    Nice lift. Good video. Don't see many people running the old dead dinosaur oil anymore these days!!!

      I would rather run conventional and change it more often since I do it myself. Just not convinced synthetic is worth the cost difference personally. If I was paying labor for someone else to do it then I might try synthetic, if I get a new 24 I might but I been running this oil since the first service.

    Hey Man Mountain Mike, have you considered installing a oil filter relocation kit on your bike? It makes changing oil much easier and less messy. It also helps to cool down the oil temperature. I run one on my RK and love it.

    I tried to do this on my road king. Got all the funnels and drain pans ready to roll, cleared my saturday so I would have plenty of time to baby-step through it (I've never been the type to do my own vehicle maintenance, but want to change that).
    I got everything set up, and got down under the bike and found that whoever had done the last oil change on it (before I bought it), apparently had the forearm strength of 19 gorillas. They had wrenched the drain plug down so tight, I could not get it to budge, my impact driver could not get it to budge, I borrowed a breaker bar from a neighbor and I still could not get it to budge.
    I took it to my local dealer, and had them do it. No idea what they had to do to loosen that thing.

      @@claytongibson2474 that is very concerning, I would ask the dealer and be concerned someone used something like JB weld because normally it would strip if you over tighten it. I wonder is previous owner did something like that then used a pump to siphon the old oil out?

    Do you not recommend changing the oil after the bike is warmed up? Or while cooling off after a 5 minute ride?

    • @RidingintheOzarks
      @RidingintheOzarks  4 місяці тому

      I usually do change it while the oil is warm just so it drains faster but I personally don’t think it makes a huge difference otherwise
