I’m 21 just out of university and looking for a job. I randomly stumbled onto your first video and this is genuinely invaluable knowledge. I was looking to move out straightaway but now I’m going to live at home for a year to save money. And the first episode is so simple yet is essential on how to view money.

Just catching up to week 2…wow that chart near the end of lifetime earnings vs networth is so powerful. Kind of blew my mind to be honest, and it really sunk in when Alan said it was like you’ve never spent a penny of what you’ve earned!! Very inspirational.

I actually did the course last year and have already made lots of changes but i thought it couldn't hurt to listen to again as I'm sure I'll pick something new up! Wish I had done my net worth starting at like 18. Didn’t do my first net worth until my late 30s and we were already positive net worth by then. Would have liked to see how far we have come since we were negative net worth from car loans and student loans …

@@rebeldonegans no not really tbh....I had my performance appraisal yesterday and my boss (who is excellent with money) - seems to be open to chatting! Also met up for coffee with two ex-colleagues who are retired and was 'bleeding their brains' for information!!!!

13 mins in and somewhat frustrated by lack of a definition of Net Worth - what counts as Net Worth? cash/savings/investments only? or physical things?
given I don't know what you are including in Net Worth, I can't answer the question - and this really, really bugs me.
@@lucysaunders4051 hey Lucy, the video goes through everything that is in and out of the networth. It take a little bit of time to explain as some of it is more contentious and a lot of what we think about as something that will not look after you in retirement is what people traditionally think of as an asset. Thank you for the feedback. The video does explain if you keep going and in the next version in 2025 we will work to bring it forward.
@@rebeldonegans yes, I did work that out - and have now listened to all of it, but you were asking me to answer a question without giving me parameters - maybe its because I'm a teacher and I want to answer questions and I want to get it right and am just deeply frustrated by not being able to get it right because I don't know the definitions/parameters.
Do you include state pension?
We don’t include it in our net worth statement, but we are aware it’s coming and we count it for future income. This means our target for what we need to live off is lower after our state pension age.
