Use Brother MyConnection to Send Applique Embroidery Files to the ScanNCut from the Luminaire

- In this video, we'll use Brother's MyConnection to send applique files to the Brother ScanNCut SDX325 or 330D to pre-cut the applique directly from the Brother Luminaire! No additional software or Brother Canvas needed!

Well I learned something today…(again! ) the SnC cuts shapes in the order as they are loaded. No wonder our SnC seems to jump all over the mat while cutting. Too funny… too simple! Love this… thanks Becky!
Are you saying, I dont need my scissors in this process of a closed loop communication between the scan Ncut>Luminaire/Stellaire>then back to scanNcut? Is it possible to do one video with Embrillance sketch artist 2, then one WITHOUT embrillance (send wirelessly/usb) so that this entire process is seen in all it stages? Its nearly impossible to get anyone do this entire process where we see the initial cut by the scan and cut> then the file is sent to stellaire/luminaire for the applique process, then ACTUALLY see the scan Ncut, cut out the applique. I have a question about the stitch width that I cannot articulate. I just wonder if that stitch need more allowance so the thread is not cut. I dont know if that makes sense. I cant find not one video that shows this entire process. Most of it is just left to our imagination, or chopped over several videos where it is challenging to put the entire process together. Thank you. Many of your video have really helped me to understand my DX325 that I just purchased a few months ago. Thank you for your great tutorials. I do patches, and to see this entire process would help me so much

Watched a video a for sulky and they used sticky back stabilizer scrap pieces instead of tape to hold applique pieces down .so easy to remove if you stitch over it. Easier than removing tape. Just tear away stabilizer. Tried it and worked even to hold pieces on back of hoop.

Hi great video, do you have another that shows how you take the pieces that you cut out back to the Luminarie and aligned them for appliqué stitch out? That’s the part I am struggling with.
You will stitch the placement line in the design and then iron that cut piece in the space. 😊

Not yet that I have seen. Maybe they will do that since the 10-needle has Design Center in it too. Wouldn't that be nice?

Hi Becky, what embroidery thread do you recommend. I have a hod podge of different brands. I watched one of your videos ( I don't remember when it was) that you were selling some of your thread and going to something else. I can't find the video. I have learned so much from you.
I prefer DIME's Exquisite thread or Isacord. I love all your videos. I am wanting to purchase the scan in cut. I have the brother nx1700e. I know we can't do that from my machine. So if I want to do that I need a program to set my design then send t scan and cut?
Yes, Embrilliance Essentials can be used to create svg files out of the placement lines in an applique design on your computer. You save those svgs to a USB and then take the USB to the SNC to make your cut out shapes. :) Here's a video of how to do it:ua-cam.com/video/QsjNYng7qS8/v-deo.html

Did you put steam a seam on fabric or some kind of iron on on owls.
Yes, I used HeatNBond lite on the owl fabrics.

Yes, unfortunately my camera audio developed a crackle. Drives me nuts. I've purchased an external microphone and it seems to have solved the problem, but there's nothing I can do for videos that were done without it. I'm so sorry! Next ones will not have this problem.
What do you do when your mat is anymore sricky. I have ptoblem when I cut fabrick?
Try cleaning it with Cottonelle wipes a LA Totally Awesome from the Dollar Store.

Thank you for another GREAT video. I’ve been thinking about upgrading my Scan n Cut, from the 225. I hardly ever used it, but with technology I’m really tempted. That’s all due to your great videos. What is the main difference between the 325 & the 330D, the Disney designs? Thanks Becky.
I'm pretty sure the addition of Disney is the only difference between the 330D and the 325. I haven't been able to find a comparison chart yet to be sure however.

I don't think so. As far as I know, the MyConnection feature is only available on the Luminaire...for now.
How do you get the 16 digit certification? to connect the scan & cut with Luminaire?
Will this work with the 1055x?

I'm not sure if the MyConnection feature is available on the Solaris. You might see if where the upgrade kits are listed on the Settings page, if My Connection is listed there.

You did not make the appliqué pieces a bit larger (1.3 mm)?
They fit fine with the 1.0 inflate in Embrilliance.
@@PowerToolsWithThread Becky - I am struggling with tacking down the applique!! When the piece fits in there exactly the tackdown stitch just travels around it and is not catching. I went back to Embrilliance and changed my size from 100% to 101.0% and it didn't help. What am I doing wrong??? I hope you see this question. I also hope I get to see you later this week at the AllBrands booth at the Houston Quilt Festival on Friday, Nov 3, 2023. Thank you for all your videos!

Yes! Any version of the XP machines will work, but you have to enable the My Connection feature. And you have to have the SNC SDX 325 or 330D.

My Connection can be enabled on any of the Luminaire XP models. And yes, we have USBs in lots of colors now.
Might be nice for you but us suckers in the Uk have no chance to get these scan n cuts ,we still are at sdx220.........unless we go to the us and bring it back without a guarantee on it we are stuffed!

Can’t do that here in the UK because Brother doesn’t allow us to have the machine to do this. Brother has let the UK Luminaire owners down. It’s really not fare at all. 🤬🤬🤬
