I found you when looking for a beginner's guide to using the Laserpecker. I've just bought the basic model, mainly to do keyrings, but I don't understand how to re-size my text to get it to fit on to the keyring blank, and how to add my own clip art images on to it. There are no tutorials anywhere that I can find, unless you can recommend one?
For resizing, just put your finger on the silver circle (bottom right of the text box) and drag it. Not sure what you mean about how to put your clip art on as you should be able to put anything on that you have on your phone? I just played with it to work things out as I couldn't find an in depth tutorial, sorry
Not very deep. I only use it at 80% power though. You can feel it if you run your finger over the engraving. If you want it deeper, you can set it up to do more than one pass, also, pop it onto full power.
I love my laserpecker. Use it all the time at flea markets.

Will this unit work on a Desktop computer? I don't have a smartphone.
I love my laser pecker but the one thing I wish was easier is confirming the etching comes out straight.

How does it fair on hardwoods like oak just been gifted some solid oak flooring planed and sanded up
It's fine on any wood to be honest. If it doesn't do it enough for you on one pass, run it again. A lot of this is about trial and error TBH
