I'm 83 and found tai chi about 10 yrs ago . I had a stroke in oct 2000 so balance is off . When I started I had to use a chair in about 4 mo no longer needed chair . It was absolutely awesome for balance did for 2 yrs but lady moved and haven't found one again. So glad I found this program. My balance is off again bad so going to start today . The other benefit is I went from 3 blood pressure meds down to 80 milligrams of one that was 320 milligrams awesome

I like the progression of your movement from neutral stance to stepping to the side. As a long time practitioner of True Taichi and a senior citizen, I very much appreciate spreading the word of the Taichi's benefits. I, for one, feel 20 years younger and attribute that to this art. The secret, I discovered, is having the body stay at the same height as the level of the neutral stance irrespective of the movement. Thus the body learns how to be rooted with heaviness on the bottom and lightness on top - an expression of yin and yang.

I just love this and cannot believe how in one week I have begun to improve my inner balance quite substantially . I did Tai Chi years ago and was really shocked when I began this recently to see how much you lose as you age even if your really active it seems its a common change, but really rapt to see how quickly it begins to reverse if you just do a bit every day . Thanks so much, really love it.

Florence stand a while then sit after. You can practice seated as well. Taichi is so much more than movement. Maybe my seated TaiChi video would assist you as well at my UA-cam- Yourtaichiguy

I like this little workout. It's a great intro for people who would perhaps be intimidated by tai chi terms like Dantiem. I really liked it. I don't know what "playing the harp" was, I know it wasn't "playing the pipa" because the arms and hands are in the wrong place, but otherwise, this is a good introduction. If you want to learn more, I suggest also looking for Chris Pei's videos which are wonderful. He's very patient, like this lady. Adding this one to my play list.

It's about teacher & student travelling in the same direction. Students wouldn't see all the movements if she had her back to them. It's a well-known teaching technique in Aerobic classes.

She can’t tell left from right ... unless the video is reversed

    • @robyncheng6396

In dance or exercise if the instructor is facing you, she/he should move so you can follow the same direction. So if she/he wants you to move right, she/he moves left and calls right so you can copy and follow the same directions. Get it??
