This video is fab!!! NDV is da man!! What an elegant, groovy and absolute star of a drummer he is!! And a top bloke!!! I was there for the whole BBT tour and especially the Halifax gig was pretty magic and of course the final outburst of energy at Hackney Empire was too!!! Keep those vids coming!!
Nick buddy..you are living the dream my friend...I appreciate all the product videos you do. I appreciate your talent. You help make the drumming community better
Even though i cannot currently play due to health reasons, is beautiful to say (whenever i played live) and to hear how polite and considered we drummers are, i mean, the former statement involves every single instrument player or person, but in regards to the instrument i love, it is wonderful to see that the people who still carry the torch on the big and small stages still show apreciation for everyone who helps, plus everyone whos work still in the back of what we do. Thankful for all the content Nicholas D' posts; great musician, even better person.
Nicks got a hell of a gig. What a opportunity. Awesome job with sweetwater. That’d be a job i’d wake up every morning for and feel accomplished. Selling and showcasing gear to musicians whole heatedly done the right way.
Loved that he changed brands (last time was Meinl + Sonor). I hope next time will be another brand combo :) (Tama + Istanbul Agop? Yamaha? Sabian?). It’s always a good showcase for the brands.
What a dream job. Thanks for always being objective Nick. You have a dream job but you can still deliver the chops....and be a farmer in your spare time. Kudos bro and God Bless from F1J1😎👍
What can I say? Nick I always enjoy your videos.Been a Sweetwater customer for years! The Ludwig kit is beautiful,I already watched Brent's video of the building of the stealth rack.Never been a fan of drumracks until I seen the finished product.Looks like I'm going to start building my Stealthrack soon.Keep up the good work &as always thanks Nick& Sweetwater 🤘
Great video! Nick you are one of my all time favorite drummers and singers!!!

NDV is my absolute favourite drummer of today!!! Top dude!!! And Big Big Train are hands down my favourite band!! For all you music lovers in northern America, check out the band's web site and have a look at the gig dates for their first ever visit to the US and Canada!!! Two dates confirmed by the band so far but there will be more coming up shortly!! www.bigbigtrain.com/
@@james10890 Personally I don't know. Only difference I can discern is that my version is from 2012, three years before it was included in the product line. I got mine at PASIC in Austin, and there were several Organic Ride prototypes. Some were more lively than others. I picked one that had plenty of stick but had a touch more spread to it. That bell though really cuts through. No problems being heard over loud guitar amps. My only thing about the Organic is that it's more for medium to louder rock in larger venues verses softer low volume jazz or church in smaller venues. Since I now play more small venue shows, it doesn't get much use, though I did use it last month for a fill-in rock gig.
"A really sweet-lookin' Gibraltar stealth rack that I haven't even seen yet." Damn...that IS stealthy! Now to the big question: who feeds the animals while you're on tour? PLEASE TELL ME YOU LINED SOMEONE UP FOR THAT.
Excellent, Nick! I would be interested in how you use the Mac Book and some of the things you do to integrate electronics into the kit and playing live? Oh, and I use smaller sticks these days!😀
jmetz My Tama Starclassic Maple is also 10”,13”,16” with a 24x16 bass drum. I don’t need any more toms as these provide a great dynamic range, much more so than the popular 10,12,16 combination!
@@davidwinthrop7077 ...understood! I'm not opposed to the 10,12, 16 really, but, ... 10, 13, 16 makes so much sense! Now if they just made a 19" floor tom! :)
Great video, love seeing stuff like this. I’d just like to know what Big Big Train songs were used in this video, I am starting to get into their music as of recently. Also, I’d love to see Sweetwater make some videos on the Gretsch Renown (since it has a new finish this year and there hasn’t been a video of the RN2 yet) and some of the Full Range series snare drums, the new bass drum pedals from Pearl (Redline and Solo Eliminators) and Gibraltar, and maybe even a video on how to order a custom drum set through Sweetwater (like a Pearl Music City Custom, Gretsch USA Custom, DW Collectors or SJC, I know Nick did the video on the Music City kit for Snow Live but I’d love to see a video on how to get a custom kit through Sweetwater). And big shoutout to my sales rep Josh Strid for always being a great help, and to the people in pro audio who helped my dad out last week when he called about something for a Bluetooth adapter for a speaker system and made his first official Sweetwater purchase. You guys are the best!!
Nick!! Are those blue drums in your home studio the Mapex Saturn Silver Badge Blue Galaxy Fade kit that I sold a few years ago and am still kicking myself for? Great rig rundown!
Love your work and have been a fan for many years, Nick. I was wondering - do you not have specific endorsements anymore? Always saw you as a Mapex & Meinl guy. Does the gig at Sweetwater give you the power to go wherever you choose? Hope you make it down under sometime! Thank you!
Clicked on the video to check out this awesome drummer’s kit. Randomly in the video just a hard left turn: I have a record collection” *nick proceeding to start digging though a box and showing off record’s. Me: NO WHAT ABOUT THE DRUMS!?!?!

Great gear choices.

BBT is a refreshing breath of music... totally worth listening to their entire catalog!
Word!!!
Just watched Kevin Gilbert & Giraffe - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway Live at Progfest 1994. Absolutely amazing drumming Nick. Hats off.
I’m watching this with a tear in my eye. 😢 I miss BBT
Big Big Train nowadays really is a magnificent Big Big prog rock act, with some of the best American, English and Swedish musicians!!
I can’t gig without my Porter and Davies throne anymore. I can’t even begin to describe the “emptiness” without it.
Second that brother. Can’t play without it!
Get a grip buddy
Nicks got a hell of a gig. What a opportunity. Awesome job with sweetwater. That’d be a job i’d wake up every morning for and feel accomplished. Selling and showcasing gear to musicians whole heatedly done the right way.
NDV literally does it all..from Spocks Beard to BBT to Sweetwater demos...Man does it all!
Nick you are by far the best reviewer, no attitude player around.
David longdon (rip) was a teacher at my college between 97-99, great bloke, awesome singer.
Loved that he changed brands (last time was Meinl + Sonor). I hope next time will be another brand combo :) (Tama + Istanbul Agop? Yamaha? Sabian?). It’s always a good showcase for the brands.
I didn't knew he played on a band, no wonder why he plays so good, but only better he is a great human being, im glad to see him doing great as always
You need to checkout Spocks Beard. He sings like an angel while drumming some complex shit.
Great video, up and close.
Good of Nick and sweetwater to show viewers his live tour set up!!!
Did you get a bag of candy with that kit? Lol! Love you nick!
Wishing you all the best on your tour Nick!.................Cheers!
Love that Mapex Saturn III Silver Badge Kit at your place!
What a dream job. Thanks for always being objective Nick. You have a dream job but you can still deliver the chops....and be a farmer in your spare time. Kudos bro and God Bless from F1J1😎👍
Nick and Company. Pro All the way .
As a drummer, and NDV and BBT fan...this is brilliant! Bring the band to the Boston, MA area, please!
I like the fact that Nick had affordable gear on this tour.
You are still inspiring me to go back drumming.
Incredible video! Thanks for taking us on this ride with a consummate pro and an amazing singer.
Nick D. has to be the only drummer who’s sponsored by all major drum brands. It’s crazy.
Nick is my favorite drummer !! Been for many many years : ) D'Virgilio, Portnoy & Bonham \m/

I must have missed this! All the animals made it on there! I love it! My husband, the animal lover. 💙
Absolutely fantastic video. Nick D. in Sweetwater vids is always a treat.

Good luck Nick and enjoy the drumset. You make a great choice.
Gorgeous kit. Fabulous music. ❤️❤️🥁
Thanks for sharing this video. your kit looks awesome. I use silver sparkle ludwigs at my church. Great sound. Have fun out there
Beautiful drum set
Excellent photography of the venue. That rack is amazing, I expect all brands to go there very soon.
1:03 Nice food interval between the horses. 😉
(Amazing video, guys)
Love these videos, keep them coming. Plus, Nick seems like such a nice guy.
I’ve got the 21 in K Custom Organic Ride, I love the bell on it! Enjoy yours Nick!
I've got the prototype version signed by Pat Petrillo who designed it with Zildjian.
TXMusicDrummer that’s so awesome! How much does it differ from the final version?

Lucky duck!
Right on dude , killer kit , thanks for sharing
That trifecta is friggin sick 😎🤘😍
You are awesome nick congratulations
What a class act.
Drums sound great...then again you could play buckets and garbage cans and make it sound good. All the best!
Love your videos, Nick! Thank you! You rock!💖💖💖
"A really sweet-lookin' Gibraltar stealth rack that I haven't even seen yet."
Damn...that IS stealthy!

Oh yeah....shit... the animals

Great vid!! Beautiful kit!!!
7x10, not 8x10, yes? 10-13 is a great rack combo, especially going down to a 16 with 3" intervals between them! It's what I use. Great video, thanks!

jmetz Yeh, a 19”!That does make sense.
Awesome drum!!!
Please do a video with POWER TOMS!! show some love for BIG Drums. Seriously, people still play them, and buy them :)

Two pieces from the "Grand Tour" album: "Alive" (beginning and end of the video) and "Pantheon" (middle).
Sorry about the stupid virus. If you make it down to Tampa, I'll come out and see you.
MABEL ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 2:32

Me: NO WHAT ABOUT THE DRUMS!?!?!
Great post Nick thx A+
If you haven't already heard the band Big Big Train, check it out, specially if you like classic prog rock
What kind of practice pad is on the snare, during this video? Id realy appreciate any help here. =)
hey nick! Very cool setup! Very inspiring. What cymbals and heads do you have in this kit?
just kidding I found it lol....how come the cluster 18 in ch instead of the 18 inch sweet crash?
Are those mini lugs?
I want to get into Big Big Train. Where do I start?
NDV = The man
What are the hi-hats?
And you’re an animal lover too! 💕💕💕
What high hats?
Any reason for the traditional Tom mounts and not vibra band?
holy smokes, farmer d'virgilio....
What, no cowbell?

What kind of drumsticks?
Zildjian 5A Chroma in silver

ua-cam.com/video/esEmrZbPYas/v-deo.html
Zildjian merged with Vic Firth with Daddario buying Pro Mark... who's next?
Shoulda used Paiste cymbals.....
Sexy, oh the drums are nice as well.
that first splash isn't 10"
“South England” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well, it ain’t North England or West England or midlands England or East England. It is down south......
it's always product placement.
disappointing
How does this make any money? With all respect. Who knows that band and who pays for the whole thing? This is beyond me.
Can someone in this company be reasonable to send me a functional piano and not a defective piano am tired of this game.
