I got a hair transplant! Was it worth it?

  • This is my initial experience with a hair transplant at Feller Bloxham in New York.
I finally got tired of feeling insecure about my hair loss and decided to take the plunge. Every morning I'd wake up and look in the mirror and wish I had my old hairline. This experience can be quite scary, so I'll give you some insight from my operation.

Thanks Dustin for the through explanation of the process. Your results look great and you are only 4 months post surgery. I consulted with a few HT doctors and I booked my HT with Dr. Bloxham as well close to the end of this year. He is the one I felt he would give me the best results and the hair line I want. The only thing missing from your video is the scar line. It would be great if you upload a video showing the whole scar line from side to side with zoom in as well.

No problem. When I did a #2 guard on the sides you could see it, but only if I pointed it out. So tight fades are out probably. I'll be posting a 1 year update video next month and I'll see if I can get shots of the scar.

did it take you a while to decide to for FUT instead of FUE? that whole permanent linear scar thing is quite unsettling for me

I went with doctor that had the results that I liked the most. I don't normally have my hair short enough to see a scar, so it didn't matter to me. If I had found a doctor that had consistent results that I like that did FUE, I probably would have gone that route.
I do have an 1 year update video showing my scar with a number 2 clipper cut, if you'd like to see what it looks like. A tight fade hairstyle would not look good with the scar.
