    Becoming a millionaire through a Roth IRA or a 401(k) involves different strategies for maximizing profits. A Roth IRA offers tax-free withdrawals in retirement, which can be advantageous if you expect to be in a higher tax bracket later in life. On the other hand, a 401(k) provides tax-deferred growth and potential employer contributions, boosting your savings. The optimal choice depends on factors like your current and future tax situation, employer match, and investment options. Consulting a financial advisor can help tailor a strategy that aligns with your financial goals and circumstances.

    In my opinion, I'd say the IRS is a huge crime syndicate. They count on people folding when they see these bogus collection letters. Truth is that everyone is better off standing up and saying no rather than calling it what it is-illegal taxation. Since stock market appreciation is not taxed, I personally invest most of my money there. Thats how i made my first $1million.

    Fortunately, I had a college economics teacher that taught me a lesson at 18. That lesson was: for every huge, frivoluos purchase you make, you need to have an investment double it's worth, this doesn't necessarily mean you should always invest when you make a purchase, it simply means living within your means. Varied sources of income is wise and especially like i said, living within your means. Whenever you're about to make a huge, dumb purchase that doesn't add value think about taxes and how you get your income. I made $272k combined net last year and paid no Federal taxes.

      Only if you had pre tax money in it. That’s why most people that do this have two traditional IRAs. One for pre tax money and one where they don’t take the deduction on money put into the traditional so that it can be immediately rolled over once funds have settled. Also when you put money into the traditional ira that you are specifically going to rollover you put it into the holding account in the ira. DO NOT INVEST IT IN THE TRADITIONAL IRA. If you do, once you roll it over you will owe taxes on the gains. I've come to realize that the key to amassing wealth lies in making sound investments. I purchased my first home at the age of 21 for $87,000 and sold it for $197,000. My second home, acquired for $170,000, was later sold for $320,000, and my third property, purchased at $300,000, fetched $589,000, with buyers covering all closing costs and expenses. Not reaching a million before retirement feels like an unfulfilled goal...

    This is all true. And I have been doing all of this since 2010 (that is when I figured this out!). I have a TIP!! Regarding the Plain Back Door (the $7,500/$6,500 for 2023 in the example). I also had some Pretax IRAs (Pretax means you deducted them on your taxes). Before you do any conversion of your After-Tax IRAs, you need to get rid of your pretax IRAs; otherwise, your Back door Roths will be partially taxable. One way to do this is ask your employer if they allow Rollover contributions to the 401K. I rolled my Pretax IRAs into my 401K, problem solved!

    It's recommended to save at least 15% of your income in a 401k. You can use online calculators to estimate how much you should save based on your age and income. Saving at least 15% of your income in a 401(k) can help ensure that you have enough money to retire comfortably. By saving this much, you can take advantage of compound interest and potentially grow your retirement savings over time.

  • @james5460
    @james5460 10 місяців тому +5

    You'd better be making good six-figure money to take advantage of most of this. But max out your company 401k - do it as a Roth if you can - and also make the individual Roth on top of that - $6500 or $7500 depending on your age - and you're accumulating $30k+ per year just doing that. And that ain't beanbag, as Jack would say. It helps if you have extra money lying around. A lot.

      When you do it with a 401k this is called an in-plan conversion. You can do it as often as you put money into the account. In fact Fidelity offers this on auto pilot, they will instantly recharacterize your after tax contributions to Roth if you turn the setting on in your account. I am sure other brokerages do as well.

    Insane amount of information in 15 minutes. Most tech savvy or just detailed minds can do this. If you can’t, just buy your time back and get a consultation. When you are middle class, you try to do things on your own to “save money” but at the cost of time. My goal is to buy my time back, which I noticed is a common theme among more finally successful individuals.

    About the 15% rate of return being unattainable. This year the Nasdaq is up Year to Date 34%. In 2020 I was up 60% all stocks all wall street so its for sure possible. Don't worry about all that other nonsense and real estate and crypto forget all of it. Concentrate on stocks and good companies or ETFs. You will get there.

    Backdoor roth is only for people who does not have any rollover ira. Once ira has pretax savings, that move from rollover ira to roth ira has to be propotional between pretax amount and aftertax amount. It sucks that not every employers set up mega backdoor roth for their employees. Needs (being able to contribute to aftertax bucket + in-plan conversion.)

      i'm not sure I understand your comment. What do you mean by "proportional"?

    • @chanhuang614
      @chanhuang614 7 місяців тому

      @@fahlou2019 let's say for backdoor roth, you want to put in $6k into your (traditional/roll over) IRA and move that $6k into roth IRA because you already paid income tax on that $6k. Let's assume your (traditional/roll over)IRA account already had $10k (pretax savings) from previous years. If you want to move your $6k (already paid income tax for it) from rollover IRA to roth IRA, you will also need to move 100% of that pre-existing $10k in your rollover IRA account to your roth IRA account and pay tax on that pre-existing $10k.

    • @chanhuang614
      @chanhuang614 7 місяців тому

      If you only want to move 50% of that pre-existing $10k to roth IRA (just because you don't want to pay tax for all $10k this year, then you can only move 50% of the $6k (that is $3k) can be moved to roth IRA as a backdoor roth.

    • @chanhuang614
      @chanhuang614 7 місяців тому +1

      So as long as you don't have any preexisting saving in your rollover IRA account from any previous year savings, you are free and clear to do that $6k bacl door roth move.

      Yep, this is exactly right. You can’t convert only the non-deductible portion if you already have pre-tax contributions. Therefore, you’re going to get hit with taxes.

    With trading, technical analysis skills alone are not enough; discipline and emotional maturity are also crucial for success. The saying "time in the market vs. timing the market" is a good mindset to have during market fluctuations. Thanks to Elizabeth Foster’s insights, daily trade signals, and my dedication to learning, I've been increasing my earnings to over 19btc! in a few months. Keep it up!
