Added with the dramatic zoom, it was a really amateurish shot that I couldn't understand why it was kept it in the final cut. I'm glad they learned from that in season 2 and did away with it overall. Just hearing his grunts is good enough for us to understand that he's not pulling his punches here. This fight is also really well choreographed.
It still annoys me that Arbiter had chief on his back, beaten but refused to kill him. And instead turned his back on Chief. What did he expect would happen? Why even write it this way
Cause even if you put aside the disregard for Halo's lore - the writers of this show are just bad. Like - 'we had to post pay and were ignoring everything about Halo - these are the only ones that applied' bad.
I think the reason Arbiter didn't kill Chief was because he was on a mission, and because he admired Chief for his bravery. The Sangheili don't kill right away unless necessary, and Arbiter probably had some respect for Chief since he was forced to switch hands during combat.
My brother in Halo, what Halo universe have you been playing in/reading about? They most certainly do kill without justification. They are the Elite’s they have the authority to kill a grunt or human or jackal if they feel like it. Also, at the beginning of the fight he literally tells him that he will die this time 😂

Three of them were during when chief was unarmed and he just kept spamming his grappling hook. Would have been cool if he used his grappling hook like how attack on titan uses the ODM gear. Simply using the grappling as a way to make unpredictable manoeuvres.
Serious Halo Wars vibes from this, Arbiter (another different one) vs. Sgt. Forge, down to the lighting and the way he blocks the bullets with the sword, very similar
okay this gives me an excuse to talk about something i noticed about season 2's soundtrack while season 1 had its own reoccuring motifs at the cost of the lack of the halo "musical identity" as i call it, season 2 did actually have that musical identity but in turn had a lack of any real motif outside of the main halo chant (although i do think some specific moments in the series used the specific musical identity of songs from the halo ost, for example the song that plays as halsey is fleeing the command room as the flood breaks out there is VERY similar to the iconic "alarm sounding" flood theme from the games, not the exact same but if you listen to it with that in mind you can see its there)
What happened to "You shall not be spared this time!"? More than once in the fight, Arbiter could have killed our MC here--and just chose . . . . to spare him. 😮
This fight was awesome. I think I was kinda surprised by was how Chief got thrown around so easily, since canonically he seems to be significantly heavier than an elite in his armor. Well, I guess one other thing surprised me, and it’s that we actually got a great scene out of this show.
For chief it was personal cause the artbiter killed vanak. The arbiter was an honoroble mf who threw his sword when chief was down. In the end i felt sorry for the elite. He died honorably. Respect for both of them.

Gotta admit, this was a pretty decent fight. Got some wonky choreography here n there, and not a fan of the set up, but credit where its due this was fun to watch. The rescore tho is just epic

This fight is so goofy. There’s a difference between an unarmed and a disarmed opponent. Disarmament is caused by the actions of the combatant, so why in hell would you drop your weapon afterward to start a needless boxing match? It’s not “honor,” it’s just silly
You know, the armor the Covenant forces have on this show is actually pretty neat… I’m hoping that if we ever get playable Elites again I could rock a look like 1:03.

The "Halo" TV show does a terrible job when it comes to Chief’s voice, it feels way to forced and the actor does not have the tone nor the voice to interpret Chief. Steve Downes had a natural deep voice, however Pablo does not has that and feels terribly forced.
I had also seen it but somehow thought it was a combat knife by the looks of it, but MC didnt have any knife during any of the games attached to his armor that i recall. Nice catch!

Honestly I was able to appreciate the finale of the show. Was it perfect? Not at all. But there was a lot of things done right hopefully season 3 we will see more progression

I get Chief is a super spartan and whatever but it makes no sense how he could beat a sanghelli in an energy sword fight. Like Spartans, sanghelli trained since they were children with energy swords and should be the masters of their own weapons. Even if Chief trained with regular swords on Earth, the energy sword is shaped completely different and unique and he should barely know any way how to use it. That’s just plot armor boost..
Bro, Sgt. Forge would have fought better than Master Cheeks did. How could a Spartan II get beaten this badly while the only injury Forge got was a gut punch? And to top it all off, Forge is just a regular dude.

What happened to all their armour's shields. S1 has it but it's absent in S2.
I think they got lazy and didn’t want to animate them. They’re still there, that first slice from the arbiter would’ve killed him without shields.
