I upload a new video every Wednesday!

Hey guys! In this week's video I test a friend's 2006 Yamaha MT-03. It is a 659CC single cylinder beast! The Yamaha MT-03 shares its engine with the Yamaha XT lineup as well as the Yamaha Raptor 660 Quad! You can compare it to a Yamaha MT-07 with a supermoto engine. It was my first time on a big thumper and I absolutely loved it! It feels unlike any other bike I've ever ridden!

Let me know where you're from and which bike you are riding.
Feedback would be appreciated!

Special thanks to Simon for letting me ride on his bike. - Авто та транспорт
I love it so much. I got my MT 03 660 5 months ago and It's so much fun. It's awesome because nobody knows this bike I get asked so frequently. I love the torque and the insane backfires. Just try giving it some gas up to like 4-5k rpm and then give it a quick yank at the throttle after it will backfire soo loud when the exhaust is hot. I love it so much.
I owned a 2010 mt03 and kept for a solid 10 years. I must say that it was one of the best bikes I had! 10 years with literally no problems AT ALL and run like the first day! Great engine great bike! I Regret for selling it.
I got one back in 2008 and kept it for 4 years. I wish I'd never sold it. Most fun bike I've ever ridden too.
I have a 2014 ( one of the Last 3 who was made in the Italy company says my Yamaha Dealer! )
I Sold actually
I have one of these - my first bike I bought when I got my A2! :) A lot of fun indeed. One of the few A2 bikes that can handle a passenger, but it's mostly for city and twisty country roads.
Hey i just sold my yamaha r6 looking for a
multifunctional bike to ride with gf and usr it more often as daily driver but stil habe fun. Can this bike handle passanger good for touring with gf long
@@devisnasir3902 It's good for short distances - say like 2 hour rideouts on twisty roads (avoid highways), but I suggest go for something else if you're looking for touring. My gf says its comfortable, but it doesn't have wind protection and is not meant for long distances since it's a single cylinder bike. Maybe try a tracer 700? They look cool, have a fun engine from mt07 and can handle two-up and touring
@@180FiftyFive Hi Christian, I'm getting my A2 license and was looking at a Yamaha mt-03, since you have had one before, how comes you suggest to avoid highways what's wrong with going on highways with this bike?
@@MrSarro99 If you are going to spend a lot of time on highway it's better to get a multi-cylinder bike. It's okay to go on highways, I mean if you commute daily on highway speeds better to try a twin instead. Less vibrations plus single cylinder engines are not really made for long distance. I have a Ninja 300 which is perfect for long trips - look also at the R3 or Ninja 400. Going 100km on highway is going to be noisy, and not pleasant if it's raining and windy and a bit chilly
I just bough one 3 months ago. I realised that here you comment that you have it, but in previous video that I was watching, there's also your comment saying that you sold it. well I think I'll never sell mein. Wish you best and hope you'll find something similiar someday ;)
Enjoyed watching the vid, great job. I also own a mt-03 from 2009 (with a full leovince exhaust) and this bike is crazy fun! Pops, bangs and flames all the time. the bike doesn’t give me the desire for a heavier bike at all, instead of some of my friends who can only think of more powerful bikes.
Redrum 😂
Angry Birds Chicken Audio @ 1:10 and 4:23 😄
. . . cool video, nice riding, extraordinary bike.
Thanks for sharing your fun with my 03. I love the bike too!
Still the most fun bike I've ever ridden!
Just bought it today excited to ride tomorrow
Cool review, if you can enjoy riding a bike and put that across, that’s all the viewer needs to know
2:48 blurs the speedometer, but says he is going 95 afterwards xD
I was bragging, I was only going 25 😅
and doesn't stop at a stop sign
The area you're in looks so nice and clean 😍
Thank you, I enjoy living here!
I have a Yamaha BT1100 Bulldog, but I really thinking about that I need a bike like this or an XT660 X 🧐Love the sound!
Those reactions to the backfires😂 I can relate hahah
The video doesn't do it justice!
He screamed like he took it in the bum
I'm thinking about swaping this 660 into my yzf r125, it's legal in my country and I just love the way my motorcycle looks. I don't think I could live with a worse looking bike.
You open the Air Box, Change the input from Air into the airbox and install the newest fuel Controller and it runs From 4000,5000,6000 and 7000rpm more faster then original!
bought this bike about 2 weeks ago on my learner licence. i agree with u bro, it almost rips the handlebars out of yor hands sometimes. And the backfires are awesome!
This bike is just a 100% fun package, love the video!
Just bough one myself and uploaded some video's about it, for those interested :)
Still the most fun bike I've ridden!
I used to own an szr660. I think that engine is q bit different. It was a 5 valve head and dry sump. Mt03 is still a cool kittle bike though
I keep imagining Borat talking excitedly
I have this bike. I'm enjoying every ride with this beast. Very good at city but in long distance, need some windshield
Definitely a beast of a bike!
I have this bike and its a monster. I ride it 6 days a week. I would like to know what kind of exhaust there is on the one. Its not the original, I can hear that. Like your vids man!
the logo looks like arrows
Buy the Mivv suono exhausts. They are by far the best looking and sounding. I have thoose on my MT03 660
A Leovince if I remember correctly.
now you know how my head feels behind a ride
Trust me, I know how it feels ;)
Hi,
Did you take off the bar of handle? Is this a Renthal crossbar?
Very beautiful bike. I have one! It's a funny bike!
I have no idea, the bike isn't mine. I borrowed it from a friend to make this video.
Acoustic noise or pressure should be measured 1m from source of noise.
Sometimes the speedometer went blurry maybe there is something wrong with the gopro.
That's weird, I wonder why that happend. 😅
@@LegendsGarage LOL. Japanese pixel bluring?
Hi!
I have the same bike, where did he bought that wind shield? it looks cool. :P
It's the Yamaha stock flyscreen specifically for the Mt03
Original one, i have it on mine too but, it is difficult to find just like the single seat
I was just watching because i maybe want to buy this bike. Then, suddenly, you drove past my house😭🤣 I didn’t even realise you were near my place
What a coincidence! Are you from Haasdonk?
@@LegendsGarage no, Beveren. near to the Pizzahut
What you think i am 1.90 m tall is this to small for me?
as a short rider off 660 bikes i can confirm this, i keep sliding back on my seat...
haha my Yamaha raptor 660 one cylinder is exactly the same as that. once my exhaust valves did get a little bit loose and It started shooting 20-30 cm flames out the exhaust.... my exhaust whool was totally burned out after 1 hours of riding with flames shooting out.
And right after I write this comment he says it is the same motor...
I'm looking into getting a Raptor 660 aswell!
@@LegendsGarage please buy a 700 instead. Maybe costing some more. But worth it.
I ended up buying a 660, the deal was too good to pass up.
@@LegendsGarage fair. What did you give for it? ;)
If you want a bike that pulls harder at high RPM, my ZX-6R lets the fun begin at 8k and makes me breathless at 13k
Noticed you live in Belgium, if you're up for a ride let me know (;
I won't say no to that! I test rode a GSXR600 so I imagine it being pretty similar.
please my friend can you help me find a windshield like that? i have the exact same model and i cannot find it ANYWHERE. Greetings from greece.!!
I'm pretty sure it's the stock windshield that comes with the mt-03.
nice bike...
Thank you.
If this bike has a very strong acceleration, how is it in comparison with a KTM 690 Duke (2008-2011 or later)?
I'm also curious about this one as I'm am considering both. Want to downsize for something more fun.
I have no experience with the Ktm 690 duke.
Hey my friend! I have a bike like this also and i want a windscreen like that like hell. I can't find it anywhere can you sell me one if you have or find?
I'm pretty sure it's the stock windshield that comes with the mt-03.
Is it fitting a2 license limits?
Yes
how you can don't push the gas handlie.....
Whats your exhaust?
On the MT-03? An exhaust by Leovince.
What size is the rear tier?
160/60
So this is the mt03 we should have got in 2022? Got mine with the green ri.s last october. 321?!?
Yes, sadly the 660cc engine is no longer being used.
I'd love a six mt03 over a mt07. The shape rocks. I love it.
How install fuel display?
It has a fuel light that comes on when you are low on gas from factory.
Im wondering about mt03 2017 model or 2020 model.. Its difference engines? Some here say old mt03 have more power? Does 2017 have it?
Let me introduce you to the wonderful world of the internet and the magic of Google :)
Does windshield help??
Not alot
With Vuj-Go Tuning it runs more more brutal!!!👍 From 4000 to 7800rpm more more faster then this! 👌💪💪
Can you say something about fuel consumption? I'm thinking about this bike :)
I'm not sure to be honest, The only experience i have with this bike is this 20-minute test ride.
i own one since one year, it's about 4.5L/100Km. you can do approximatly 230/250kms with a tank
@@flamby357that's pretty good. Was that with just regular riding or with a more sporty riding style?
@@nulla9601 it was with regular riding and sport riding in the country side/mountain roads.
Only if i drove aggressively in the city i could go up to 6.5-7L/100kms
@@nulla9601 i sold my MT two months ago after 4 years with it.
Such a fun bike, i already miss it
does it have 6 or 5 gears?
5 gears
it's a 5-speed.
Where is the yamaha yzf r125????
At home in my garage.
Whats the top speed of this bike?
170-180km/h
What about brakes ? No issues?
Brakes felt solid. Plenty of brake power for this amount of horsepower.
Can we ride this bike with A2 driving license??
yes
48HP (33kW for this bike), there should be no problem.
I own this bike, the 2010 model that I own can't be ridden with a2. This is an official reaponse from the Government. I don't know if there are any differences with previous year's models.
@@user-ej6og4sw8n The 2006 and some 2007 model can be ridden with A2, since they have 33.4kw. 2008 onwards are 35.3Kw so they can't be driven with A2
@@alessandromarino1874are they really gonna make a big deal out of 0.3kW?
Peru ?
Belgium
5:11 uuuh...nooo? If anything it's the opposite. Are you crazy? It's not even true r125, below 7000 rpm it has exactly 0hp
Interesting how the older MT-03 models are 660cc
A very interesting bike indeed, and a blast to ride!
That's the 2020 model with 321cc. Is this an older model?
This is an 2008 ish model. My MT03 660 is atleast an 2008.
It's the 2006-2014 model.
You can see why they stopped making it, who would buy the MT07?
Thats 48 hp the mt07 is 73hp the new mt03 have about the same hp but not as much torque.. I do know a 660 raptor is a beast so if that's the same motor I would choose over new mt03 but not mt07..
When we are talking about A2 motorcycles I would totally buy the old MT03 over the MT07. I test rode both the MT03 and MT07 and I had way more fun on the MT-03.
@@LegendsGarage the mt03 with the raptor engine correct? I would choose that over the new mt03 as well but theres something I love about that little mt07 I live in the states so we never got the 660cc mt03 and the new mt03 that we just received is a naked r3 lol so il take the cp2 mt07 sounds like a harley on a naked sport bike lol
waar woon je?
Oost-Vlaanderen
single cylinder gang
i just did a new upgade to the mt03 yesterday
👊🔥
It's not a stock engine though
Nope🙃
Is it stock also single cylinder?
@@thijsdewilde487 yes
The new mt03 has a 320cc engine but the older ones had a 660cc
It is the stock engine. The old MT-03 came with a 660CC single-cylinder engine from the factory.
sounded like a wet fart
Believe me it doesn’t not pull harder than an mt07 🤣
It pull harder!! The Mt 07 Is a shit Bike
13 minutes of pure bullshit. Noone talks about the price..sad..
