I have two locks and I challenged myself with the other lock and I can tell you it's easier the second time. The guy who made this video is awesome!!!! I'm a 65yr old Granny haha thank you
Thank you for your lovely feedback! Well done for decoding your locks. It takes a while to get the right "feel", and it sounds like you nailed it - fantastic!
This method is a lifesaver. Thank you ❤. It is the easiest method for people with larger fingers😂😂. When I turn one dial the neighbouring dials might turn as well. This way you make the one on the right fixed and ones on the left can turn while sensing how tight they become.
Fantastic you got it open! Well done. Yea you're right, a lot of combination bike locks can be decoded easily. Most thieves cut locks whether they are combination locks or key locks - they cut the chain - though some opportunistic thieves will attempt to decode combination bike locks. Therefore key locks are a bit safer (but not as convenient because you have to carry around a key).
Great stuff! Yea it works on many different types of bike locks (but not all). Well done for figuring out the tension, even though it can be tough on your fingers. Cheers!
I have open it OMG I REALLY OPEN IT AFTER 1YEAR OF PLAYING 😅, I have problem to check tension but the combination was start give me idea what could be the code ! Great video
It works on many combination bike locks but not all. You could try the "Sideways" method in my video 190: ua-cam.com/video/e0xpSiTtvNA/v-deo.html ... or sometimes I have to use advanced methods like this one: ua-cam.com/video/sQ7RAC-V8D0/v-deo.html ... Good luck!
@@_4lexi_ Lemme know how you get on. The indirect method may still work, but sometimes you need to put on gloves and pull really hard on some locks. For other locks you need to get the first couple of wheels correct before it will give feedback.
My pleasure. 😜😜 Lemme know how you get on! If you're having trouble tension it (as it will require pulling hard enough for a while), take lots of breaks, ask someone to help, or you may the "sideways" method helpful in the next video after this one.
Excellent! Well done, and also well done on using a key lock in future, as combo locks are unsafe. Please note that although some thieves decode combo locks, most thieves will cut locks/chains/cables (whether it's a combo or key lock), so get one with the thickest chain/cable that you are comfortable to carry. Also I recommend spending 10% to 20% of what a bike is worth on a lock.
Really helpful, thank you! Your advice helped me unlock my son's BRAND NEW 5-code NDakter-style bike lock, the combination to which he had forgotten. My fingers have blisters but what satisfaction!
Excellent about getting it open! Sorry about the blisters - I often wear gloves because of that. Well done for tensioning it so well to get get the feel of it. It's a great feeling when it suddenly pops open, right?
Do you have the same model of lock? If no then this method may not work, but if yes then I can try and give some tips. Wear gloves and pull hard (or get someone else to help pull it hard), as the harder you tension it the more obvious the tightening up will be. Also sometimes it helps to move the last wheel to a different number as the closer you are to the correct combination code the more obvious the feedback. Or you could set the first wheel on 0, and then do the indirect method on the the 2nd & 3rd wheel, and if no good then put the 1st wheel on 1, etc (brute forcing the 1st wheel all the way around). Last (but not least) you can try the sideways method in my video 190: ua-cam.com/video/e0xpSiTtvNA/v-deo.html ... maybe you should try that first. Good luck!
@@bryantfalk7021 That could mean one of the other wheels has the wrong number. You *could* brute force the last to wheels (trying every combination) to make sure.

This method works on a lot of bike locks, but not all. Some locks are built differently. For the ones where it works, it's important to get the right "feel" of resistance - not too much and not too little. Sometimes I have to use two wheels down instead of the very next wheel, because some locks will make the other wheels slightly bind up too.
I requires quick a lot of strength for consistent tension (constant pulling). If it still doesn't work then you might like to try: ua-cam.com/video/e0xpSiTtvNA/v-deo.html
The indirect method requires lots of tension ... I'm constantly pulling hard even though it doesn't look like it. Failing that you could try the "Sideways" method in my video 190: ua-cam.com/video/e0xpSiTtvNA/v-deo.html
@@Swynndla just tried this next method and thought it was going to work but with the lock I have it feels like it’s going into the right chamber on 4 different numbers on one wheel I’ve tried everything and can’t get it unlocked
@@jaysy7349 Ahhh it sounds to me as if your lock is a higher security one with false gates (along with the one true gate) for each wheel. Unfortunately I can't find a Halfords lock with a cheap enough price with cheap enough shipping from th UK to New Zealand, so I can't buy it. Things you can try: 1) Use the Indirect method (like in this video) but only test for a patch of numbers on the next wheel that are *between* the gates. As usual, wear rubber gloves to save your fingers, and the more that you constantly pull both ends the better (it doesn't look like I'm pulling very hard with constant tension, but I am). 2) If there are consistently 4 gates for each wheel, then you know one of them is a true gate. You could either try even combination of those (they are narrowed down so it wont take as long as going through all the numbers), or look for a pattern. Since 4 doesn't divide nicely into 10, they space the gates into a pattern. If the patter is 1, 3, 5, 8 ... then you can see that 8 is the odd one out around the wheel (because it's spaced two apart instead of one) and that can mean that 8 is the true gate (in this example). Also check which gate is the loosest (while pulling both ends), as sometimes that will be the true gate. If none of these work then you lock might be a higher security one or it might be the other way around ... it might be sloppily made and it gives all sorts of random feedback that makes it difficult to decode. Failing everything else, you might have to go through all the combinations, starting with 0-0-0-0. It will take a long time. Good luck!
