Thank you. I am a 70 year old Navy/Marine Corps veteran who has studied Tai Chi with the VA Instructor for 5 years. She recently left for another job at another VA so we have no instructor at the time. I offered to lead a group based on my knowlege but they declined. I really appreciate this video you have provided. Thank you. Namaste

I'm working my way out of heart failure and my doctor recommended Tai chi. I am just starting with the fundamentals. About half way through I had to stop. But! Tomorrow is another day and I am going to keep practicing every day until I can move on to the next step! I am so grateful for the blessing you have to be able to teach these classes. I am looking forward to mastering each class and healing my heart as well. Thank you so much!

You two are lovely to watch together. I like how Veronica is doing the more basic modification. I like that this is not annoyingly flirtatious like other couples who post movement/exercise videos. Good Lighting, good audio. Please show us more. Looking forward to more of these. Love from Western Canada.

I was lost and wanted to learn Tai Chi a year and a half ago and could not find a teacher so I found the Hoovers and they inspired me. I since then have two wonderful teachers, Linda and Jane. Linda Yang and Jane practices Dong. I am on the last part of the 108 form of Dong. But love the simplicity you instilled in me. Thank you, Daniel and Veronika.

Out of all the Tai Chi videos on Youtbue I find yours to be the most comprehensive. I will be using your videos to help me to practices form.
    Thanks.

What an outstanding introduction to Tai Chi - warm and welcoming and reassuring and clear. I'm 71 - and over the course of my life, I dabbled in several martial arts. More than once I tried to learn Tai Chi Chuan and -- frankly, soon gave up. I found it too cognitively challenging - couldn't seem to remember the movements from the time I left class to arriving home. A couple of years back, I began to practice Shaolin QiGong and Standing (Zhan Zhuang) at home. A year or so ago, I then joined a new seniors' class offering Tai Chi and health QiGong. I learned the Yang 10! Unfortunately, I no longer have reliable transportation, and so the discovery of your online training is a joy to me. Abundant thanks to you both, and to CSU Long Beach for the gift of this program.

I haven't practiced Tai Chi in over 25 years. In these trying times, I cannot go to my Reiki or Craniosacral practitioner, so in coming back to Tai Chi, I am looking to find balance , reduce pain and anxiety, and hopefully find center again. Your videos are very simple to follow. Thank you for breaking down each movement in the sequence.

Thank you Stephanie. I appreciate you noticing and commenting on the context. It's something I pay a lot of attention to. It's great to hear how you are using this to help with posture correction. We use medical Tai Chi at SOHMA with patients to help with their posture as well. Did you know medical Tai Chi has recently become covered by most medical insurance under physical therapy benefits. We've been having a lot of fun developing and refining medical Tai Chi programs.

I, like other speakers here, have looked at many other videos and am so pleased I have found this one. Really enjoyed it. I'm just recovering from back injury. I was nervous it would be too harsh on my back but it wasnt at all. I was completely lost at the end but thoroughly enjoyed it and will continue.

Thank you Daniel and Victoria! It is so helpful to see regular and modified forms. I'm a short woman so the modified is really helpful for starting out. I also like the martial art defense part too. I'm 7l, feel 40, still flexible but not pleased my body is getting weaker, even though I go for walks 4 days/wk. exercise 3 x/wk. and lift weights - only up to 5 lbs. so far.
I need to concentrate on improving my balance to avoid falls and keep my health up. This is gentle enough to do 5 - 7 x/wk.
Your excellent instruction is a "gift"! Thank you so much for sharing your expertise!

Thank you for this. I am at present practicing Qi Gong with Lee Holden who also practices Tai Chi. He kindly does mirror image so it's easier to follow. I have practiced all the movements you demonstrate in my Qi Gong class accept not how to use the movements in combat. My only problem is I'm getting left and right muddled! and end up on the opposite side to where I'm supposed to be. Nevertheless, I find it enlightening learning how the movements hang together in one flow

If it isn't too long after these 2016 'instructive' vids to subscribe, thank and 'start' ... thank you very much! Especially, your instruction about what the 'walking' is before involving the hands and arms has been very helpful for me. PS. I am a 'horseback riding' person since I was a kid so I really like your 'horse' references, thank you.

I am pursuing Tai Chi as a result of my NOOM program and our discussion on intuitive movement. Found your site and tried for the first time this morning. I also have balance issues and some neurological issues in my legs. I walk and do core and weight work BUT I am so glad to have found you. I plan to follow your series for exercise and healing. So excited. Thank you for your commitment to healthy living.

This is what I call real tai chi! Good movements and great instruction.
One suggestion, not on your taichi movements, though. When you bow dont raise your hands. Keep them downwards on both sides. When you do the hand salute dont bow. Do one or the other, but not both. Otherwise you look funny. Thats the Chinese way.
    Good job!

I am so excited I can feel my energy (chai) in the very small ball I have....today it is a little bigger. I want to rally understand each movement and I am staying with video 1 until i really understand it. You both are very good teachers. I am so thankful I found this video. I wish I could see the movements from you from behind- sometimes my foot work is off on the wrong side.

I am recovering from multiple surgeries to my L2 & left hip, I am thrilled to add Tai Chi to my regime. Can you create shorter videos that are easier to adapt to a person recovering? I understand it is the movement that warms the muscles and limbers the body so I trust your process but, I just can't get through these large sessions. TY for your amazing teaching!!!!

Thank you for all instructions on Tai Chi movement practices for beginer like me. Its great. However, I like to know, when we have to breath-in and breath-out. As I understand, Tai Chi is connected with breath management very much. Thank you
