Yup. There aren't many tank games available besides World of Tanks and War Thunder. I feel like if this game released on Steam, the playercount would've been doubled. It is essentially another survival game, however this one is unique. No humans but machines.

They know most people have their main game collection on Steam and would want to avoid spreading things out, they know that if they take the Epic money they can only sell their game to the people on Epic, that was their choice.
Not my fault that whenever this game gets available in other places I and many other people will not be nearly as interested in buying it.
I mean if you see someone selling hotdogs and you want to buy some but then get treated like a 2nd class citizen because they only sell hotdogs during lunch to their "Epic customers, come back later you dirty peasant and maybe there will be some lukewarm hotdog left for you!" would you return to buy a hotdog or go get a burger at another place?
Did he not realize the "building" he went into at the beginning was also a massive tank landship thing. Probably what the giant dragon's teeth where there to stop.

@@TheDigitalNikki it's a clean light launcher. not a bloated ressource gobbling launcher like steam. steam makes it easier to play on linux, though most gog and epic games work jsut fine using lutris
This game is an instanced "open" world rogue lite with very litte content (in regards to weapons and progression) and a very blurry environment >10m from the camera. (engine)
As far as i have seen, you can loot all available tech/upgrades in the first mission depending on your loot luck. (If you die, you lose everything except the chips you collect. Money and parts are gone and replaced with starting equip and starting money)
The story is interesting, as far as i have seen it.
The enemy reinforcement mechanics is infuriating. You looting the place only to get back every minute to your vehicle to fend off another wave. And then 10 minutes no reinforcements at all. Also the game likes to crash when you have 70% of the map cleared -.- Happend in 50% of my attempts. Losing you ALL you progress!!!
the story ends abruptly with essentially no payoff, dont worry.

Yeah i knew it wasn't good when i saw the blurryness, both Terratech games are miles better if you want a tank game kinda like tankhead
@ when looking at play throughs on YT it doesn't look that blurry... probably because the 4k gets downscaled to 1080p on YT

I reccomend Terratech on steam, its better in my opinion but its kinda similair the biggest difference is graphics as Terratech is older (but still updated) and being able to build your entire tech yourself

I hope this game comes to Steam soon. It looks like a lot of fun, especially the customisation. Curious if Steam Workshop could be implemented as well someday, as mods can really create some weird or super strong tanks. Hope to see more customisation options, such as tracks and turret mods. Or even hybrids, such as halftracks and artillery cannons. I think releasing it on Epic (as an exclusive) was a bad deal. On Steam, this could've been well welcomed and if Workshop support is present, it opens up a whole lot of customisation to the game. A lot of people like tanks, but despise the World of Tanks/War Thunder grindfest and pvp mode. Tankhead seems like a weird but fun alternative.
Maybe coop mode could be added then as well.
I just looked at one of the groups that announced this game was out, looks fun but people are calling them out for basically advertising the game on Steam and trying to get them to switch to Epic if they want to play it.

@@microwavegommmm916 It's not that it's only on Epic, it's quite literally preventing anyone that doesn't use or want to use Epic from playing the game because Epic is a as a company is shit, they sunk a lot of money into their bare-bones launch and no-one really used it so they started quite literally throwing money at devs purely to get timed exclusives to force us to use the POS platform.

Too true you never see anyone playing it even though it was an amazing game
Terra Tech is fun until you have to rebuild half your rig every 15-20 minutes and get constantly interrupted during the process by randomly airdropped enemies.
It CAN be very fun but it's so bogged down by being tedious.

As for airdroppers: yeah it kinda sucks, no guaranteed safezone for building your vehicle in a game about this is silly.
Maybe mods can help?

I think Cyril is hunched over because he used to be a old man who's conscience was transferred to a robot body so he moves like he remembers having to move even though his robot body doesn't need too.

if you do continue to play this game, when picking up the coaxial cannons of other turrets that you have destroyed, take and install it on your tank then remove it, then you will be able to salvage it, or any secondary weapon you get from any of the other tanks you destroy, hopefully this helps, also your lil tank can surprisingly make it into many areas. I'll run heavy armor with two supercharged engines.
laser canon is nice, the 90mm cannon is a good hard hitter, but the 20mm Vulcan is one of my faves

walker tanks is something I really, and i mean REALLY want in a game. and no the one time run, one off walking kv-2/at-st hybrid from warthunder's april fools years back does not count for two reasons. first it's a one time tank that can never be played again, two i never got to use it anyway as i don't play warthunder
@@LoliFoxQueen Only game that comes relatively close is Custom Mech Wars, but I'm still working my way to that point(You can get the treads at the start, but you can build the Walkers you're talking about)
@@grimreminder5038 if i remember to i'll have to look into this custom mech wars game. only other option rn would be crossout but that game went to shit because gaijin cares more about squeezing every last penny out of people than making a game.
That "building" you went into was essentially a traction cuty from mortal engines (though it's kinda small so maybe a motor township) so those massive dragon's teeth were for vehicles like that, and their larger counterparts (I'm assuming there are bigger ones?)
I don’t know if panzer recognized it but the giant ship is some sort of massive mobile tank base and it seems all those wrecked tanks were in a very clustered convoy formation with it
I wish there was more in terms of parts, weapons, enemies, and areas. Hopefully they'll continue to work on it and add more content. It's really lacking for $30, but I've put dozens of hours into what's there. (Also, the laser cannon is automatic, but only has 4 rounds per clip.)
24:15 Counterpoint: It's firing about as fast as a .50 Cal. I don't know why it's been slowed down so much, you probably need to upgrade it somehow, but if that's not the case then just chuck it up to "video games get rotary guns wrong" and leave it at that.
I agree. A lot of games get rotary guns wrong. Although the Vulcan in tank head fires faster than the standard 20mm cannon. So I guess maybe it's a balance thing

20:25 I think there’s a bug that’s causing you to not be able to grab the cannons from upside down turret caps. I think it might have something to do with the floor being too close or some other detection issue or something, not sure tho.
Edit: it could also be intended for progression or balancing or something. Idk
I’m pretty sure the name tank head is actually just the genre because if you look it up, there’s some stuff that kinda reminds you of this game and what I mean search up I mean, look up World War II diesel punk mechs and you may find something called tank head

Great review. 👍 But Abrams tanks do have external, or full rack swap, loading capabilities. Just that it has been found easier to load manually. Plus most crews (loader) has a specific order they want the rounds in the rack.
RE: Drone based horror...
Try out Duskers. It's not FPV but it is a drone based horror game and it's absolutely brilliant. Rogue-like elements, strategy elements, and great atmosphere of the like, isolation of space. Highly recommend.
