I think u r the only one mentioned about the lock in ur last part of the video No any utube channels mentioned that lock Proud about ur hardworking and covering everything
Accidentally locked myself out of a new bike lock trying to reset the code. Followed the first couple of your steps and was able to get the key partially in. Kept turning the tumbler until the key engaged. Thank you! I was about to give up!!!
After trying for what seemed like forever to open one of these locks, I cut it apart to discover that the the internals were frozen and the plastic rings were spinning free without actually changing anything.
What does it look like? Is it the one without plastic parts and with tiny metal digits? It has no false gates and picks like a normal lock, you simply tension it, find the digit that binds and spin it until it lets loose and falls into a set. You can open those without knowing the code as fast as if you do, not suspicious at all. These in the video are pretty adequate in comparison.
I trust a 4' length of 1/2" steel chain, a Master 6-pin lockout padlock, and most importantly, my brain to find a safe place to lock up! Also, my bike is a steel-framed jalopy with wires hanging out everywhere, and a battery box held on with tie-wraps. It says to would-be thieves, "Do you feel lucky?" 😂😂😂
@@vuaeco You're not wrong. That's why the most important security asset is my brain. I have little choice as I don't have a proper battery mounting system, but I still need to occasionally remove the battery for charging. Another thing is that my hot glue-festooned battery box is from a sit-down scooter, so a keen-eyed thief might assume I have 4 lead acid batteries and walk away. At least, this is the hope...
You know what would help? People not relying on a $20 lock to protect a $2000 bike in a dark alley, late at night. Did you even watch the video? Or are you just reacting to the title like a fool?
Absolutely brilliant explanation...so clear that I was able to successfully reset a new cable lock that I accidentally reset last night but didn't realise that's what I had done! It was this 'tolerance' zone that helped the most. Thankyou so much...I normally end up having to buy a new lock, again!
Following your technique for the letter combination lock, I just opened a similar lock on a used bike that I got years ago, which came with a lock that the previous owner could not remember the combination 😛 THANK YOU!!!!

Hey that’s a great video. I’ve never seen these three techniques before, can’t wait to get home and try them in my locks. Well done.
Not 9,999 combinations. There are 10,000. You forgot to count 0000.
Thanks! Worked on an old combo lock I found in my toolbox.

I forgot my combination,really helpful!

I did open my bicycle with gaps checked method, thanks
Good advice!!
None of these techniques worked on my bike lock bought from the dollar store. No gaps to move around between the cylinders. 😲

LOL! If they know how expensive that battery is, they feel lucky!
Maybe they just cut your tie-wrap and take the battery only.

Fully torqued!!!
great video
Great !
thank you
That’s actually 10000 possibilities because there is also 0000
10000 combos
You're right. I forgot to account for the quadruple zero combination
There are 10,000 combinations, your off by 1. The reason is you start from 0000 up to 9999 and not from 0001.
You know... your maybe not helping people

@@fun_ghoulur talking about electric bike being $2000 right?
You missed your calling in life, lol. :)
thanks! stole 16 bikes today gone up on ebay too ez money ut a legend!
Actually the possible combinations are 10,000. (10×10×10×10×10)

I have actually had 2 similar locks over the last 10 years or so that actually had a 0000 combination
Locks where you can change combination usually come as all 0.
0000 is also a combination, so it's 10.000, not 9.999. Ring = dial, key = pin,
thanks
Thanks, this really helped me unlock the combination of my cycle lock
Tray new ones lol can not open this old way I know there wen I was 12 years old
Thanks. A great rational explanation of how these locks work and how to open them
I did try my best but still not working
Hi. I have old 3digit lock, it has no gap or air. I try turn number from left or from right it goes nowere. What other solution do you recommend?
HEY--I'M LIKEN THIS VIDEO!! THANKS
It worked for me! Thanks! You just saved me!

My lock has engaged only partially and the first wheel (numbered) has stuck (first wheel doesn't rotate). How to open this (partially engaged) lock ?
