  • What type of duty bag is best for your application? As an avid user of big rectangular duty bags bags...and even a cardboard box for awhile...I have to admit that there are advantages to other styles. we have looked at the 221b "Hondo" before, a duty bag styled more like a briefcase, today we look at the "Harlej" a set back organizer style bag designed to make paperwork more accessible.

Had an Uncle Mikes seat organizer for 20 some years? Wore that sucker out! Clip board, binoculars, ticket books, yellow safety vest, Hatch traffic gloves, etc, etc, . Everything was close to hand and in reach, also when it’s not safe to open drivers door on a highway, open the passenger door, there it was, easy peasy! Never wasted time looking for stuff, could tell someone else front seat, back-side- whatever pouch. They could find it also without tearing a car apart looking for a Tow In report. Made my life easy. Bag also survived a couple wrecks. Stuff stayed in one spot, not flying around my work space.

I used a (Blackhawk I think) clam shell style bag. It wasn't meant for that, if I remember correctly, but I made it work. I secured it to the seat via the seat belt. It was the mid/late 2000s so way before there were many quality missiin specific bags.
I ran a Guardian light on my K9s harness when we were working the Superdome in New Orleans at night (after I left law enforcement and went into K9 contracting).

I never carried anything but a ticket book, flashlight, and my night stick. That was all I ever needed. Except a shotgun. I can't imagine all that stuff. Now Retired. But stay safe, best of luck brother!

If you are pulling traffic, relying on that cup holder part of the bag would be great for pursuits. The fact that bottles and cups and mugs often fly out of the cupholder in pursuits often gets overlooked

I've not yet looked to see if you have a video on this; however, I'd love to have a video on maintaining good sleep, switching having to switch between day and night shifts during a work week.

I have the hondo patrol bag I live is versatility the 2 things I do not like about it, is the inner pockets, the fabric is very thin and flimsy, and rips or tears easily if you have hard, rough items in it, also no water bottle holder. I like that this seat bag has the water bottle holder, but it appears it is made similar to the hondo patrol bag, maybe to upgrade the could add a firmer fabric or vinyl to make it firm.

Hi there! Kind of an unrelated question: being a SWAT officer from Illinois, have you ever had a callout where the Illinois State Police's Full-Time SWAT team was involved? Can you tell me what the experience may have been like? Or if you've at least heard about them and what their members are like?

I know this isn't relevant to the video at hand, but I was curious about if you've heard of the "Safe-T" Act set to go into effect in Illinois at the beginning of the coming year, and what your thoughts on it are if you have.

I have one and highly recommend. Lid locks, seals tightly, controlled pours, seals and parts are replaceable. Also, because of the contoured shape I haven't found a cup holder that it won't fit in.

I did 37 years metro patrol division, and youngsters peace officers carry way too much trash. I leave my cell in my locker, I was trained to be a man & handle myself like a warrior.

Most of it is required to carry. Most of the time they don’t have a choice. A lot of it is due to the prior generations being of accused of certain “style” of policing.

Clearly, you aren’t able to request signal 78 “Officer requesting assistance” every time you sit down to pee? Protect & serve with confidence in your abilities as a peace officer, this is what you get paid to do. Otherwise get a room with your lover, that needs to be held, even though he’s wearing a girdle under all that contemporary Robocop rhetoric.

You must have a very underfunded police department. Pens and paper are so 10 years ago, looks like your department is stuck in the 90s. We’re all iPads , laptops. Literally totally digital. I honestly don’t think I can even use a pen anymore 😂😂😂
