This was too sweet for me, my kids loved it. The recipe i grew up on is lost, so ive been trying others til i find the right one. My kids love this recipe though so i may have to make them this one, and keep looking for one that is more like my godmothers.
My granny always made us chocolate gravy and biscuits for breakfast. I always added a little butter on my biscuit halves and then pour the hot gravy over the biscuit. Soooo gooood! Thank you for this video
my father was from a large family in AR, and he grew up on this. So, he would make this for us on special occasions growing up, or just because. I love it with crispy bacon, the sweetness with the salty bacon compliments each other.
Once you add the vanilla, it will not thicken up anymore. The alcohol will stop it from thickening, is why you add only when is thick as you want. Is how I was taught
If you have left overs mix in one 2 egg yokes per cup of gravy and reheat on low whisking constantly. Then let come back down to room temp and refrigerate. Best pudding ever.
In England gravy is like a more concentrated clear meat broth of sorts that we pour over roast meat. And a biscuit is what you would call a cookie. (unless it had chocolate chips, then we call it a cookie as well) But this does look DELICIOUS. Looks like it would be great on a stack of pancakes or on ice cream. Yum.
This takes me back to my childhood visiting my cousins in Alabama, they made the best chocolate gravy. I have to try your recipe, your biscuits look so good too.
I really wish there was a recipe in the drop-down box. It is very easy and I would like to use this recipe but I can't remember the proportions. I am disabled so I can't hold a pain anymore.

I use cornstarch rather than flour. It gives it more of a chocolate flavor instead of flour taste.

I grew up on that my mom always made it for us thanks for sharing looks great yummy😅😅😅
Perfect, I grew up on this. You can refrigerate any leftovers and it makes good pudding.
My mom used to make me and my brother chocolate gravy and homemade biscuits I sure miss those days

LOVE chocolate gravy! Yours is just like what we have made for years! Only difference…. We butter the biscuits before putting the gravy on. 😊
Butter only makes things better!

Please let me know how you like the biscuits and gravy! They're both definitely a big hit here at our farm!

Happiness is right lol! So glad you enjoyed it!
Looks like my chocolate pudding recipe except no eggs. Sure looks good 😊
I love my chocolate gravy! My momma used boiling water added after you mix all of your dry ingredients!
That is fucking smart! Thanks!
You should add vanilla off the heat.
my moms recipe she got from her mom they never use flour...ever tried it without the flour?
This sounds like the same cooked chocolate used on 9 layer cakes.
Not a fan but thanks anyway
