I used to play a tabletop in the late 70s-early 80s called 'Firefight'. A platoon, company themed game centred around Western Europe. This was a bit before the Abrams and Bradleys were introduced. One of my friends noted that the BMP-1 had more firepower and heavier armour than the early PzKw IV. Now it's utterly obsolete. Technology marches on.
i managed to do this mission with 1 bradley. i just had the rest hold position right before we made contact so i could do it by myself also HE-I is way less effective against helicopters than i think it should be
Currently is based on a 1985 ww3 scenario, but if the game does well they plan to expand to other theaters and times. They wont go so modern that they dont have good estimates or data for the vehicles though.
In Iraq late 2005, we were at a base that had been turned over to the Iraqis. I looked out of a temporary barracks window to see a Hind bearing down on the building. It was friendly, it was also a new experience to be honest it was absolutely terrifying to see that thing. It screams death.
Warsaw Pact vehicles seem to be underperforming compared to NATO ones. Great job, though. Exciting is an understatement, My adrenalin was pumping just watching.
Btw Wolfpack, when shooting at Choppers you dont shot with HE or HEAT as you want the muzzle velocity of APFSDS to make it easier/possible at all to hit Choppers. The TC orders you to shot AP for a reason afterall lol The same goes for MBTs btw. APFSDS, Lase Chopper and center point when they hover. You can also hit them while moving with the dynamic lead but its hard.
Well heres another game for yhe wishlist lol edit: after seeing the after action report reminds me of a line from Mechworrior: Nice shot commander theyll have to clean him out with a hose.
Is it me, or is the AI in this game always half asleep? Barely reacting to incoming fire, seemingly no reconneissance of surrounding area, no communications apparent...
Its not just you, the ai has been pretty much placeholder for some time now (with a few improvements here and there). The devs are aware and working on an overhaul for the AI behind the scenes alongside more content and mechanics.
Do the trees have collision modeled? @ 3:43 I noticed that your TOW went right through it. I was 11M (Bradley) and 11H (TOW Gunner) and was using the TOW2 and TOW2B. We were trained to be VERY careful around trees as the guide wires would sever. That shot you made would have been ruined by that tree either by pre detonation or by the wires being torn. As some extra info, they also can't be shot over water, again, because of the guide wires
If things had gone hot, the staff guys running numbers for NATO had the maximum life expectancy for their forces stationed at the Fulda Gap at no more than 15 hours.

That was intense. Damn you played that well! Loved the guided missile duel with the helo. Thought they had you! Awesome video. I watched it 1080p on my tablet last night and got up today and watched it again 1440p on the big screen because it was great. Keep it up!
Before I forget due to my ADHD when you tell the Bradley’s to stop following they stop moving. So after doing that you can just switch to each bradley and set them up on the mini bunkers.
Back in the 80s US Army Aviation Magazine had an article describing a hypothetical encounter between US and Soviet helicopter units. The night vision played a big role in allowing the US to set an ambush ... stingers on the Hips and TOWs on the Hinds.
FYI, instead of walking your rounds up, you can place the vehicle in that slanted area (the "curved line")under the sight, and use the numbers as range/distance, as you will be elevated to that range. I kinda like the BMP's sights a little better, personally. This also applies to (mostly Pact) rifle scopes with the curved line as well.
GHPC will have IFVs, infantry with man portable AT launcher's and ATGMS as well as cs in the form of both helicopter's and aircraft. while tank's are the focuses in the bigger picture they will be one peace to a living battlefield

i was in the 8th id our forward positions was the fulda gap this looks good except russian doctrine at the time was grid square artillery saturation.

Figure sabot has higher velocity/easier to land any hit worth more than the tiny bit of explosive a 25mm round can carry

Checks out. Sabot goes through gearboxes, engines, electronics and people.
Nice to see some air assets in this game. The pucker factor has to be high though when one of those Hinds turns your way 😮

You can if you toggle the "fire support" box in the AAR. May or may not show them though, only the hits.

You can manually index range, that way you don’t have to Kentucky windage it so much.

Congrats WP! Now you know what we thought the Gap was gonna be like in the late 80s. Intense, and most likely very brief.

The storyline is they sent Bradley's to a definite death and then gave all the credit to the lone scout helicopter.
