    Transcript;
After passing through Immigration and Customs at Suvarnabhumi Airport exit the international arrivals hall and turn right.
If somebody is meeting you follow the signs to The Meeting Point which is near door 3.
If nobody is meeting you there are three basic ways of traveling to the centre of Bangkok. Taxi, train and bus.
Taking a taxi is not the cheapest option but at the same time not expensive by international standards. It's an easy way to travel and the one I choose.
Make sure you have enough Thai money beforehand. ATMs are situated near the taxi rank if you need them. It may be useful to know that down on level B, near the entrance to the train station, money changers and ATMs usually give a much better rate of exchange than elsewhere in the airport.
To get to the taxi rank from the international arrivals hall turn right towards The Meeting Point and on the way, opposite gate 8, turn right through security then immediately left to take the travelator down to Level 1.
Turn left at the bottom, exit through Gate 7, turn right past the ATM machines then select the correct lane for the class of taxi which meets your needs.
The lane for short distance journeys where tickets are bought from a kiosk can be ignored by most tourists as the taxis do not go into Bangkok.
For regular taxis use the middle lane. Official guidelines suggest up to three passengers and two cases.
The final lane is for large taxis. Official guidelines suggest four passengers and four cases.
Advance to the ticket machines at the end of the lane and touch the 'Get Ticket' option. A ticket will be issued telling you where to find your taxi. The numbered bays, called lanes on the ticket, are on the far side of the road in front of you. The machine will also display a plan indicating where your vehicle is waiting. During extremely busy periods tickets are not issued until a taxi becomes available.
Show the ticket to the driver. Once in the vehicle make sure he switches the meter on as he should by law. This will be done automatically except in very rare cases. If the driver won't comply get a different taxi.
Should you wish to make a complaint, call the phone number, 021320360 written on the ticket.
The additional airport surcharge payable to the driver is displayed near the entrance to the taxi rank and also shown on the ticket. It is typically added to the fare at the end of the journey.
If the driver gives you the option of taking the expressway, which happens most of the time, take the expressway. If his English is limited he may only say expressway or highway. He will understand the words yes and no.
Your decision but it is usually much quicker. You will have to pay the tolls along the route. Usually two and both are inexpensive. Give money to the driver who will pay and pass the change to you. The amount payable is displayed just beyond the kiosk and on the ticket.
Predicting the fare is difficult because it depends on traffic conditions and distance travelled. Including road tolls and the airport surcharge, it will in most cases be between 400 and 500 Baht to central Bangkok.
Having the address of your destination written in Thai to show the driver can be useful. Almost all of them can read Thai.
Most Thais are extremely honest, however, at the end of the journey some drivers may claim not to have change because it often results in them getting a big tip.
If you only have large denomination notes there are a couple of easy solutions.
Firstly give the driver a 1000 Baht note to pay for the expressway toll. After he pays take the change from him.
Secondly, buy a small item from a convenience store at the airport. After leaving the international arrivals hall follow the signs to The Meeting Point where a store is located over to the right opposite door 3. There is an ATM close to it.
To get to the taxi rank from there head down the travelator which leaves from The Meeting Point. At the bottom exit through Gate 4 then turn left past more ATMs to the taxi ticket machines.
If your final destination is close to a BTS or MRT station, taking an Airport Rail Link train into Bangkok is usually a reasonable option. They run about every 15 minutes between 5.30 in the morning and midnight, connecting with the city's rail network at Makkasan and Phaya Thai stations. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Information about current prices and services is available on the internet. Search for 'Wikipedia ARL'.

Do you have to fill out a Thailand form if you are just in-trans to the next destination Laos?

Unfortunately I am not an expert on the subject of transit through Thailand. Maybe I could suggest asking Thai Immigration. A useful link may be www.immigration.go.th/en/?page_id=30889 although I have never used it. Google will probably give more. Government sites are usually best. The Thai embassy or travel agent in your own country may also have useful information
