This GPU, all in white, is very beautiful! Cool Etaprime and congratulations on another excellent video! 👏👏👍
As always a great perfect video, cheers from Alicante, Spain. Congratulations for your channel.
Yeah, I would love Linux video with this card!
Omg those scores this card is definitely a must in 2024 😮😮
That space is for some massive radiators, that chips needs them
It's funny, but there used to be an era when you didn't have to spend time with various settings on the driver level/software to play your games at as fast as your computer could. Insane I know.
I built a mid range PC with a ryzen 5 5600g CPU 32gb 3200mhz ram and a Radeon 5700xt card that I got for $150 total build was about $550 and after some tuning I'm getting 80plus fps in 1440p in newer games so I feel like this card should be performing way better at that price it cost the same as my whole pc. 😅
He was testing max settings and no upscaling 5700xt can't do 80+fps without upscaling and mixed settings
While I don't think anyone would disagree the prices of modern GPUs are damn ridiculous, the benchmark is completely fair. He turned off all upscaling.
why did u buy the 5600g when you bought a GPU? Its way worse than the 5600 due to Cache reduction.
@@samserious1337 because I had a 1060 before I chose to upgrade because I didn't buy all my parts at the same time because people do that...
My brother in christ... The point is that it's not weird to mix and match parts, not that it's an optimal build...
@@stinklord420 The question goes to OP, not to you.

I've been thinking I'm going to go AMD on my next GPU upgrade because all the SteamOS distros work with nVidia but not as well. If Valve ever releases SteamOS for every PC I bet it will just run better on AMD.
Been thinking about finding someone to trade my unopened 3090ti for a high-end AMD for just this reason.
That's because Nvidia's Linux drivers are out of date and rely on community mods to stay up to date. If Valve releases a real version of SteamOS, I imagine Nvidia will put more focus on their Linux drivers.
@@ItsFreakinJesus this is completely wrong, and plenty of holo iso alternatives work fine with Nvidia Linux drivers. The reason holo iso and valves steam OS don't work out of the box with Nvidia has to do with Valve, not Nvidia.
There's even an official Nvidia kernel module driver that is completely open source that's still baking. People didn't like the official Nvidia driver because of the binary blob, not because it was out of date.
@@ItsFreakinJesus are you living in the late 2000s? Nvidia GPU isnt out of date but since its properitary or whataver that was called everyone hated it(even linus torvalds)
absolutely wanna see this card on all amd and chimera os or similar!! pretty please hehe
Love to see a Holo ISO or Chimera OS video with this system.
Dude do you think you could put a logo on your thumbnails? Sometimes I click on a video not even knowing it's yours and I really like your videos 😅👍
This is gonna look good with my steel legend mb. Do you think this card will pair well with a ryzen 7700x cpu? Or will the cpu cause a bottleneck?
Yes a linux test and stable diffusion if you can and will. It's hard to find any AI testing. But I think it's a factor nowadays.
Bought me a SAPPHIRE PURE Radeon RX 7900 GRE(Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 GRE Pure) just 5 days ago. Going in an All White Build.
Earlier this week I ordered a 7800X3D, B650E, 7900 GRE to rebuild my intrepid 9600K @ 4.4Ghz, Z370, 3060 Ti rig. The price to performance ratio was too good to pass up. I just happened to buy the ASRock Steel Legend version of it and the B650E motherboard to match.
Hey man! I'm literally planning to do the EXACT SAME UPGRADE, exact same GPU too, it'd be amazing to know how it runs? Coming from a i7-9700kf paired with a 3060ti, looking at the Asrock Steel Legand 7900 GRE since its the only one i can find here with 3x Display ports which i require as i have a simrig and its best to use the same cables.
It's running awesome! It was well worth the upgrade. I'm seeing about 40-50% performance increase overall. I bought the Alienware Freesync OLED ultrawide 3440x1440p monitor with this build. I wanted a bit more GPU power for the extra resolution over the 3060Ti. I never used ASRock parts in my main PC before now. I've been building computers since the mid 1990s. I'm impressed with the ASRock Steel Legend parts and they look trick. It booted first try and has been solid. I'm using PBO to TJMax 85*C with CO -20mv with great temps on the 7800X3D at ~40*C idle and ~65*C full prime95 load with a simple Thermalright Burst Assassin single tower 6-pipe cooler. The price to performance of the 7900 GRE vs the 7800 XT or 7900 XT is fantastic in my opinion. Going up to the 7900 XT or XTX has significant diminishing returns in value. From what I've been reading and testing the 7900 GRE is about on par with an RTX 4070 Super and in some cases a 4070 Ti for less money. If you care about RT then RTX GPUs are still better, but I don't care about RT in general and you can still use it, it just has a bigger performance hit. Once AMD fixes the drivers for the 7900 GRE you will be able to OC the RAM a bit and get it even closer to an XT in performance. The B650E has PCIe 5.0 for future proofing a bit which is nice and the board dropped to $200 last week. You could go with a 7600X or 7700X CPU, but I wanted to give the 7800X3D a try and it was only a few dollars more at the time with discounts. Good luck on the build, remember to update BIOS/UEFI. @@amarokdcs1062
I had a friend help me with my build a month ago and I was going with Am4 and a RTX 4060. It was meant to play at 1080p but I just wanted 1440p so thanks to Amazon returns I found a very well priced 7800X3D and obviously had to improve my card. I thought of 7700XT and it was already a huge improvement against the 4060 but then considered 7800XT and just a little further ended up buying the 7900GRE, specially now that you can increase the memory speeds. I couldn’t be happier with my final decision. It is a beast for 1440p
@@rolgolding Congrats on the new rig! I'm loving my new setup as well. I was able to get some decent OC on the GPU and PBO on the CPU too. For a new build I couldn't justify going with AM4 even though it's a great platform. With AM5 and PCIe 5.0 on the B650E motherboard the new platform should have a long life. The 7800X3D is a little overkill for the 7900 GRE but the GPU is the first thing to be upgraded as new generations release. The 7800X3D will last a long time even with much higher performing GPUs in the future. I used a Thermalright Burst Assassin heatsink for $22 and added a $6 matching Thermalright fan on the other side. I get idle temps ~40*C and load temps ~55-65*C depending on the game. Not bad for a $28 cooling solution. For some reason even at the same voltage, same frequency, and less load some games seem to use the 3d v-cache more and cause the temps to go up significantly. For example the vast majority of games run around 55-60*C but GTAV even with less load runs at ~75*C. Doesn't make sense to me. The only thing I can figure is that game uses the 3d v-cache more intensively creating a hotspot. Enjoy the new build!
@@Ramshackle6984 man what a comment, thank you for taking the time. I will consider the extra fan since I only use 1 and with high loads the CPU is around 75°. GPU is nice and cool being the 7900GRE pulse. I know the CPU was an overkill but whatever, I already bought it. It might last me another improvement on the GPU in a couple years. We’ll see.
I finally got to play more Witcher 3 today and it doesn’t go down from 145FPS everything in Ultra + and 1440p resolution. What a dream.
In games limited to 60 FPS, AFMF allows 120 FPS or more, making.
I am concerned that the memory's are the same as the Rx7800xt, but for 90% of gamers it is already over spec'd. Wonderful👍
This is awesome 👍
Interesting enough, the 7900 GRE is almost identical to its older brother being the 6900 XT both in terms of performance and specs, the biggest difference is the power draw with the 7900 GRE at 260W and the 6900 XT at 300W.
Yeah this on chimera os could be nice, I would be interested if U can get frame Gen even on Linux?
I'm waiting for the sinks to be showcased on this channel.
Kitchen sink reviews lets go
In 3D Mark Fire Strike i got 57.000 Graphics score and i have only used auto OC from RADEON.
I dont know for sure, maybe it gets more because it is in a combination with a ryzen 5 7600 ?
Plus 1 for Linux performance video
BTW, you do realize that just because a game, for example Cyberpunk 2077, sets upscaling as default to some ultra setting, it doesn't mean you have to keep it that way. You can change it or even disable it. JFYI.
are you able to change the rgb or disable it on the gpu? those colors are ugly :(
Nice trick if the game has FSR 3 turn it on then press Shift+ALT+G and watch your fps skyrocket
I'm on my second day of owning this card... it's SO capable. The weak spot is clearly raytracing; take that out of the equation and its a monster.
You can't measure AFMF with Afterburner, only internal Adrenalin overlay will show real fps
nice vid
😊 1440p cb2077 you can even path trace with a 7900 xtx and fmf.........90 fps average, in strong scenes more like 50. but it is playable.......that's true 🤘
wooow the power usage very friends of high electricity 😅
This card is better than some say, it's more capable of gaming in high res as well better future proofing. Love the card design as well.
Why would you say its better future proofing? Is it better than a 7800xt in terms of future?
@@sabinopereira1631cause he doesn't know anything and he has confidence to show for it
What case is that please
I've got an msi 6950xt near me i can pickup for $515. Do you guys think it's worth the extra to get this gpu or is the 6950xt worth it? I plan on undervolting/overclocking whatever gpu i get though
The 6950 XT is better than the GRE but not the MSI model. The MSI model of the 6950 XT is known to overheat.
MSI used direct copper heatpipes which aren't good for the hotspot temps.
If you get it expect it to run at around 100c or hotter.
The only solution is to repaste it with PTM 7950 which might lower the hotspot to around 90c.
Anyways just get a 7900 GRE from Sapphire and lose like 2% performance for much better power efficiency
But you won't have to worry about temps ever again because the card runs extremely cool.
@@100500daniel looked it up and while I didn't see too many issues your assessment seems right. In that case I think I'll wait a bit to see which 7900 gre (hopefully a white one) over clocks the best while keeping temps low. Don't need to finish my build till summer so I have time lol
Comute units?
i saw at 260w you could probably get away with just 1 dedicated 8pin and just have one of those piggy back cables, because the pcie bus is 75w then pcie 8 pin is 150w so it gets you to 225 so its not that far over.
when will you make another video with winlator?
DisplayPort 2.1 is awesome for a lower-budget card.
cool would this be a big upgrade from a standard 6800?
nope, wait for rdna4, you will get 4080s / 4070s performance for $600/$400
Not really. It's a gimped 7800xt marketed to the Chinese that ended up over here somehow. While it's objectively a little faster than your card, I would save my money for the next generation. The 6800 still gets pretty good performance.
I like ETA Prime overall, but I'm bothered at his lack of consistency in testing GPUs. He tests one game at 1440p, then another game at 4K. He needs to do the same resolutions for every game!
I saw the DF review, Raytracing is on par with a 4070
Yes, LInux, please
It's a bit of a shame that AMD kept the "GRE" suffix for this card because it would've made more sense just to call it the "RX 7900" because that's essentially what it is.
did you use rt in forza 5 extreme?
It always pulls almost 315 watts gpu power in some games 💀
is that normal on other gpus too?
Yes Normal for RX 7900 XTX XT and GRE in 4k you will hit the power limit 310 and in 1440p
I don't see the price of that gpu. And can you test Android operating system as well with the Android games.
pretty gpu
Can I ask if it's okay just put the gpu in the pc to test it then remove it after?
yeah, of course its okay, who is gonna stop you for doing that ?
Just so you know to see the true fps of amd fluid motion YOU WILL NEED TO TURN ON THE AMD OVERLAY TOO SEE THE TRUE FPS.
I'm waiting on a RX 6800@$300.
Linux = Yes
Europeans who've been able to buy this in pre builds at retailers for over a year watching americans in awe about this card.
Europe Sucks tho MErica #1
A graphics card being a timed exclusive to your region is nothing to be proud of.
Please brag endlessly about your "free" healthcare like a normal pretentious European.

This is the REAL 7800XT
Maybe a year ago.
Give us Linux testing.
Oh its just as good as my 6950xt nice
The GPU seems to run fairly warm compared to other GREs... Disappointing
Bro got the AMD Radeon 79000 GRE lmao check the thumbnail
hm, the transparent plastic blade makes it look cheap
How to upgrade 4070 to 4070 ti? Just buy a controller 😎
This card should be $499.99.
Linux +1
We already had a 6900XT this is not an improvement
GTFO with that price AMD!
Why does it matter if they review it before it goes live if you never say anything negative anymore anyways...
Just 129% from my 980 GTX yet 100w more power consumption. No way.
This has 4 times the memory compared to the GTX 980, and it's faster too, that alone can raise the power consumption significantly.
❗ "Promo SM"
Why would you test the AMD GPU with Intel build? Why not go full AMD? Pretty weird i must say..
I was going to ask the same thing, but I would also mention Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor
@@Bilal.Hussain.Shaikh yeah.. it's like running an Intel Arc GPU with AMD build..which is i never seen yet on any reviewers doing that..
@@mikiswordbreaker4805 yeah, Hopefully, some UA-camr should built all AMD PC for this kind of test, especially emulation side
It honestly doesn't matter
It's ETA Prime dude...
It's sh*t. AMD locked down any overclocking so they could artificially limit ram/clock speeds. If you want faster then you have to spend more. This brilliant strategy has got AMD over.. 10% of the current gpu market. If you have never used or seen a video card, knew absolutely nothing about video cards.. You could still not mess up selling them any worse than AMD currently does. Sad.
Umm "amazing performance" Yeah, I'm not too sure about that

This is literally the worst option AMD has. 2-4% extra performance for 10% extra cost.
