    Less is more. When you're a rookie you will carry everything. Over time youll know what youll need

    Best video yet. Keep it up. Cool to see we all carry the same stuff for the same reasons.

      Yeah, mine is pretty slimmer down, but it’s the essentials. I forgot to mention a roll of extra paper for printer.

    Less is always more but core staples
    : forms, pens, cards, a bottle of water & snacks (never know when you’ll be stuck on something for an extended period). Also a small bottle of bug spray and sunscreen

      My lunch box used to be stacked! Also, I should always drink more water, but working afternoons you always gotta find a spot to pee lol. Great call on bug spray for the overnight guys. I used to carry that and Benadryl spray for bug bites when working nights. Forgot to mention.

    I also got a Flipper for RFID-tags. I keep tags to public housings, gates and what not on it. Absolutely amazing piece of kit besides just being fun if you're into security stuff.

      I really enjoy mine. But I’m still very novice with it.

    I'm in my 2nd decade of policing. My bag is simple. It's an LLBean canvas messenger bag I got as a college graduation gift. It carries just enough of my admin patrol stuff. I had the big 5.11 style for years, though. As you said, experience teaches you what's needed and what's not.

    • @SoileaterYT

      Totally. And now with everything going digital it makes it a lot less.

    I’ve added zip-ties to my bag. Worked multiple MVC’s and used zip-ties to put pieces of the vehicle back on to get it out of the road. Also, stickers or lollipops for kids that get 911 called on them for playing in someone’s yard. 🙄

    I get “less is more”, but these aren’t bags we’re carrying around. It’s sitting in a car.

    -2nd pair of cuffs
    -2nd cuff key

    -Mini HAZMAT emergency response guidebook (maybe not necessary for most, but my department has firefighting responsibilities)
    Nav & Comms
    -Garmin GPS watch with maps
    -Map of the city (good for field training)
    -Spare radio battery
    -Whistle, chem lights
    Medical
    -Gloves
    -Fanny pack IFAK
    -P100 mask (probably not necessary for most, my department are all medics)

    I never got patrol bags until I learned some people share vehicles? Every department near me has take home vehicles. I keep folding crates in case I need to empty it and that’s it

    • @SoileaterYT
      @SoileaterYT  6 місяців тому

      Yeah pool vehicles where I am at unfortunately. Take homes would be better on so many levels.

    • @Jacob-oq3uv
      @Jacob-oq3uv 6 місяців тому +1

      @@SoileaterYT FDLE (Florida Department of law enforcement) did a study showing that take home cars were actually cost effective and led to the vehicle being maintained better. Along with the added presence when driving to/from work and just parked in neighborhoods.
      They also are a great Officer benefit. Most officers I know would leave if they didn’t get a take home, they’d be willing to take a pay cut for a takehome. It saves us so much money on gas, tolls, maintenance etc as an officer vs us paying for it all on our POV’s

      @@Jacob-oq3uv say it louder so my admin can hear it! Haha. We have been trying for years. And will continue to try 😂🤣

    Extra batteries, pens, hand sanitizer, gloves and a good headlamp helps when searching vehicles. Will be adding baby wipes!

      I’m no longer on patrol, but when I was it’s a poop vehicle so you switch daily, always a different vehicle basically.

    You can’t say that lol don’t admit to writing a ticket based on someone’s attitude. Retaliation is illegal.

    • @SoileaterYT
      @SoileaterYT  3 місяці тому

      Tickets are written based on observed vehicle and traffic law violations. Not sure what you are getting at. LE also have discretion. Hope that helps.
