    I was sceptical about joining this initially as I wondered what an ordinary couple with less than 10,000 subscribers could teach me and thought it might be a bit of a shambles but you two are fantastically well informed and the materials you've put together are outstanding.
    I actually can't believe this is an entirely free offering, it's phenomenal what you are doing here.
    I know it's off topic for the first episode but I I read Alan's Wealthify review, in which I had just under £9500 invested and when I saw how high the fees were, learnt that they were actively managing the passive fund to the detriment of performance and that investments in bonds were a drag on my growth I set up a Vanguard Global World Cap index fun with fees less than a third of the cost, pure equity, no bonds and proper passive index investing. I suspect that over the next twenty years this decision will likely make me thousands of extra pounds so I can't thank you enough for that.
    Really looking forward to the next 9 weeks!

      @@rebeldonegans so I've set up a transfer of my Wealthify money to Vanguard, it's pending but says it will take 30 days. Bit disappointed to come out of the market for a few weeks but I feel it makes sense to do it now at the beginning of my journey and start properly. So I will have £10,000 in Vanguard once that has transferred and I've set a direct debit for £250 a month but I'm hoping to put another £100 to £200 a month extra in on top, as my finances allow.
      I'm hoping to hit £15,000 by April 2025 and then and hopefully pass £50,000 by April 2030 which I guess will be mostly me saving into for that period. Then I'm hoping the investment will start to help me by generating its own income and I can grow more rapidly. Does this sound feasible?

    Hmmm, I’ve just calculated that me and my family travelling from NZ to UK to see my parents/sister every year comes to $122,000 NZD (£66,000 ish) over 10 years if we were investing that money instead. That’s pretty shocking. I wish I had all this knowledge before I made the decision to move countries - emigrating is expensive

    Thank you for such a fun video and hello from New Zealand. I used a Kakeibo tracking book last year for 6 months, but I let that discipline slip. You've encouraged me to get straight back into it - writing down every expenditure daily. Because of doing those 6 months of tracking I now have a little bit invested in shares and $2000 on term deposit. A huge win from being in debt a year ago. I'm really looking forward to the rest of your course. Roll on the homework!😂

    how do i approach my husband to set up a joint account for our bills? i pay some direct debit bills and he pays the large dd bills. he earns more i earn smaller salary so we cant split the bills equally. i feel this is effecting my credit rating too as mortgage is in my name but the dd isn't coming out of our 'joint' account only his paid salary account? We have a 'joint account but just on kids stuff, petrol and food' any advice would be amazing.

      That is a great question and one that comes up consistently! If you watch the week one questions and answers we show you the details of the exact fund we invested in and how well it’s done.
      The fun we have invested in has gone out 13% year year since we started. It is absolutely achievable and you don’t have to do anything for other than put your money in and start.

      Some charities use your money efficiently, some don't. Difficult to tell sometimes. I think you should put the oxygen mask on yourself and then you can help more people later. For us we spend a lot of our own money putting on this course and helping people in our own way. We spent £12k last year running RFS and putting it on and giving it away but we helped over 5000 people improve their finances. It is an interesting debate. The key is to know that the money you use to do good actually does good !

    I think the comments about geared towards the middle class is characteristic of many UA-cam videos on wealth/investing/finance as an example the growth chart as people get older they earn more. I don’t agree as there is millions out there who are minimum wage and it never increases, with whatever age people are.
    I don’t think you are trying to do this at all and I get where you are coming from and trying to show that everyone can do it.
    There is never a chart for minimum wage through their timeline though, I’m still watching and find it educational myself, just don’t like to forget those who will never earn big bucks (even though it’s not like that here )

    • @rebeldonegans
      @rebeldonegans  Місяць тому +1

      Mark, thank you for your comment! For us what we think is important is not the earning potential of an individual but what they save and invest. There are plenty of examples out there of people who live on minimum wage and then can retire comfortably! We’re trying to help people see that they can retire comfortably.
      If you started investing early enough building a pot of £1 million is not actually that difficult.
      The problem is that no one really believes it.
      I genuinely believe that anyone can improve their finances and make progress and that’s what we’re trying to inspire people to do.

    • @markne5vt
      @markne5vt Місяць тому

      I’ve only seen the first of your videos, but I can see what you are trying to do.
