Small tip, don’t use metal tongs on the cook top. Appears there is probably a non-stick coating on the grill top. Metal tongs can scratch the surface. Try using plastic or ones that aren’t metal will make your non-stick surface last a little longer.

I miss your content Alex. Are you ok? What’s new? I have watched every one of your videos. Of all the trucking videos, you are the most honest and down to earth.
I am a retired principal from Florida. My nephew stayed with me during his truck training years ago. He has been driving for years, but now he does local runs for a food company in South Carolina.
I loved your bike adventures, adore watching you cook, and I think people would be interested in more of your off driving time. Maybe even off duty at home.
For me, I feel like I am peeking into your life.
    Still with Varient?
I look for new videos every day. I am not a trucker, but of all the different guys and gals posting…I have bonded with your style.
If you are ever near Tampa Florida, my wife and I would love to invite you to dinner.
Good luck, hope you are well

Another cooking tip Alex is to pick out your seasoning or whatever you decided to season or add to your steak, chicken or whatever your protein is then go and season it BEFORE YOU decide to stick it on the grill or whatever you use for that protein and you want to basically seal those things into the meat. Also don’t kill the meat after it’s been already killed, meaning don’t overcook it man. I love your videos and your content, BUT your killing me with the cooking side because your making it harder than it is for yourself man. Your learning I get it and you will see how to properly get things done, until then don’t make it harder for yourself. A good crust on the OUTSIDE doesn’t mean you burnt it it just means you seals those flavors inside the meat. But a medium rare steak is perfect at least to me. I can’t do a chewy and over done steak man It’s not gonna kill you.
Lastly, do the feel test start at the chin for more med rare all the way to the forehead for a well done type.

Lol you did a fine recovery job with that steak. I kept laughing when you kept saying you burnt it Because you have not truly seen burnt till you catch my mother on a bad day of cooking steaks, she can make the outside of the steak completely inedible but somehow the inside of the steak is cooked almost perfectly you just need a really sharp Potatoe peeler to slice off the outer layer then everything is good. 😆

Btw the reason the smokeless button doesn’t work is because it doesn’t really mean smokeless it just redirects the smoke and it blows it out of underneath the stove so that’s the reason the smokeless button doesn’t work in small places.

You might want to get a metal (aluminum) cover to cover up when you are cooking your meat on your grill. It will trap the heat and your meat cook faster. The way you are cooking meat on your grill, it seems that the grill only cooking at the bottom because the remaining are open and heat is escaping.
Or try getting thinner sliced meats.
If your family have Costco membership, I believe some locations carry Asian precooked rice which you can microwave it for 90 seconds if you want it. Check it out.
I hope these information helps you in future.
Take care and thank you for sharing your videos.

When I do my steaks I let them get to room temp first. I then cook them unseasoned. I put the seasonings on a cutting board and put the steak on that. As it cools it pulls the seasoning in. A minute or so on each side and it's delicious. No burning seasoning off on the grill either.

You might think about marinating your meat in a zip-lock bag the night before cooking. McCormick Steak blend is great on everything. Also pick up a dome lid for your cook top. This will allow for a more even cooking with all your meats. Another simple alternative is adding garlic butter to those vegetables..... It tastes amazing yet simple !!! Alex - please don’t ever destroy a fine American piece of beef like that again! Several words you should become familiar with … meat thermometer, rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, well, butterfly. If you like well done beef then never try to cook that thick a steak again … butterfly it then cook. Take steak out of fridge bring it to room temperature pat dry to remove excess moisture then season then grill . Another suggestion try a nu-wave induction cooktop. Also size the power inverter to run fridge grill and microwave all at same time
