@@victoriacusato4187 no, not the same at all. Cheese curds are baby cheese; cheese that hasn't matured and aged yet. Mozzarella is a mature cheese, just not a very old one. Cheese curds are very sweet, and have high water content, so they "squeak" against your teeth. It's a similar flavor to Farmers cheese or Oaxaca cheese, but a bouncier texture. Unlike mozzarella sticks, they are not battered really, just plunked into a deep fryer. It's a special type of treat that I think is really only available in regions with a lot of dairy farming. Since cheese curds are basically fresh cheese, they spoil very quickly and don't travel well. So unless you're in like, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Texas, or northern California, I'm not sure if your would have access to them. But if you ever see them, please try them! emmymadeinjapan that’s great, Emmy!! I enjoy watching your channel so much, and have done so for a couple of years now ❤️ my mom and I were out on the Mississippi tonight and when I told her you came here, she was flabbergasted! She said, “all of the way from Rhode Island?!” 🙂
So I'm From MN! This made my heart so happy!!! Hope you had the greatest time in Minnesota!!! Glad you came to visit us!! 💕 P.s My favorite is the cheese curds
People live there durring fair time for 2 to 3 weeks, there are dormitories, and peeps need more healthy foods. There is actually a grocery store on site.
a little irrelevant but you seem so pure and kind omg 🥺 your videos make me smile, lightly laugh, and hungry all at the same time, i love your channel already!
As a Minnesotan this is cool to see someone analyze and describe foods that are ultra-familiar to me. I swear the milk at Sweet Martha's is the coldest milk in existence. You missed the mini donuts though!
when the fair was in my state I ate 2 turkey legs, 2 ear of corn, 6 pronto pups, 2 funnel cake, bbq brisket, glazed almonds, caramel corn bag, half a dozen root beer, cotton candy, fried fish order, 2 large cheese fries, and I think that's it. I ate it all in one day, I felt sick for like 3 days and had diarrhea but it was worth it. Only problem was that I was already 420 pounds when I went there and now a month later I am at 436. Losing weight is hard when it tastes so good. My wife cooks healthy meals at home but I can't stop sneaking double quarter pounders, baconators, pizza, etc after work on the way hom. Just today my wife did baked salmon on rice with broccoli and that sounded nasty to me so I ended up ordering 2 baconator fries and a daves triple classic with cheese before home. My wife kissed me and I forgot to wipe my lip and she tasted cheese sauce and I got in trouble. I also like to stash food in hidden areas, I have 3 large bags of halloween chocolate candy in the closet behind our winter clothing and like to sneak some candy sometimes because I feel like she is trying to starve me to death. Sorry, I had to vent.
Oh my goodness, BLESS YOU for putting a blur around you. It always bothers SO MUCH me in public videos like this when the person filming just doesn’t seem to care about the other people around them. This is what I’ve always wanted to see! Yes! It doesn’t have to be individual faces blurred! Just a general blur around you to protect people who may not want their face online! THIS IS SO GREAT! THANK YOU EMMY
@@TheNomadicSunny it's not really necessary to cover their faces since they are in public and there is no expectation of privacy. it's thoughtful though and i get it.
As a Minnesotan, I’m so glad you were treated well and that you enjoyed the Fair, Emmy! Next time you need to do a meet-up because you have a TON of fans here! What brought you to our lovely state fair??? I’d love to hear a story of what brought you to our neck of the woods!
I haven't been to the MN State Fair for 30+ years!! I love the food. Emmy tried some of my favorites. She missed the malt while she was at the Dairy Bldg. Also the many foods at the International Village. Thank you Emmy for bringing back some wonderful memories!
How am i just discovering that you have a MN State Fair video?!? The thing I didn't know i needed until I found it. 😂 And I feel like going to the fair with you would be so much fun!!!
I grew up in MN, the fair was quite the privilege to have nearby. I think my favorite thing to get there was a deep fried snickers bar, which is... a pretty dangerous item if you're not a fan of heart attacks.
Emmy... thank you so much for making this video. I am a Minnesotan who currently lives in Canada and has for a few years. There is nothing here even remotely comparable to the Minnesota State Fair. I have missed it so much, and I have so many memories there. It feels nostalgic, but it also makes me miss home so much. It is so nice to see my home, and my Fair like this. Thank you for your reviews of everything. It explains to my Canadian husband what I am missing so dearly.
YES!!! I’m from Minnesota and have lived in japan for about 8 years. Always go back for Christmas so haven’t been able to visit the state fair in a very long time...I am living vicariously through this video XD Love to see MN getting some love ❤️
The strawberry rhubarb malt from the dairy building is my favorite thing at the fair. Cheese curds definitely don’t need to be dipped in anything. They’re bliss. I think the fries are so good they are better alone too.
The land of hot dish wants you to return and collaborate with Minnesota public radio or television Also, I am guessing it was your son identifying rainbow trout and answering that catfish don’t have sonar. Got to love curious kids who also are guided by parents to be didactic. Obviously they’re being formally educated but you can still teach them to teach and witnessing that made you feel even more kindred in spirit. You’re a great parent Emmy, I love your ethos!!
Curl Crush Ent and THIS is exactly why I love Emmy’s channel!! Supportive people who are not somehow angered over words! I swear I don’t talk the way I talk to be “smart” it’s just the way I talk and so many people take umbrage with it! I refuse to censor myself and if my off the cuff verbiage is vexing well I AM SORRY! Emmy has such a GENUINE audience, people who, like her, are fair and open. I see so many comments that are altruistic in nature too. Curious people are drawn to this channel and it’s refreshingly free of drama too. Thank you very much for bothering to comment. Your supportive words are very appreciated 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
You can go to the grocery store and buy the sweet Martha cookie dough and they all kinds like regular and oatmeal! They aren’t as good as the state fair ones but they taste pretty similar. also they aren’t as thin as the ones at the state fair!
I eat Vegan and I love your channel. Mark my words, we WILL see you on the Cooking Channel. I know an excellent contract lawyer in RI who worked with TV chefs. This video just oozed the feeling & dreamyness of the last, lazy days of summer. Well done. I loved it.
It is in no way my place to say anything about how you raise your children but can I please say how much I respect you as a mother. You talk to your boys like people first before you talk to them like children. (From what I've seen in your videos) and they are so confident and we'll spoken. You are a marvelous mother and a gem of a person.
Oh man. Thanks Emmy for all of the effort that went into this video. I grew up going to the Minnesota State Fair every year. I would make a list beforehand of all the foods I wanted to have, and even back in the 90s I used to somehow go through like 60 dollars just on food (thanks Grandma and Grandpa!). Now I'm an expat and live in Austria, so it warmed my heart to live vicariously through your trip to the fair! It really is one of the best things about the great state of Minnesota.
They're so popular that a few years ago they started selling them at grocery stores in the freezer section. So you can still get em if you miss the fair!
Love your vids and how you describe food. Would be awesome if you did a series featuring different veggies. I'm a farmer and it would be awesome to have input from a reliable source on what various types of tomatoes, cucumbers, kales, etc... taste like and the such. Anyway just a thought. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for doing this Emmy! I could not make the fair this year so it was a pleasure to see the fair through your eyes! I LOVE cheese curds and Sweet Martha's! We can buy Sweet Martha's now in some groceries so we can have the flavor of the fair all year long!
My old church as the oldest standing food building at the fair! My sister and I used to be the dish girls when we were little! If you ever go back, hit up the hamline dining hall. You can take a break from the sun and enjoy some heart food :)
I love that you got to experience the greatest place on earth in Mn. BUT you have to experience the renaissance festival here. Honestly would rather be there than the state fair. I'm so sad I missed you but its fantastic you got to have a day to enjoy the fair fare!!
Fuert Neigt heck yeah! I live in Iowa and go to the Iowa state fair almost every year and while the fair is fun with yummy food it’s costly 😭 actually, I mainly go to look at the bunnies and horses xD
I'm from Minnesota and the State Fair is epic! My favorite things are the basic corn dog, the French fries, fresh squeezed lemonade, mini donuts and proper thick ice cream malts! Plus don't forget the fair staple cotton candy! This was very nostalgic for me, glad you had fun!
If you dip your fried cheese curds in anything, it's better with a ranch based sauce. This is speaking as someone from Wisconsin, the cheese state, where you can get them at lots of restaurants year round.
so are mcdonalds chicken nuggets I ordered 40 mcnuggets with a dozen ranch packets and 2 large fries and it was the most delicious food I have ever ate in my life. I only had 4 pieces of sausage and 4 pancakes and 2 eggs for breakfast so I was starving to death.
Welcome to Minnesota! We always share the cheese curds, mini donuts, turkey leg, pork chop on a stick. and a pronto pup. If we have any room left, we'll try the latest craze ie. fried twinkie, etc.
I go to the State Fair to eat things you can't get at every other carnival, but maybe that's just me. Love trying new and crazy things but I do always get cheese curds... They just aren't as good anywhere else
The food at the MN state fair is honestly the best. I’ve been to quite a few different “state fairs” but there’s no place like home. 💜 those were some of the best foods you could have picked as well. All on my top favorites.
I'm from Minnesota and was at the fair. My favorite MN fair foods are the cheese curds, mini donuts and ice cream (from the dairy barn). I love your videos!
I went to a county fair last year and they had churro funnel cake. Amazing. It’s not like those churro-flavored ones where they just make normal funnel cake and dust it in cinnamon and sugar, it was actually the churro dough (and shape) but in a fried squiggly heap the way funnel cakes are. It was absolutely delicious. The churro funnel cake itself was dusted in cinnamon and sugar (of course) and then it was topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, strawberry drizzle, and strawberries. It was a really good combination. The churros were made kind of thin too so it wasn’t a struggle to eat or anything. It was perfect
I absolutely admire her for the respect she has for others...the couple she unblurred clearly didn’t mind being on camera. Honestly one reason I still watch her is because she keeps her kids privacy. I hate kids on UA-cam as a mom it just doesn’t sit right with me.
Emmy is really out here holding her camera vlogging with her fuzzy mic clipped onto her jacket and just indulging in all of this fair food without a single care in the world. Now that is the level of confidence I need to reach in my life
@@QueenStylin Yes. Every year for the 11 days before labor day and labor day. It cost 15 dollars to get in. It's the biggest fair in the country in terms of attendance I believe. (Technically Texas is the largest in terms of spread.) We're very enthusiastic about it here.
Here in New Zealand, we tend to have what we call a hotdog on a stick that is similar to the corndog but with a more dense and crispy wheat flour batter on a saveloy sausage. We also prefer tomato sauce over catchup on it. Tomato sauce has similar herbs and spices added to it that you will also find in catchup, with the only difference being it contains no vinegar so as a result is sweeter.
I can't stop smiling hehe. Gosh Emmy's excitement for food and listing out all the things she wants to try is so ME that I feel like I could run an entire conversation with her about all the food we've tried (like those CHEESE CURDS omg I'm droolliinngggg)
I want to go to the Minnesota State Fair so bad! im from Boston but my boyfriend used to live in Minnesota through high school. He had fond memories there and I would love to visit with him. So awesome to get a glimps into the State Fair
OMG I can't believe you came to the MN state fair! I traveled all the way from LA to get the famous slow-roasted turkey drumstick. It's located humorously across from the poultry barn. I've never found a better turkey leg anywhere. Ever.
From Plymouth, MN here! So glad you could make it to the great Minnesota get-together! It really is one fab fusion of farming, food, and fun. [8ㄱD Some things you missed that are worth finding: Blooming Onion (it's HUGE, so make sure you have plenty of people to share with), crepes (there is an actual sit-down crepe place), pork chop on a stick (a state fair classic), and 1919 root beer, perhaps the finest soft drink to be found.
Love that @Emmymade came to our State Fair! It is a wonderful place to go. If you come again you’ll have to try some Wild Rice burgers and a boat of Smelt (fish). Love watching your videos!

We go every year. So glad you had a great time! If you come again, you should try the Strawberries and Cream, Turkey to Go, Pork Chop on a Stick, and the Poutine. The Corn Roast is a definite favorite!
Greg Liscio because why stop at one cookie when you can have a bucket?! 😍 plus then you can say you’re going to share them, and let one person have one cookie, then you’ve done your sharing! 😋
I'm so glad you thought it was wholesome! The MN state fair is my happy place! Thanks for visiting my home state. :) If you ever make it again, you should try chicken in a waffle from blue barn in the west end!
I think you got all of the staples. There used to be a place that sells a Belgian Waffle on a stick called Granny's Kitchen Fudge Puppies and they were delicious! However, they closed this year which I was really sad about. Also, another great thing at the fair is all the live music, mostly free. There is a ton! Anyway, glad you enjoyed your trip! MN state fair is something I do every year, glad you got to experience it!
I'm Minnesotan but I have lived in South Korea for the past 6 years. I recently went back to visit MN with my husband and baby in summer just because of the state fair. My husband didn't believe me that we had some of these things haha Now he wants to go back again. Love your videos!
As someone who lives in Asia but has never been to a US state fair, I appreciate that Emmy does these videos. More importantly, I appreciate how she DESCRIBES the taste of the food instead of what everybody else does - i.e. "Ohhhhh, that's delicious!" (I mean, yeah, it's good but what does it taste like???)
The bacon on a stick is really yummy . I live in Minnesota and I would have gladly walked you around the fairgrounds. Next time you do come to the fair let me know so I can gladly guide you to the best of the best of the fair foods .
Aaah my childhood! Every year we went to the State Fair for 4H for 4 days. So many fond memories. I haven’t been for years but I’m just itching to go back. A few comments: If you go to the dairy barns, they give away glasses of milk for free or nearly free (not sure if they still do) and that was always the immediate stop after Sweet Martha’s. The alligator is another must try. As well as the nitro ice cream (nearby the cheese curd stand) and going through the list and checking out all the new foods of the year. I hope you stopped over to the building with the butter heads! The beer stands from what I hear are absolutely phenomenal, all the new/weird flavors And the most of all top thing to do at the State Fair is collect free stuff! The most prized of all is St. Thomas College bags
Those cheese curds sound amazing!!! I live in PA and have only had the mediocre, kinda chewy and dry cheese curds from restaurants, Minnesota definitely seems to do it better!!

emmymadeinjapan that’s great, Emmy!! I enjoy watching your channel so much, and have done so for a couple of years now ❤️ my mom and I were out on the Mississippi tonight and when I told her you came here, she was flabbergasted! She said, “all of the way from Rhode Island?!” 🙂
ElBigRican thank you so much!! I took this picture a couple of weeks ago 🤪
So I'm From MN! This made my heart so happy!!! Hope you had the greatest time in Minnesota!!! Glad you came to visit us!! 💕
P.s My favorite is the cheese curds
Lee Roy yessss
Chelsea Divel yes! Me too
We were surprised at how much we enjoyed ourselves particularly since we went to another state fair earlier in the year. We were charmed. ✨
@@emmymade yay!!! Minnesota nice goes a long ways. Glad you enjoyed yourselves. 😁
Welcome to Minnesota! Glad to see Minnesota getting so much love ♥
This video makes me smile. Watching someone that's not from Minnesota experience what we do every year fills me with joy.
I am a Minnesotan, 2019 is the first year I haven't attended in 35 plus years. Excuse, feet hurt, plus, Carrot harvest. Best state fair in the world.
Carrot harvest! I would love to learn more!
Doesn’t everyone say that about their own state fairs?? But this fair does look pretty spectacular!!
Where Emmy came in at the fair are the kitchens are where one can get a sit down home cooked meal.
ᚠᛟᛚᚲᚱ ᚹᚨᚲᚺᛟᛚᛏᛊ and the dairy building ice cream!
I was going to mention the Tom Thumb mini donuts as well. I also love the Mini donut beer at the Ball Park Cafe.
Yes mini donuts and milk!
Also the spam bites, tater tot hotdish on a stick and the honey sunflower seed ice cream!
when the fair was in my state I ate 2 turkey legs, 2 ear of corn, 6 pronto pups, 2 funnel cake, bbq brisket, glazed almonds, caramel corn bag, half a dozen root beer, cotton candy, fried fish order, 2 large cheese fries, and I think that's it.
I like how she included that dude in the video 😂😂 he’s happy 7:15
I love how you so considerate of others by blurring. Very rare in 2019!
S H exactly
I hate it though
My thoughts exactly I love that she did that
i appreciate how she unblurred the guy who looked at the camera with a smile though. It made me happy
Ahh! Emmy’s thoughtfulness is out of this world. Thanks for caring about other strangers privacy and blurring them out 🌼🤘🏼
The blurry ruins the video 😔
Antonio Capra oh man! I disagree, but maybe there is an alternative? what do you think would be a better idea to cover peoples faces?
@@TheNomadicSunny It would be too hard to paste in individual Nicholas Cage faces.
@@TheNomadicSunny it's not really necessary to cover their faces since they are in public and there is no expectation of privacy. it's thoughtful though and i get it.
Sherio88 wow are you serious... that’s a great idea! There must be a way to fund this!!!
As a Minnesotan, I’m so glad you were treated well and that you enjoyed the Fair, Emmy! Next time you need to do a meet-up because you have a TON of fans here! What brought you to our lovely state fair??? I’d love to hear a story of what brought you to our neck of the woods!
yes! MN twincities has an amazing food "scene." It's such a beloved part of the country!
I visited family in Minnesota last week and they forced me to go to the fair. And I LOVED it!!! The newborn animals had my heart.
I grew up in MN, the fair was quite the privilege to have nearby. I think my favorite thing to get there was a deep fried snickers bar, which is... a pretty dangerous item if you're not a fan of heart attacks.
HouseFantastic same!
Cheese curds dipped into a ranch dressing is spectacular. But I enjoy fresh curds with/without breading. A fresh curd squeaks when you chew it. 😂
I was hoping someone would mention dipping them in ranch
Squeaky cheese curds rock!! As does deep fried and breaded. 😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜
Emmy... thank you so much for making this video.
Omgosh my heart dropped knowing that you were there!! I work right across the street from the fair grounds. I hope you enjoyed yourself!!
I KNOW RIGHT I WENT ALL THE DAYS AND DIDNT SEE HER
Kaitlin Oetting I didn't even know there was a shooting until just now but we're ok. Thank you for your wishes though!! 💗
The strawberry rhubarb malt from the dairy building is my favorite thing at the fair.
Cheese curds definitely don’t need to be dipped in anything. They’re bliss. I think the fries are so good they are better alone too.
Haven't been in years but there was a place that sold them with langinberry dipping sauce and those were my fave
The land of hot dish wants you to return and collaborate with Minnesota public radio or television
Also, I am guessing it was your son identifying rainbow trout and answering that catfish don’t have sonar.

Alex Hernandez thank you!!
You guys are the best ❤️😊❤️
I travelled all the way from Australia to go to the Minnesota State Fair and wasn’t disappointed.. it was amazing.
Oh Emmy you did not have to do me like that with the bucket of cookies 🍪😩🤤
Fuert Neigt it’s not just the cookies your buying! It’s also the experience. Sometimes you have to live a little.
You can go to the grocery store and buy the sweet Martha cookie dough and they all kinds like regular and oatmeal! They aren’t as good as the state fair ones but they taste pretty similar. also they aren’t as thin as the ones at the state fair!
@Fuert Neigt k
@Fuert Neigt If it's so easy go do it lmao
I know, right? 😭 I waaaaant
Your laugh is infectious I love it when you got mustard on your camera and laughed!

~☆I'M A VEGAN EVERYONE☆~
Are there vegan options at this place? It didn‘t really seem to be vegan friendly. The frites could have been vegan and the corn is.
@@denisenova7494 Oh there are plenty.
Those buckets of French fries is a mood and I need more of it in my life.
OMG right!!! Lmfaothiad
I don't understand, how can fries be a mood? Is that an American thing? X
Wonder what she would have said if she got the 88 ounces of fries 🍟
You had me at Bucket of Cookies!!! 😍
YAAASSSS.
Me too girl. A bucket. I need to visit MN.
I could eat the whole damn bucket...
That look so good *Drools*
They're so popular that a few years ago they started selling them at grocery stores in the freezer section. So you can still get em if you miss the fair!
Love your vids and how you describe food. Would be awesome if you did a series featuring different veggies. I'm a farmer and it would be awesome to have input from a reliable source on what various types of tomatoes, cucumbers, kales, etc... taste like and the such. Anyway just a thought. Keep up the great work!
Love this idea! I second this!
Yes, and ways to get kiddos to eat more.
Interesting idea
Heirloom tomatoes are the BEST!
I love that you have been able to travel and taste food for us along your journey for us so much this year!
rated as the number 1 state fair in the US! Awesome
Thank you so much for doing this Emmy! I could not make the fair this year so it was a pleasure to see the fair through your eyes! I LOVE cheese curds and Sweet Martha's! We can buy Sweet Martha's now in some groceries so we can have the flavor of the fair all year long!
It’s a real shock to see Minnesota featured in a video. I feel like it’s that state people know but hardly think of (unless they live there).
You could say that about any state besides California, Florida, Texas and New York.
John Davis the racism jumped out
ethanlmarsh Indeed! It’s strange to think of how many states there are that pass unnoticed a lot.
Same! The only time I hear about us is when it's about the MOA, and then I'm like, "oh yeah, I forgot that's kinda a big deal to other people."
Katie MB especially with the cheese curds, because you normally think of Wisconsin and not Minnesota.
Omg, omg, omg!!! I'm from Minnesota, and I knew immediately what was up when I saw your bucket of Sweet Martha's cookies! Aww, I miss it so much.
You are so conscientious of the privacy of those around you. I adore you for even thinking that way. You are a gem of a human.
*puts on bib and waits for THE GLUTTONY* (ps: Mustard on the camera = authentic and your Big Eyes of Joy for each pile of food ... priceless.)
Can I just say that fried cheese curds are divine?
Devine and the bomb
Now I need some...
MyDenali 3131
Me too ;-;
I mean mozzarella sticks are the next best thing. I could make those.
I’ve never had them and I don’t know what flavor or texture to expect? Like a cheese puff maybe? 😂
Arrionna Crumpton
They're kinda like mozzarella sticks, but with a bit more tang and a softer texture.
Delicious...the only thing missing was a giant turkey leg! I love fair food.
There actually not turkey legs, they use emu
@@itssamantha217 it's not emu 😂 that's an old myth that has been debunked. Plus they can't just sell you a different food and call it turkey!
Fuert Neigt heck yeah! I live in Iowa and go to the Iowa state fair almost every year and while the fair is fun with yummy food it’s costly 😭 actually, I mainly go to look at the bunnies and horses xD
You had me at cheese curds. Try the curds with honey (savory sweet yummy!) That fair is like Foodie nirvana (fried food anyway).
Emmy's stomach should be placed in the guiness book of world records she can eat anything.
But she doesn't finish anything lol
@@andrewthezeppo true but it's just the point of eating it lol😁😁😁
If you dip your fried cheese curds in anything, it's better with a ranch based sauce. This is speaking as someone from Wisconsin, the cheese state, where you can get them at lots of restaurants year round.
Yes! Ranch or marinara is the only way to go!
so are mcdonalds chicken nuggets I ordered 40 mcnuggets with a dozen ranch packets and 2 large fries and it was the most delicious food I have ever ate in my life.
I was so upset she didn't go to Tom Thumb's Donuts!

You came to us!?! So awesome! What day did you go?! Saturday?
You should have gotten the mini donut coffee they had this year!
She doesn't have to blur faces it's a public place.
but I like that she respects everyone's privacy. Great person Emmy is so considerate:).
I like how Emmy just blurred everything that's not her
Benedict Ridore 7:14 😂
I absolutely admire her for the respect she has for others...the couple she unblurred clearly didn’t mind being on camera. Honestly one reason I still watch her is because she keeps her kids privacy. I hate kids on UA-cam as a mom it just doesn’t sit right with me.
@@Little_Bird_Chihuahuas agreed, but I want to meet her husband!! Se what lucky guy landed such a sweet, smart, funny, capable woman like Emmy
Also so she doesn’t get sued...and yeah it’s a state fair, I’m sure there are a lot of people and kids there also, so Emmy is also being respectful ❤️
xxKEVZxx you can’t get sued for filming in public (in most states), but it’s nice she respects people’s privacy
Emmy is really out here holding her camera vlogging with her fuzzy mic clipped onto her jacket and just indulging in all of this fair food without a single care in the world. Now that is the level of confidence I need to reach in my life

Hmong food at the fair or hmong food in general? What's your favorite restaurant in the twin cities?
@@keely_cn8924 There's the Hmong village shopping center in St. Paul. I love going there and eating from all the food stalls.
@@kmj2000 I know that place. I still haven't made it in there yet. I have to get in there soon. Everyone raves about it.
Is this a yearly thing? Do you need a ticket to go?

Some things you missed that are worth finding: Blooming Onion (it's HUGE, so make sure you have plenty of people to share with), crepes (there is an actual sit-down crepe place), pork chop on a stick (a state fair classic), and 1919 root beer, perhaps the finest soft drink to be found.
Love that @Emmymade came to our State Fair! It is a wonderful place to go. If you come again you’ll have to try some Wild Rice burgers and a boat of Smelt (fish). Love watching your videos!

The Internationadl Village food was always great.

Aaah my childhood! Every year we went to the State Fair for 4H for 4 days. So many fond memories. I haven’t been for years but I’m just itching to go back. A few comments:
If you go to the dairy barns, they give away glasses of milk for free or nearly free (not sure if they still do) and that was always the immediate stop after Sweet Martha’s.
The alligator is another must try. As well as the nitro ice cream (nearby the cheese curd stand) and going through the list and checking out all the new foods of the year.
I hope you stopped over to the building with the butter heads!
The beer stands from what I hear are absolutely phenomenal, all the new/weird flavors
And the most of all top thing to do at the State Fair is collect free stuff! The most prized of all is St. Thomas College bags
Those cheese curds sound amazing!!! I live in PA and have only had the mediocre, kinda chewy and dry cheese curds from restaurants, Minnesota definitely seems to do it better!!
