plus gear, plus roof top tent (which acts as a sail in wind) elevated more than a metre in the air on four legs that have no cross bracing between legs or tie down to ground? I know plenty of structural engineers who wouldn’t sign off on the principles being set up here. Open to learning, however, what makes this a stable set up when in base camp mode? I can see the 600 or 700kgs of ‘dead load’ and the gusseted legs but it still looks like a very elevated load with a potential sail set up above it...
Is this guy afraid of the dark? Great set up, love the hidden fuel filler and lockable too :) The lift off canopy is great for being able to keep your campsite, when you go for a drive around.
A large expensive filter in the exhaust pipe that catches soot particles and burns them using heat from the exhaust, usually by injecting extra fuel. They are hugely problematic because they block up very easily unless the vehicle is doing long trips with reasonable load on the engine. When they block up, they usually don't clear out as well as they are supposed to and often need to be replaced for a lot of money. When the engine gets a few Ks on it and starts using a little oil and passing some through the turbo, it blocks the DPF with ash which can't be burnt off. Also they are a big fire hazard. They can get up to extreme temperatures so you need to be very careful to clean out any dry grass from around them before they heat up.
I wonder... why I see so many ppl use snorkel when these vehicles have so much electronics in them. If you go so deep in water to need to use the snorkel, your car will be dead in the water 100%
Red wine is so good for camping. Those late nights into camp, a nice meal and bottle of red with a fire :)
Bring him on a trip! Seems like a fun bloke and I'd love to see his rig alongside yours, Even an entire trip of just 79 series.

Are those headlights ADR approved?
Stupid question I no but is it possible to do all that to a 2 door cruiser
Its easier weight less of an issue for a single cab
Is the roof LED bar fixed to the rack?
Is this a steel or aluminium tray??? Great video again Ronny.

Where are the legs being stored for taking off the canopy Ronny? - 4 legs an they're heavy

Nice one 👍
I'm about to put BP-51's on a 76 series, with air bags... would like to know more about why you'll waste your money in the rear..??
one of the cons with installing airbags is they limit the amount of travel or "flex" so the shock absorber wont be performing to its full potential, especially in the case of what the BP51s offer
I would also suggest airbags help prolong the life of shock as far as overheating goes. which is a big advantage of remote resi shocks
