Awesome job. Please get that radio working. 😁. I drove truck for 15 years. I don't miss it. But then again they have the best trucks out there these days.
When youre setting yourself up to back think of it like a fish hook to set yourself up. And while you're backing its a matter of finding your target line and then following the tandems on the trailer. After that if you need a pull up and find yourself in a situation where you need to scoot over don't have your tractor pointing the same angle of the trailer like you did at 6:00 have it facing the other direction otherwise you're just going to set yourself up in a back and forth loop
If I could give you a tip for backing it would be this. Alot of newer drivers over think when they back, but if you trust this process it will be easier. When backing dont use the rear of the trailor as your guide, use the rear trailor tandems as your guide. The moment your rear axel hits the line of the spot you're looking to back into cut hard, and pay close attention to the tires of the rear tandem, where ever they are is where the trailer is going. To many make the mistake of following the rear of the trailor and then take 30 mins to an hour to back into a spot, sometimes even causing accidents in the process.
Also the key to backing into any spot is this, 1 and a halfish past your desired spot, then turn the wheel all the way right, until the tractor is at 12 o'clock then turn the wheel left until the tractor is at 9ish oclock.
@@kydon1236 Thats what they teach you in school but it only works if you have lots of room. In the real world you most often need to go a space and a half then turn to a 45 degree angle and go until the tractor is 5/8s of the gap you have, then turn back left until u see your rear wheels while looking out the window. Then cut hard right and start backing. Works every time once you figure out how much to go forward when you begin the meneuver.
@@RedWhiteAndBlue4evr1 not true, I use this method for all my backs. Geometry doesnt change. When you over think it that's why it takes a new driver 30mins to an hour if it isn't a standard straight back.

I also love the videos like everybody else here but I have one suggestion to think about: I see that you eat with a lot of plastic dishes, forks knifes and etc. We all must reduce such kind of stuff. Can you please think to this direction how you can make it more green?
@Hyperskreem 82 if you seek you will find :) There are some ways. I am not saying to completely stop using plastic but to just think of a way to reduce it a little.
What kind of antenna setup do you have on your CB? When you're pulling up to the spot you're going to back into at a 90º angle, pull up until your front tractor tandem is even with the start of the spot and turn hard right until about half your trailer passes the spot then turn hard left. That should leave you about perfect to back in in one shot.
@@ALEXTHETRUCKINGGUY You'll probably want to pick up a decent antenna and not rely on the one in the truck. As you're probably not the first person to drive that truck, you have no clue if it's even hooked up anymore. Get one that mounts to the mirror arm and has a coil on it. Then get your coaxial cable, RG-52, typically, in multiples of 3 feet. So, like 12 or 15 feet, depending on the length of the antenna. There's a whole formula for matching them up to get the lowest possible feedback all through the band.
Alex while watching this video of you back in this truck into that spot I was saying the forces is with you. You can do it Alex back that truck into space. Starwar stlyes. Lol 😆 🤣
I feel your struggle. Am a first yr flatbed driver. I started out from Vaca Valley, Ca near Sacramento with a 16K lb load of insulation panels full height (turns out light and high profile is the most dangerous in snowy windy conditions) heading to a new Microsoft build site in Cheyenne Wyoming in 12/23/21 and got stuck in the Sierra-Nevada mountains on I-80 near Emigrant Pass at Nyack Rd for 3 days because of the NorCal alpine kamikaze/tsunami snow falling by the feet not inches. Finally arrived in Cheyenne Wy by 1st of January 22. So spent my Christmas and New Years in the snow and ice.
Check your antenna, you need a dedicated one and there should be a din of noise from people talking, especially at higher elevations, like on foothills facing a lot of urban and suburban areas.
Good thing you have patience you seem to not let anything bother you I mean you do complain but everyone does that as long as you don't panic and start fighting with others you'll be good just watch those mirrors keep your distance and drive at a safe speed.
Keep on trucking buddy.!! I'm a new trucker myself, and i really want to start recording my job too. It can give people i know the perspective of what i do as a truck driver to those Who doesn't know the job. Keep recording your job, you really do great. Keep on trucking sir.!!! 🤘🚛✌
Just a heads up when it comes to the CB radio never ever ever key up on the microphone without having the antenna connected to the radio if you do you'll blow out the circuits it will still be on it will still receive but you'll never be able to transmit again... Also I would highly suggest go to a CB shop and have them tune it to the truck meaning have them come out so they can properly tune it... I have my ham radio license and setting up a radios to a vehicle can sometimes be difficult and other times you could just get very lucky and be easy but most of the time it is difficult to have it properly tuned... A lot of truckers will just throw the radio in and be done with it. sure will reach out about a mile or so but a properly tuned and peaked radio should be able to reach out 10 miles on flatland... Sometimes you'll come across a driver that said he was able to talk to someone several states away now this is possible but the conditions have to be perfect. his radio has to be perfectly set up, the antennas have to be perfectly tuned, atmospheric conditions have to be perfect, and the sun needs to be at its solar Maximums, which occurs every 11 years.
The only thing you can do in winter driving is take your time, if it takes 7 days to get to your destination, just do it safely. The Texas/Louisiana ice storm last year was proof. It took me 3 days to get from Houston Texas to Bastrop Louisiana, when normally it's only 6 hours.
Also for those who don’t know it’s actually easier to back up a big trailer than a small one. Small trailers cut pretty fast and they kind of walk on their own. So it’s constantly correcting and trying to guy a trailers that doesn’t seem to listen 😂😂

@Hyperskreem 82 if you seek you will find :) There are some ways. I am not saying to completely stop using plastic but to just think of a way to reduce it a little.
Great video!
I don't know what antenna this truck has. I see it on the back of the truck though. It's one that's at a 45 degree angle.
Thanks for the backing tip
Lol 😆 🤣
Love your videos! Need more longer vlogs!
So cool to get an inside view of this life style!
After my home time I used to run Empty Ford Racks from Michigan to Nogales Arizona for 2200 Miles Load was like 13,000 pounds.
i actually love these vids! keep it up man!!
I LOVE these longer videos, please continue making them
I like the longer content. Keep it going please!!!
I don't plan on stopping the long videos they'll just be uploaded a lot less often than the short ones because they take 8hrs+ to make
TOO EASY 💪💯
Finally a longer video!
I absolutely love the longer videos!
Hey Plainfield Indiana! Howdy from Indiana!
Hey Alex! In this ling winter drive, what speeds on freeway and “mountain “ driving were you comfortable with please?
Will help me gauge
Love the longer videos!
Check your antenna, you need a dedicated one and there should be a din of noise from people talking, especially at higher elevations, like on foothills facing a lot of urban and suburban areas.
You got this and ty for the content. Keep on trucking.
You always provide great content!
You sounded so desperate saying, " I got to go ", I thought you were going to get out and pee behind your truck 🤣🤣
Be safe and careful driving have fun and success always
I like the long form videos
Good thing you have patience you seem to not let anything bother you I mean you do complain but everyone does that as long as you don't panic and start fighting with others you'll be good just watch those mirrors keep your distance and drive at a safe speed.
Love these longer videos! Safe travels bro
Keep on trucking buddy.!!
I'm a new trucker myself, and i really want to start recording my job too.
It can give people i know the perspective of what i do as a truck driver to those Who doesn't know the job. Keep recording your job, you really do great.
Keep on trucking sir.!!! 🤘🚛✌
Would love a long video of just the scenery you find yourself in
Just a heads up when it comes to the CB radio never ever ever key up on the microphone without having the antenna connected to the radio if you do you'll blow out the circuits it will still be on it will still receive but you'll never be able to transmit again...
Love seeing the longer type videos
Be safe out there man these last couple days out there have been real rough rookie or not
