This show does the bare minimum and y’all get so fucking hyped it’s unbelievable. This show takes place at the apex of the Covenant War, you’d think they would show more of the UNSC and Covenant fighting, and yet the majority of the show is just human drama. They “showed” the fall of Reach in one fucking episode. One. That’s utterly ridiculous, considering the fight for Reach lasted for a month. Not to mention the Spartans didn’t have their armor on. (Fun fact: Chief had his armor on for 13% of the show, and his helmet on for 7%). I’m not even going to get into the amount of shitty and useless filler content with Kwan and Soren, or the amount of pointless changes like taking the Spartans armor away, killing off Captain Keyes during Reach, continuing to use Makee as a major character, and not even explaining how the fuck she’s still alive, and the terrible and contrived “Blessed One” plot. Just because you enjoy the show, doesn’t mean it’s good. I’m glad you’re able to turn your brain off and watch the show, but for many of us that’s just not possible. By the way, the Last of Us displayed that you can absolutely adapt a game successfully into a show. I don’t even want the show to adapt the plot of the games into the show. I just want a Clone Wars or Band of Brothers style of Halo show that respects the canon and characters, and gives us more story of what the Human-Covenant war was like outside of what we have seen from the perspective of the Spartans. Instead we got a generic sci-fi show that just slaps on the name “Halo” and spits in the face of everything that made Halo so great.
I wanted Halo, not the skin of the corpse of my childhood marionetted by fanficcing corpos. I wanted Master Chief, not a big butt marine failing to be a z-tier action hero. Fuck you
@RayyDawggg Yeah making a TV show from a video is probably difficult, it’s a huge stretch. F*cking embarrassing. Master Chief starts out barely matching the arbiter, then gets his *ss handed to him and finally "through the power of his strong emotions" gets up and handily defeats the enemy. I'm deleting the rest of this rant: none of these people actually care about making a good Halo story. AFTER the enemy defeated him... then lets him get up for no reason... god help me so painful. Its almost as if this show isn't about Halo at all and are just using the Halo terms and names to benefit from the name-brand recognition that actually competent storytellers have already built pre-343i.
Its not almost, its exactly that! More money to be made using established names on some random sci-fi story. There is theory out there that HALO tv show was actually supposed to be Mass Effect. But something went wrong and they bought Halo rights, rewrote the script for some random ass story while riding on Halos success over the years.
Dude, it’s TV made for the majority of people not the elitist fans. A lot of your complaints are valid, but it’s not a product of the shows writers so much as tropes prevalent in TV and movies in general. And yes, this show was not made for you. It was made for casual fans and the masses.
To be fair, he is getting his ass handed to him in a sword fight which the Elite would be 100x more proficient in, and so would have the advantage, even John in the books admits he's pretty bad with an energy sword in terms of "how" you are supposed to use it The second he stops fighting a sword fight, and starts brawling he starts winning due to his own experiences and Spartan augmentations. Also John literally spent the previous episode getting thrown into walls by another Spartan while he himself was not in armor, I don't think a couple smacks of an elite while in armor would somehow incapacitate him

As much as I don't wanna give this show credit for like, anything, this is a much better energy sword duel than the two seconds we got in Halo Legends
Most of the choreography in this show has been solid. Certainly better than just about everything Star Wars has put out in the past decade and that's kinda the whole point of the star wars franchise 🤷

I watched it full .
It was nice.
HOW ARE YALL THIS UNGRATEFUL. THIS SCENE WAS NOTHING BUT AMAZING. WHAT DO YALL WANT MORE? YOU CANT MAKE A TV SHOW THE SAME EXACT WAY THE GAME IS PLAYED.
In this case The writers filled the gap between viewable and interactive content by *immensely* altering the story. Although I think Changes are necessary to be successful in this kind of adaption, as a halo fan I feel disrespected for them to mend the story as they have.

Man shut up 😂 always crying need
Its not almost, its exactly that! More money to be made using established names on some random sci-fi story.
There is theory out there that HALO tv show was actually supposed to be Mass Effect. But something went wrong and they bought Halo rights, rewrote the script for some random ass story while riding on Halos success over the years.
*sigh* I know. I try to keep some distance between my fond memories of Halo and the current, stupid reality though. @@CB.326
Dude, it’s TV made for the majority of people not the elitist fans. A lot of your complaints are valid, but it’s not a product of the shows writers so much as tropes prevalent in TV and movies in general. And yes, this show was not made for you. It was made for casual fans and the masses.
To be fair, he is getting his ass handed to him in a sword fight which the Elite would be 100x more proficient in, and so would have the advantage, even John in the books admits he's pretty bad with an energy sword in terms of "how" you are supposed to use it
The second he stops fighting a sword fight, and starts brawling he starts winning due to his own experiences and Spartan augmentations.
Also John literally spent the previous episode getting thrown into walls by another Spartan while he himself was not in armor, I don't think a couple smacks of an elite while in armor would somehow incapacitate him
