In this video, my friends and I attempted to build a fully functioning VR headset that could support any game in 4 days.
Thanks to Ryan and Alex for helping me make this project! (I know I clowned on them a lot in the video but seriously I was probably the least useful member on the team lol, Alex and Ryan are both very talented programmers and great friends)

I would if I could, but school is being really dumb. I am working on a little documentary for school that i spent like seven months researching, so that will (hopefully) be up within one to two months lol. And I've already planned something for this june's hackathon as well, should be pretty epic

Pretty damn neat, it's sort of like a DIY version of the original Rift DK1. Out of curiosity, what did you use to convert Minecraft to SBS 3D?
If you mean the view at the end on the top right, that was done in post; for it to show up on my headset camera, I think we just sent the obs screen data to the website and displayed two copies of the image with html/css
@@flatypus So the HMD is actually Monoscopic, it doesn't output Stereoscopic 3D?
@@Cr4z3d No, there definitely is a way to implement it but we didn't have time in the scope of the video (nor did we really think of it LOL) to make it
@@flatypus Ah, I see. How's the resolution of the screen itself then? Still pretty cool that you made a fully functional Mono HMD, and technically the way it's designed makes it much more compatible with a wider variety of games, why I've actually kind of wanted to build something like this myself. For true stereoscopic output, a solution you could definitely try is installing SuperDepth 3D using ReShade, and putting some kind of splitter in the middle of the HMD's housing to seperate the 2 eyes. How did you manage to translate the Gyro's movements to Mouse input btw, was it Opentrack?

Excellent work, I’m getting into vr game development and would love to find some testers in advance. I don’t have my first game built yet, but I have projects in the works currently. One is going to be called quantum anomalies vr, basically mix Titan fall with quantum break and assassin’s creed and you have an idea of the locomotion system and some game mechanics. I want it to be a tell tale game with time travel, puzzles and parkour with a shooter element in it. Not done enough for play testing but still want to find people who would be interested in it, once it’s done being developed enough for release the play testers get a free copy.

Easy mode to make a vr headset: make a cardboard headset instal trinus in your phone and pc after put your phone in your vr cardboard find a controler and enjoy!
