Eart Vs Fender Telecaster - which is better?
Wish we had things like that in our area, pretty cool man.
Plek machine is only as good as the operator unfortunately. I trust humans though... Many myself lol
100%
It's insane to me that someone will buy a brand new guitar, sight unseen, then pay 300 dollars to have it PLEKd. Just seems really really stupid. LIke people whjo buy brand new trucks and go straight to the tire shop. I used to get free brand tires all the time from those idiots. IDK, at least wear out the tread ya got first....
I see your point, but the analogy works. If someone buys a new truck and swaps tires to fit their needs, it’s practical, not stupid. Same with Pleking. Not all guitars are perfect from the factory, so some folks invest in getting them dialed in for better playability. It’s about getting the most out of it.
@@DustinRadtke Any skilled luthier can get more out of a guitar than any PLEK machine. This is a fact. Want proof? Ask any great guitarist who is worth their salt, if they have a machine work on their guitar, or a skilled tech. If you're buying high end guitars that need this much work out of the box, consider a brand swap.
I know this video is old but a plek can't fix high frets all the time, since most of the time, a high fret is due to it coming out of the slot, so you have to reset the fret and glue them in and then do the level
That is true, sometimes that can be the issue.
With those trailers cut a strip of plywood that run the length of the trailer and fills in the gap. Also while your at it cut a 12 inch wide one for the bottom of the door. Your caster will thank you.
Great work! Suscribed!
Thanks! It was a lot of work, but I loved the results. I play that guitar almost daily.
Hi,in your opinion Fm3 will be better choice from Hotone stage II?
A splitter and a switch aren't the same thing.
I can relate: I spent the majority of the last year trying to figure out what I liked. I found myself buying, selling, and trading guitars. Felt like I was doing that more than playing. I went on a cruise and one of the musicians was playing and tele and like you I wanted to not play a tele but the sound was just memorizing. Right before Christmas I traded one of my guitars for a D’Angelico Bedford that has the tele style pickups and a mini humbucker and I absolutely love it. I still have my eye on a tele one day but something about this guitar I have now I been able to really connect with it and love the tone. It’s also the first ever semi hollow guitar I’ve ever touched. It takes time to find what fits you and there just so many options out there.
every guitar I have gotten from sweetwater has been a turd.
I was today years old when I learned cutting the other end of the box makes it easier to take off.
Didn’t even know about this open mic in my own backyard. Impressive pulling off the whole band thing.
Great video!
Thanks! Now get to back work on your videos and make 2025 your best year ever! :)
Heyyy im almost famous!!
So popular!
Hay bales have hay which animals eat, straw is cheaper, tougher nonedible grain stalks used for bedding, etc. It means a lot of "hay rides" nowadays are misnomers as well
Learning something new everyday!
Does this run 144hz for xbox series x? Just concerned when it comes to buying one that it will continue to run best graphics etc
Does the plek’d process make you a perfectly playing guitar ? From what I’m hearing it’s a MIM strat I played a lot of these not sure if you would get them perfect no matter what you do sorry.
That's the goal, a perfectly playing neck. It didn't work out for me, though. I ended up learning to do it myself on my MIM Telecaster, and now it plays like a dream!
I love Sweetwater's return policy and customer service, had to use it once to return the worst guitar I had ever owned. Disappointing to hear that there was a high fret with their plek service, I will probably pass on that service if I ever buy another guitar from them. I'm not a fan of low-action setups either, regardless of who does it. I'm sure it is perfect before being shipped, but after wood does its thing through shipment and acclimating in a different environment, it doesn't take much to get a little buzz here and there. It's why I always set mine up with "low-medium" action.
I find low action makes playing much easier with way less effort and pressure needed to fret the strings. I go a low as I can and then raise until most if not all the buzz goes away.
@@DustinRadtke Definitely. I had a couple with low action, and they were great until I started getting a little buzz here and there. For me at least, can't speak for anyone else, raising the action a quarter of a millimeter is the sweet spot. It still feels great and no fret buzz.
I would have never figured this out lol
I have had an Ultra Luxe, a Les Paul Supreme, and a Fender Ultra II Meteora Plek'd. All 3 played awesome. I did return the Les Paul as it had scratches on the headstock and they rePlek'd and resent me a brand new one even before I sent the old one back. No company is perfect. You should have simply asked for another guitar from stock.
I am glad you had a great experience. Sounds like you got a really skilled worker. For me, after it went wrong the second time, I decided it was time to move on. On the bright side, I ended up learning to do the work myself, so it all worked out in a way!
Beautiful video. I am really interested in this type of video because I plan to work in some Western countries and I plan to immigrate and work as a DJ. ❤
Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed the video. That sounds like an exciting plan. Best of luck with your journey, it sounds like an amazing adventure!
If you ever come to NC hit me up, be happy to have you come to a gig with us!
Deal! I’d love that. Your videos are always a good time, and I’m sure I’d pick up a ton of great tips!
Great video! I love seeing what goes into making these shows happen.
ChatGPT Thanks! It’s always fascinating to see how much effort and preparation goes into even a medium sized bar gig. There is so much behind the scenes work that people don’t always realize.
@ exactly. 🤣
I need to know what those movers are. This guy knows his stuff.
They're really cool! I don't think they make them anymore. He's had them for years, and the only thing I found for the maker was a site in Chinese.
RCF 8008 & HDL 10’s my typa party 🔥🔥👏👏👏👏
They sound great, and he pushes them hard at times. Even so, they’ve been rock solid so far.
Hi Dustin cool video. What are the steps in connecting your iPad to this unit? Thanks. @DustinRadtke
It's pretty straightforward, but you'll need a few things, like an HDMI adapter for your iPad, a HDMI cable, and a program that supports a second screen, such as BandHelper. I’ll be making some tutorial videos and shorts soon to help others set up their lyric prompters.
Here is a short video on how to hook and iPad to this unit. ua-cam.com/users/shortsIvwv_i4VgdA
Thanks for the demo and advice. I was on the fence about getting one of my custom Guitars Pleked. Now I would prefer a reputable Luthier instead. I've heard that the actual Luthier that sets up the Plek and fine tunes the Guitar is the most crucial component. Maybe the person wasn't as experienced and missed the mark on setting up your guitar properly after it was Pleked.
Absolutely! I’ve started leveling my frets myself using a fret rocker and a few other tools. The tools weren’t cheap, but they’ve been worth it since I’ve used them on multiple guitars.
Very nice. Price is something I would need to save up for
It's an investment for sure. I was talking to a singer friend who said it felt like a lot to spend on lyrics for the stage. I told him my guitar modeler was $1700, and guitars are $300 to $3k, and don't even ask what a drummer spends! :) When you think about what other band members spend, it’s really not that bad, and they end up being super handy for more than just lyrics.
What if it gets water or wet? Does it going to damage the image?
Since it’s photo paper, it’s less likely to get damaged by a bit of water or sweat even. But if it does, it’s super easy to reprint and replace. Or you could laminate it if that’s a big concern.
do they have more than 1 HMDI PORT?
It's a 2-in, 1-out switcher. They definitely make models with more inputs and outputs if you need something bigger.
DTECH HDMI SWITCHER is also good, they have hdmi 3/4/5 in 1 out switcher, and hdmi 1 in 2/4/8 out splitter
Cool, Swiped Right is one of Tela's bands. Great job!
In what Mode did you have the speakers on? Would be happy to hear🙏🫶
They usually run theirs on "Live," but for this event, I switched to the "Music" setting. I like sticking with the default settings when I can. "Live" always feels a bit too bright, and with a female singer, I didn’t need the extra top end.
@ alright thanks
That has to be Bushwackers in Ralston, NE. Looks very familiar, though I haven't played there in a dozen years. Loved that place. We always had a great crowd, who loved dancing. Thanks for sharing your videos. Subscribing now. Looking forward to watching more!
Thanks for the sub! Yeah, its a fun venue. There aren't as many cool places left for live music around anymore.
@@DustinRadtke - An unfortunate fact for musicians today.
Good job man 👍🏽🔊✅️
Thanks! It was a fun but cold gig.
Don't try to "Hit the back wall" with sound. The dance floor is the party. People in the back don't want the "noise". Talking, ordering food or drinks, ect. If they want it louder in the back, I tell them to move up front. The band will like a packed dance floor too.
I'm starting to realize this more and more. When I first started doing sound, I wanted to make sure the sound was perfect for the whole area of the gig, but I’m not putting on a festival. It's still hard for me not to be overly critical of my work though.
@@DustinRadtke The 1980s are gone. lol
I can relate. I used to be a strat/les paul guy but after getting the eart I'm now more of a tele guy. There is something about the neck that just feels right. Also the dressing of the frets is way better than any american strat, tele or les paul I have ever played.
The telecaster was the most sold guitar on Reverb this year. Must be a lot of us feeling the same! I was seriously shocked at how much I liked the frets on the Eart. I haven't bought a new guitar in awhile because most don't have stainless and ball end frets.
Good job man
Thanks, I was surprised that it was enough system but the gazebo helped project the sound a bit.
@@DustinRadtke Yeah I saw that and thought the same, but looks like everyone had fun.
Yep I’ve played there before
It was such a nice area, but the driving there was definitely a bit tricky!
That's very cool. But having a tablet up there kinda defeats the purpose eh? Altho I think somewhere in your video it does say you can hide the tablet in the monitor ?
Thanks! I really appreciate it. With this setup, the tablet stays on the floor, out of the audience's view, instead of being up high on a mic stand. Since you can’t easily read the all the lyrics from the tablet, putting it on the monitor makes everything super easy to see. You can definitely control it from inside the box, but we like using it to display the setlist so we can quickly glance at all the upcoming songs.
That room I do believe has a Meyer sound system
I thought so too, but they are Martin speakers. I should have shown that in the video. oh, well, next time!
I ran sound for a band in the parking lot and somebody had told me that they were Used Meyers system and I thought that must be nice lol
Great video. I love seeing some of what it takes to make events like this happen.
Sometimes it feels like more prep time than actual show time for sure.
Atta Boy, looking real professional.
Fake it till you make it!
Nice video. I'm sure you caught it, but the mic on the Vox amp at 3:53 was backwards!
The guitar player mic'd his cab, but I didn’t realize it was backwards until after I shot this clip. Since I didn’t have any other footage, I decided to keep it in the video, thinking no one would notice. Spoiler alert: I was wrong! 😂
Plekking corrects wear. Plekking does nothing for a brand-new guitar. Waste of money.
If a fret is unevenly glued or set from the factory, leveling will take care of that and it actually happens more often than you'd think!
Finlandsbåten på amerikanska cool
Dude Is this in Nebraska? It looks exactly like a place I DJed at! It's burned in my memory from editing a video for it lol
Heck yeah, it is! I thought it was a cool spot too, but I heard they aren't doing events next year because of some zoning issues or something.
Played Bushwackers several times myself.
It really is a cool spot! The stage is a nice size and the system is good, there aren't many of those left around here anymore.
Love your content keep it up!
Thanks, I do have fun making them! Videos like these and yours have helped me along the way and still do. Everyone has something fun or cool they do that I can add to my bag of tricks.
Dude same I love seeing what others are doing to get inspiration. Did you see my last video where I ran a wireless delay speaker?
I bet you placed that 609 backwards just so someone would comment 😉
No actually the guitar player mic'd his own cab. I didn't notice he did the wrong direction until after I had recorded this clip. :)
I always have my old 12 channel analog mixer just in case
Yeah, definitely need to start saving up and bringing something to gigs!
How did those EV, PA speakers and 18” subs sound outside? At face value, seems like that would be an underpowered system, at least outdoors it would.
Totally agree, I thought it would be under powered! A bit more low end would’ve been nice, but it worked for that small dance space. A satellite speaker in the tent would’ve been a solid addition though!
