THIS song applies to more people than we want to admit... and we're usually included on that list! The LYRICS on this!!! Its THE monster inside us ALL! 💯
And I love how they leave you in the confusion and fade out in the end of the song. They aren't giving you the answers, just raising the questions for you to think about. Great analysis!
This was the song that instantly hooked me to Supertramp in 1979. I bought "Supertramp Live in Paris" long before i had my first record player and it's still one of the best live albums!
Supertramp was a super band!! They were so good. My father liked them and I still do. The Logical Song is so perfect. Thank you! Regards from Chile! :-)
I know I’m late to this party, but bro, I hugged my tablet when you said it’s even more relevant today! Just wanna hug you!!! Loving how you loved this and loved the message! You make me smile. ❤
I’m SO glad you see the genius on this one. Such a great piece of music. Also, so glad I found your channel, love how you experience and explain the songs you discuss
Many great songs by Supertramp: Give a Little Bit It's Raining Again Bloody Well Right Dreamer Goodbye Stranger Breakfast in America Take the Long Way Home Lord, Is it Mine You rock BIzmatik!
YAY!! I'm so happy you liked it!!🤗 Even though I knew you'd like this one sonically (I had no doubt about that at all!😜), the main reason I suggested it was because I thought the lyrics would blow you away! Your reaction did NOT disappoint!!🙃 Seriously, as intellectual as you are (and don't try to hide it! lol!!), I knew the lyrics were gonna get you!! You nailed it on your assessment and sadly, the theme in the lyrics is not only still relevant today.... it has been going on since the dawn of time. Even though I was only a young child when this was released.... I felt the lyrics!! DEFINITELY keep going with Supertramp!! Not real sure if a catalogue dive is necessary (from a # of views perspective!) but they had many hits and I think you'd like them!! Now, you know me.... I'm gonna leave a list of their big ones for you!!😅😁 In no specific order... 1.) "GOODBYE STRANGER" 2.) "GIVE A LITTLE BIT" 3.) "TAKE THE LONG WAY HOME" 4.) "BLOODY WELL RIGHT" 5.) "DREAMER" There, that should keep you going with Supertramp for a little while!!😁 Btw, I just noticed you uploaded "Another Brick In The Wall" (FINALLY!!).... but kinda weird, I was actually gonna mention Another Brick in the Wall in this comment as a suggestion because the theme in that one is similar to The Logical Song!! Love that you uploaded them on the same night!!👏👏👏 Anyway, freaking great reaction Biz and I'm really glad you liked it!! See you on the next one fam....😎❤
Just Subbed !!! One of the best reactions I’ve ever seen. And I’ve watched hundreds The Lyrics are deep. Roger Hodgson who wrote and sang this song, was apparently unknowingly whisked off to boarding school as young boy. His idyllic childhood, gone !
back in the late 70's and early 80's saying this was radical. We were all still watching The Cosby show, spoon fed three TV channels, and thinking life was peachy. Now it is more obviously true...
I'm passionate about Supertramp! So happy you're digging them! They are definitely worth doing a deeper dive into. I'd love to see you do a reaction to the song Rudy.
One of the best albums of 1979. Many things had turned punk rock, but this masterpiece showed that yes, musicianship counted. So well produced, so many surprise sounds. Excellent lyrics about losing your carefree youth. Supertramp is GREAT.
You got it in one Biz, I'm 71 years young and been listening to these guys since they hit the airwaves..... They were deep back then, but with every listen, they get deeper. Love your take on music from my teens👍🙏❤️😇 Don't know If you've heard it yet, but the album "Crisis, what crisis?" is phenomenal..... Love to listen to it with you 😉
The penmanship is outstanding BizMan!!!! It definitely makes you think!!! Coming from your island it is even more pertinent!!!!! Glad you liked it hombre!!!!! More Supertramp please!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!! 😎🍸
I think there is a musical aspect to this....I think it is the battle between the artist and creativity vs. those who want to conform or force artists to conform. Great reaction. New subscriber!
SUPERTRAMP, "THE LOGICAL SON. In my SUPERTRAMP, and STEELY DAN. The Two Hidden Gems of the 70'S. Both groups catalogs were extensive, and the absolute best groovy music. More..."CRIME OF THE CENTURY", "SCHOOL", "BLOODY WELL RIGHT", "BREAKFAST IN AMERICA"
The natural way to experience the song is naked without lyrics... that's the way we had to do... in time we would figure out the words. Thank you for these wonderful videos.
Instant subscribe. "Cancel culture is not new, it just moved to Twitter." Tbh, that's the best way I've ever heard it described. Kudos, man! Listen to the other folks here, their suggestions are golden. The entire "Crime of the Century" album is one big masterpiece, front to end.
This song is one of the 2 Songs that have stuck with me through my life, to painfully and through hardships to retain my inner child and to fight against the system. The other song is by the Band YES - Owner Of A Lonely Heart.
Roger Hodgson is a master composer and song writer. There are so many great tunes from this band. Dreamer live in Paris, Bloody Well Right, Breakfast In America, School, Give A Little Bit, Lord Is It Mine... just to name a few. I can see myself in Biz, hearing them for the first time. ✌️
All are fantastic tunes! I was in the 7th grade when this particular song came out. Actually, it was the summer going into 7th. We all were scrambling to learn every word.
@@tammieparrishmiller3669 We're probably close to the same age, I think I was 12 the summer of '78 when this hit the airwaves. Such a great time to be alive.
I love SUPERTRAMP. You’re completely correct on the meaning of this song. I especially like how this band uses instruments that are not mainstream in this kind of music. “Give a Little Bit” is another good one from this English band.
The lyrics to this right from the start just bust through your chest… damn… hurts. A lot. And then that saxophone drops?? Like THAT???? Ppffffttttt 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Roger Hodgson is indeed great, but Rick Davies was phenomenal also by writing and lead singing some of Supertramp’s best songs, like “Bloody Well Right” and my favorite “Just Another Nervous Wreck”.
im proly the only guy in Florida crusing down the road with this song hitting on my stereo. no it isnt huge low bass or any of that, but eq it right & it comes out so full & the bass bumps just right. Love this song
I will always be present for Supertramp. They had at least 5 or 6 absolute masterpiece albums. Their album "Crime of the Century" was my go to album for testing out new speakers back in the dinosaur days.
You are so correct, this song applies more today than back then. Back then there was small groups of people around here and there. Today they'll label anyone who is not in line with there program.
I just watched your reaction to Rudy which was classic! For another out there instrumental and vocal masterpiece have a listen to School and one of my all time favourites of theirs Dreamer. Both are really trippy in their own right.
I love this song so much, loved it as a kid when came out and got the meaning, and loved the rhyming and the way put together, but I understand it even more now as an adult , but I remember how I felt as a kid , it was magical and then you grow up and we all need to learn think for ourselves and know who we are not what system trys to make us that is why cancel culture is trying to do . We have common sense and can figure things out . this song is even more relevant now
Love your reaction man. Felt the same back in the day. DO check out “Child of Vision” from the Breakfast in America album. It is an addition lyrically to The Logical Song.
Bloody Well Right, is the song that really made Supertramp click for me. They have an odd sound that took me a little bit to appreciate but their lyrics, music, and overall vibe is legendary. The band everyone doesn't know they know.
"School" by Supertramp is a beautiful masterpiece!
Rudy as well.
Definitely
Goodbye Stranger is another great song of theirs!
The singer is Roger Hodgson; also the writer.
THIS song applies to more people than we want to admit... and we're usually included on that list!

This may be the only reaction I’ve seen give the proper time to the lyrics and how powerful they are. Thank you! Nicely done
Hi from Australia this reaction couldn’t have come at a better time!!! Thank you it’s refreshing
Love Supertramp! More can't go wrong with them, they are a treat! ❤

This is universal truth.

"Breakfast In America" was in my car cassette when I was a young man.
Amazing reaction. Thank you for looking at the lyrics so closely!!! Every bit of this song is otherworldly and transcendental imo
Thank you

" Breakfast in America". Don't get much better. "Lord is it mine." On that great album is my favorite! Happy listening.

The coolest part of Supertramp is you can drop the needle anywhere on any of their albums and it will be amazing.

Super Tramp, Paul McCartney, The Guess Who, just pulling names . . . they formed the sound-track to our lives.
It’s poetry. Love to hear it as a rap song though too lol 🔥

Child of Vision off of the Breakfast in America album. It has everything you want. Supertramp is always great fun!
