I know you’re not a huge fan aesthetically pf tanks going 50’s and forwards, but I find it so fascinating when you talk about or feature MBT’s and other modern armor on your channel!
@ 19:40 IL-2 Sturmovik has a DLC you can get for it called Tank Crew: Clash at Prokhorovka. The Tank models are some of the best I've seen, and it's somewhat similar to GHPC in how it plays.
20:54 Both Abrams and M60A3 do have their lead compensation in-game. If you use your rangefinder while the turret is moving, it will activate it. You can dump lead by simply just releasing your right click so your sight's not offset or trying to catch up. 29:35 If you're playing as NATO, M60A3, M1, M1IP, and the M2 Bradley have thermals. Same key as your night sights. They're low res and on the M60A3 and Abrams you need to zoom in when using thermals to bring up the sight, but it's good for scanning and finding targets that are a bit more hidden. A few tanks like the M60A3 and Abrams can also switch to the backup sight (I think C by default when in the gunners view) if your main sight is ever broken. If the commander spots something and you can't seem to find it, holding spacebar will basically perform a commander override and point the turret in the general direction of the target.
anyone else noticed during this entire video he NEVER used (or at least highlighted) the abram's #1 feature... being that it had gen-1 thermals. also side note: if you're losing enough points on the warsaw campaign, there's a rare chance you can drive a t34-85
6:12 I'm not alone in loving the T-54/55! Always loved the shape as for me, it defined the post war Soviet look, especially the round cast turret. T-54 and T-72 are peak cold war aesthetic for me. Though I think it also resulted in a strange love for the Chieftain as well. Oh, and if you go into instant action, you can select the Grafenwoehr training range. Once you select it, you can choose the "showcase" option for a firing range with all the vehicles or you can choose a little session firing at targets for each individual vehicle.
the t72 and t64 and t80s have delta D aka once you laze a target as you advance the delta d will automatically decrease range to keep your lase accurate so unless the target moves you dont need to re laze just fire and advance PS i like to try and set personal records for range in this game and with the m1ip i got a 3204 meter kill on a bmp with AP Double ps m60a1 rise is conisdence range so will the t64a. the m60a3 is laser range just like abrams.
the m60a3 has a laser range finder, but the m60a1 has a coincidence rangefinder, so you simply put the reticle over the target and lase. in my experience though you have to lase a few times to get the accurate range
9:32 I had the same reaction when I saw a M1 abrams the first time in my T-72M1 3BM15 aint gonna help you much to bad the soviets didnt give the east germans better rounds 3bm15 is outdated in 1985 while the Soviet forces now with the T-64A get 3BM32 Vant and the 3BM32 Vant destroys abrams easily inside 500m hit the turret cheek it will go through and kill the crew and could even set off the ammo in the back killing the tank beyond 500m I would recommend hitting gunbreach area or LFP (for the M1 version of the abrams you could still hit the turret cheeks at 1000meters but problem is M1IP and M1 looks similar so better assume the abrams infront of you is a M1IP)
"b-BuT yOu plAyeD iT aLl wRonG!" ☝🤓 Just kidding It's always neat to see people's first experiences in the game. If you need more pointers about what makes each tank good and on how to play them, check the devs website, they wrote gunnery guides on the tanks and IFVs currently in the game.
29:35 shows one thing about tank warfare today, sure you can egnage a dude at super long range, but can you see it. even with thermals theres way to hide yourself and the ATGM to fire before you even see the target.
No but like seriously its almost scary how quickly Eta was destroyed by the M1 in the T72. Could not even see the Abrams when it had ranged and fired at him in the night
Some tips. You can press space bar to have the tv designate you on to target. Listen or read the fire command. And aim center mass trust the ammo.(for main gun)
Fun fact if you press c again you switch to manual sights for say if you lose power. Also idk if you did it or not but holding space turns the turret to what your commander is looking at
A UI overhaul would do a lot of good. I haven't played the release version yet, but from playing the demo it was basically my only complaint with the game
This game should be played like Abrams frst because easy mode then you go Soviet and M60 for gigachad ending up with older tanks like T-55 and M60A1 passive
19:12 As a fellow War Thunder player, I know your feels and the struggle that is the grind… I also started out F2P, but I gave in to the grind and bought some premium tanks… I know, shame on me. But I have to correct you saying you will Never ever play the Abrams as a F2P in WT. A great way to get your first top tier tank is through squadron vehicles - if you are in a squadron (which I would greatly recommend, as it is always more fun to suffer with friends, and also for many more reasons), you can basically „research“ some vehicles (for instance the M1A1 AIM (the Australian Abrams) for the americans, the polish Leopard 2 in the german TT and many more) with so-called squadron points, which you get 100% passively and for completely free depending on how active you are (higher activity (playtime, games played etc. = more points, faster research). I am neither a very good player nor am I very active or play a lot, and in one year I got the Leopard 2 PL for the German TT and the M901 „WALL-E“ TOW missile launcher for the americans. Join a squadron, have fun, and you’ll have your Abrams in no time! Also, through this, I realized that top tier in WT is absolute and utter garbage. It’s just point and click. But that’s of course up for everyone to decide on their own. Thanks for making these great videos, keep up the great work! And most importantly, have fun! TL,DR: Don‘t say you‘ll never play the Abrams in WT, Squadron vehicles are the Nr. 1 way to get it quickly.
There is a ww2 game in a very similar genre to this (that actually has singleplayer content and is way cheaper than il-2) called Steel fury: kharkov 1942, only catch is you have to deal with the game being very old and best with an overhaul mod that's difficult to track down. But also because it's old it's super cheap, and infantry even exist in it which is more than i can say for this or war thunder at the moment lol
Holy moly new Eta video dropped This is amazing However, I am still noticing a servere lack of Company of Heroes 2 in your videos and streams... But, since GHPC is great, you are excused- for now.
There's a testing range in the mission menu, if you didn't see it. I didn't catch if you drove one in the video, but the M60A1 in game does use the coincidence rangefinder you described. Also the markings in the bottom right of the T-55 sight are used to estimate range based on the height of the target.
I will be contrarian and say that T-series seem uninteresting to me. They all all pan-shaped turret slaped on low chassis. Meanwhile NATO tanks are all different and therefore more interesting. (Also M 48 is kinda cute.)
If the blast door is perforated the crew will be forced to evacuate the tank due to fire leaking into the fighting compartment, but if the blast doors are intact they will be forced to use ammunition from the hull rack near the engine if any remains. The coaxial machine gun would also be operational but the crew may not stay in the fight and choose to retreat the vehicle out of the fight if they can.
@@barbarapitenthusiast7103 also gen one thermals like the ones used in GHPCs 1985 setting are poor in image quality so they there mainly used to spotting target's while the day sight was used to engage unless it was night and one more thing since the thermal's in GHPC are more or less fully simulated things like what time of day it is will affect you're image contrast through the sight meaning it can from being able to pick out details in environment well to extremely hard
@@samargrewal929 they would be used to ID and then engage during the night. Since their heat dettection was very very bad.
