It's amazing isn't it? I love the solo, and the unison bend sounds epic! Im 24 and I feel like Pink Floyd got it right if I'm listening to something thats 47 years old. Jeez, even saying that sounds heavy!😅
Carl, you're fantastic. Best on UA-cam. Incidentally, have you seen this? It is life changing. This song on an acoustic, by a kid, the melody , percussion, everything
Thanks Carl for this lesson. I would have problems every once in a while & what I found was, unless I clipped my nails on my left hand, I wasn't able to play regular chords right. Something as simple as this was causing me a lot of problems. Funny I think but glad I figured it out.
Yes that is very true. I learned that lesson in a beginner video when I started playing and it works for me. So ever since then right next to my guitars are a pair of nail clippers. It is amazing how little things like that matter a lot.

Hi Carl, your channel is the best and all your Pink FLoyd lessons are especially helpful to understand their music. But there is one lesson more i would love to see from you: Dogs from the Animals album - could you show us how it's done?
damn Carl, I'm suppose to go to the store but how can I now? Well, I've been reminded I guess but in the words of Arnold, "I'll be back". As usual, great job & choice of songs. Anytime you can learn some Pink Floyd it's been a great day.
@ 8.00 i think you may have missed the turn round chord. I haven't listened to the song in a while and it may be something that the backing vocals do instead of the guitar part but when he goes to the E Maj chord he plays it for 2 bars and then adds a D and an F# on the top D and E strings for 2 bars ( a sort of D over E chord). This provides a more seamless transition back into the F#m chord of the verse. Certainly the vocals hit those 2 notes.
What? "on the top D & E strings? There's only one D string my friend. Just Google the chord you're trying to explain & write it? Even still, this is unintelligible.
@@JeighNeither You post a reply to a comment I made 4 years ago telling me I'm talking rubbish? I'm 65 and can't remember what I did yesterday. If I said it then it was right. Don't waste my time.
@@JeighNeither You're responding to a typo! It should read "the top B & E strings". That's pretty obvious so your sarcasm was not necessary. Anyway, try it, if you know where E Major is!
Can you do the unforgiven 2? :) I've been wanting to learn for so long and there aren't any decent guitar lessons for it out there and the tabs I've seen aren't so good either lol. But I know if you do it you'll do a great job with it, and I'd really like if you did!
Thanks for the great lesson, I'm playing most of the song right now, still working on it. Please do a lesson on sorrow, please please I know you can do it. Do you have a band? Would be cool to watch you jamming.
Are you deliberately shuffling the rhythm in the start. The tune is in a funky even 16 note feel but you are definitely shuffling the rhythm. It actually sounds cool....like a stylized version.

Ok this might be a stupid question. But at the very start when you start doing the chords you say it’s kind of a spotty playing when you strum. Please can someone tell me how to strum like that? My guitar is in tune but I don’t know how to strum to make that sound please can someone maybe even advise me on a video or where I can learn that technique of strumming I know it looks easy but I can’t figure out how to make that kind of cut off funky sound strumming and I reeeeeeeaaally want to learn it.
And Gilmour was singing through all this. What a legend
Well if you think that's crazy look at James Hetfeild and Dave Mustaine lol. No doubt he's a legend though

Your intro on this is inspired. I felt like I was listening to a prodigy breathe new life into an old classic during a recital. A+ for artistry.
By far the best guitar lessons that I’ve come across Carl. You’re the man.
This channel has by far, the BEST guitar lessons on UA-cam. Thanks!
Thanks for teaching the the chords and the lead to this song. :) Makes me want to cry knowing I can play it now xD
You're an incredible teacher.

My opinion the rythm parts in time are harder to get down than the solo. So many little naunces.
agreed
Hi Carl,
I was just wondering if you could consider doing a tutorial for have a cigar by pink Floyd since I really need to learn the solo for it
